Extraordinary moment brazen porch pirate runs up and grabs package before delivery man has even left
This is the crazy moment a suspected porch pirate swoops in while a delivery person is delivering a package and takes it away before fleeing.
A homeowner in Columbus, Ohio, turned to social media for help after a small package containing an Apple Watch was snatched from the delivery person who delivered it.
Doorbell footage captured the moment a porch pirate appeared to run past the driver and steal the box just seconds after it was dropped off.
The brazen thief reportedly grabbed the package from Northwest Ohio homeowner Kyle Dorsch on Monday afternoon.
‘I saw the man running away. “I’m still trying to process what happened,” Dorsch said.

“While we were home in the middle of the day, they didn’t wait for the delivery person to leave the porch, they came in very quickly and left,” he said WSYX.
Columbus police reported that package thieves are becoming an increasing problem for residents.
“Package thefts happen everywhere,” said Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua.
Thieves now opt for small packages, he said ABC.
‘Mobile phone or smartwatch; smaller technology that people can sell on the aftermarket for a lot of money,” says Fuqua.
‘We do believe in some of those cases; “Somehow some of these suspects get access to tracking numbers to determine when and where you might find a package,” Fuqua said.

Other homeowners in Ohio neighborhoods are experiencing similar crimes. “We have a ring camera and that’s not a deterrent, they’re still taking packages,” said Short North resident Jessica Alvarado.
‘It’s quite intrusive, someone is almost in our house and taking stuff. It’s an unsettling feeling,” she said.
