Australian sports fans were thrilled after a supporter captured the moment Matildas star Mary Fowler waved to her beaming boyfriend Nathan Cleary at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Monday evening.

The NRL superstar, 26, was accompanied by his mother Rebecca as Tony Gustavsson’s side beat China 2-0 in their final clash before the Paris Olympics in July.

The TikTok clip – which has been viewed nearly 95,000 times – was dubbed “we love a supportive king.”

Gustavsson was impressed by the collective desire his team showed for a healthy crowd of 76,798 people.

“We were very aggressive and attacking-minded,” he said after second-half goals against Clare Wheeler and Hayley Raso.

‘We have to work on our game management…’ Even though we don’t like to play slow, we have to learn how to end a game and save our legs for the next round.”

Fowler had even more reason to celebrate on Tuesday when she was formally named in Australia’s 18-man squad for the Games.

It will be the Manchester City star’s second Olympics following her performance in Tokyo in 2021, where the Matildas finished fourth.

Meanwhile, scans last month revealed a grade 2 hamstring tear for her boyfriend Cleary, which would sideline the first-choice NSW halfback for the Origin series.

Game one is Wednesday night in Sydney.

Cleary and Fowler have been an item since at least November last year, after Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed photos of the pair enjoying a cuddle in a Perth park for a Matildas’ Olympic qualifying competition.

They first attracted attention as a potential couple when they were spotted together on a leisurely walk along the Nepean River in Penrith in Sydney’s west.

The pair were then seen sharing an ice cream after a promotional event hosted by Adidas, a brand that both athletes endorse.
