Well, it’s just unveiled a brand new smartphone with a higher resolution screen than an iPhone – for just £89.

The company never stopped making phones, but as Apple and Samsung began to dominate the world stage, Motorola faded into the background.

As smartphones go, Motorola’s new Moto G04 phone is a bargain.

Apple unveiled its most expensive smartphone range last year: the iPhone 15 at $799/£799, the iPhone 15 Pro ($999/£999) and iPhone 15 Pro Max ($1,199/£1,199).

Similarly, Samsung is pricing its latest Galaxy S24 device at $799/£799 for the 128GB device, and the 1TB device at a whopping $1659/£1549.

At a fraction of the cost, the Moto G04 features a 6.6″ HD+ display, with a screen that includes 90Hz technology – while the iPhone 15 can only have 60Hz.

This means smooth and highly detailed graphics when scrolling through social media, playing games or streaming.

The Android device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner – a feature that iPhone owners sorely miss.

A dual-lens camera can take DSLR-style portrait photos, in addition to a feature that lets you automatically retouch your selfies.

Like iPhones and Samsung devices, the Moto G04 has a high brightness mode and a night light mode that adapts the screen to your environment.

Dolby Atmos technology is built into the device for great sound on the go while streaming.

Motorola also promises that apps will load faster thanks to the octa-core processor.

Important to know: the Moto G04 has a splash-proof design, which means it is not completely water-resistant.

It will be available in Concord Black, Sea Green, Satin Blue and Sunrise Orange.

Where can you buy the Moto G04?

Motorola has confirmed that the Moto G04 will be available in stores from March.

Customers can make purchases through Motorola’s website or through these stores:

  • Amazon
  • O2
  • Vodafone
  • Three
  • Curries
  • Car telephone warehouse
  • Gif Cool

  • Tesco
