Manhunt underway as string of supermarkets robbed at knifepoint

A woman has reportedly been stabbed by a trio of knifemen who are still on the run after allegedly robbing three supermarkets and stealing a car.

The police are looking for three men who are believed to be traveling around Melbourne‘s suburbs in a stolen white Mercedes hatchback.

There are unconfirmed reports that at least one person has been stabbed and Victoria Police air forces have been dispatched to assist in the search.

The men first targeted an IGA supermarket in Cheltenham, in the south of the city, where they jumped over the counter and attacked a worker at 4pm.

It is reported that the same men then immediately went to a Dockendorff grocer on Cochran Street Brighton 6 miles away for a second robbery.

A third supermarket in Burwood is also believed to have been targeted by the men.

A police helicopter flies in the sky above Melbourne trying to locate the men who are still at large.

More to come.
