Faith also opted for bright pink with her trousers, teaming it with a black top and a vest.

Tina Fey’s upcoming musical film adaptation Mean Girls is highly anticipated.

Starring Renée Rapp, Angourie Rice and Christopher Briney, it will be released on January 12.

Fey wrote the screenplay for the 2024 adaptation and also reprized her role of Mrs. Norbury in the musical comedy.

It comes next the star-studded Mean Girls premiered in the Big Apple earlier this week.

Lindsay Lohan, who most notably starred in the original 2004 film as Cady Heron, was on hand to show her support for the highly anticipated project.

Last month, Rachel McAdams, who played Regina George in the original, confessed that she was in talks to star in the new musical film version of Mean Girls, but it was too “hard” to figure it out with Fey.

“Tina and I were experimenting with a few ideas, but it was difficult to make it all work in the end,” the Oscar-nominated star said Variety.

She added: “I was really down for whatever she wanted to do. I think the direction it has gone will be fantastic and I can’t wait to see it.”

It was initially reported that talks for an original cast reunion for the film fell through due to money.

Some movie fans are confused about the marketing for the upcoming reboot, as the movie isn’t labeled as a “musical” despite being from a Broadway show.

The project is directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne, in a screenplay by Fey.

Mad Men veteran Jon Hamm also appears in the film as a high school coach.

New student Cady Heron (Rice) is welcomed to the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called The Plastics, ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Rapp) and her henchmen Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika).

However, when Cady makes the big mistake of falling in love with Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she falls prey to Regina’s crosshairs.

As Cady sets out to take down the group’s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn to stay true to herself as she navigates the most cutthroat jungle of them all: school.

The original Mean Girls starred Lohan, McAdams and Amanda Seyfried and was released in 2004.

The feature film was a hit with critics and audiences alike, grossing just over $130 million upon release, according to Box Office Mojo.

The film generated a strong following after its debut, and a made-for-television sequel was released in 2011.

A stage musical based on the film debuted in 2017 and ran on Broadway from 2018 to 2020.

The film’s development was revealed in 2020.
