The British etiquette coach who taught Meghan Markle the rules of high society has revealed he has been “appalled” by her behavior since she left the royal family.

Edmund Fry, 83, who runs the Rose Tree Cottage in Pasadena, California, where the Duchess of Sussex learned to “drink tea with the Queen,” denounced her for “attacking the monarchy.”

He said the former actress is no longer talked about by customers in his tea room because they are “loyal to King Charles” and British expats and American customers alike feel “let down” by her.

“Ordinary and poor people wouldn’t talk about their neighbors like that [as Harry spoke about his family],’ he told The sun.

He added that when the couple first stepped out of the royal family, they “talked about being ambassadors for the world” and “helping the commonwealth.”

But Mr. Fry believes the couple “wasted that chance” to do right.

“Since the Netflix thing came up and the Oprah interview and things were mentioned about racism in the royal family and so on, it tainted it,” he added.

Mr Fry met Meghan in 2017 before she moved to London and says he supported her for many years.

At the time, Mr Fry told the Daily Mail: ‘She loved it so much she wanted to come back’.

‘The younger generation doesn’t know what bone china is and certainly doesn’t know how to handle a cup and saucer, or a knife and fork.’

“They mainly come to us to find out, ‘What should we do, since we have this social event?’

The same thing happened with Meghan. She knew she would have tea with the Queen.’

“They really don’t know what to do here. What we’ve found is we give them some information if they’re interested and see what happens.”

Mr Fry, who believed Meghan only found love for England after visiting his cottage, added he was “heartbroken” to see the royal family broken at the coronation.

Most customers don’t even mention Meghan or Harry. They don’t even want to talk about it. And you couldn’t give away a book about Meghan anymore,” he added.

It comes as Harry and Meghan celebrated their daughter Lilibet’s second birthday with a party in California.

A royal expert has claimed that, after celebrating her first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, Lili’s second birthday will be an “all-American affair.”

While few details about the young princess’s life have been shared by the Sussexes, it emerged earlier this year that she had been baptized in an intimate ceremony with a party at the Sussexes’ £12 million ($14 million) mansion.

And last year, adorable photos of Lilibet celebrating her summer birthday in the grounds of Frogmore Cottage were shared with friends – including friend of the Sussexes, photographer Misan Harriman.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told OK! magazine Lilibet’s second birthday could be a star-studded affair in the US.

She said: ‘I’m expecting some celebrities and a relaxed party, which will hopefully include some other toddlers.

“It would be nice to think that the day could include a video call with Lilibet’s grandfather, King Charles, and hopefully some sort of gift has been arranged and will be delivered to Montecito for her birthday.”
