New Delhi: In a virtual address to the people of Mizoram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the BJP-led NDA government has effectively bridged the geographical and development gap between the northeastern states and Delhi by addressing their unique needs and aspirations. He emphasized that the government has taken concrete steps to integrate the region into the national mainstream and ensure that it receives the attention and resources it deserves, according to a report by news agency ANI.

“Before 2014, people considered the northeastern states like Mizoram as distant from Delhi both physically and psychologically. Recognizing this sense of distance, the BJP, after coming to power as part of the NDA government in 2014, made it a priority to bridge this gap by catering to the aspirations and needs of the northeastern states,” PM Modi said during the video conference. He further outlined that Mizoram has the potential to become a global tourism hub.

‘Mizoram is a state with both nature and culture, says Prime Minister Modi

“Mizoram is a state with both nature and culture. It has the potential to become a global tourism hub. When infrastructure improves, this benefits trade, talent and tourism. Infrastructure brings investments, industries and revenues and also creates opportunities,” the Prime Minister said in his speech.
He also emphasized that a revolution took place in all sectors of the state due to the work of the BJP-led government.

“During one of my earlier visits to Mizoram, I had promised to work towards transformation through transportation; Since then, a revolution has taken place in all sectors due to the work of the BJP-led government… Till 2013-2014, the total length of National Highways in the Northeast was 11,000 km, in 2023-2023 we have increased it to 16,000 km. he added.
