Penny Lancaster cosies up with Rod Stewart’s second wife Rachel Hunter and daughter Renee in sweet birthday post after wild family wedding celebrations in Croatia

Rod Stewart’s wives, both past and present, proved there is no bad blood between them as the family reunited this weekend to celebrate the musician’s son Liam’s wedding in Croatia on Friday.

To show off their friendship, Rod’s third wife Penny Lancaster shared a beautiful photo of her and Rachel Hunter, the singer’s second wife, with Rachel and Rod’s daughter Renee.

The three women looked sensational as they wowed in their colorful bridal ensembles.

Penny wowed in a pale lilac satin dress that featured a large bow at the front as she wished Renee a happy birthday.

Renee, who turned 32 on Saturday, kept it simple in an elegant mustard yellow slip dress, while her mother Rachel looked stunning in a satin blue halterneck.

Penny wished her stepdaughter all the best, writing: “Happy birthday beautiful @renee_stewart.”

Rachel also shared a similar photo of the three of them as she smiled as she wrote, “The three of us before the wedding.”

Penny has previously spoken about her and Liam’s mother’s friendship, as she confessed that any heartache between the trio is now all water under the bridge.

Rod previously admitted that Rachel left him heartbroken when she called time on their nine-year marriage in 1999, some seven years before they divorced in 2006.

Although there was some initial tension between the two women as the rocker eventually moved on, Penny told the Loose Women in 2017 that she and Rachel are now very friendly.

She explained, “Rachel and I have matured over the years and now have a lot more in common. We sit and chat and we’re through that crazy period of 10, 15 years ago.

“It’s about being an adult… We’ve moved on, grown up, and from the beginning I knew I wasn’t just dating Rod; I had a relationship with his family. I saw how all his children were doing and I wanted my future children to do the same.”

Rod and Penny have been married since 2007 and share two children, Alastair, 18, and his younger brother Aiden, 13.

Speaking about Rachel and Penny’s relationship itself, Rod also told the Daily Express: ‘We get on well now and Penny gets on well with Rachel. Actually, all exes get along, so I guess I did something right.”

The rocker has eight children from five different mothers and has been married three times, including his marriages to Penny and Rachel.

Rod’s eldest child, daughter Sarah, spans almost 50 years and is 59 years old and his youngest Aiden is just 13.

The star welcomed his eldest with ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey, but the couple gave her up for adoption after he fathered her at 18.

He went on to have two children, daughter Kimberly, 44, and son Sean, 43, with his ex-wife Alana Stewart.

The star fathered another daughter, Ruby, 36, with his former partner Kelly Emberg before marrying his second wife Rachel, who gave birth to two more children, Renee, 31, and Liam, 29.

Rachel and Rod were married from 1990 to 2006. The couple met at a Los Angeles nightclub the night before Sir Rod, then 45, wanted to propose to model Kelly, with whom he shares daughter Ruby.

But Sir Rod was taken with Rachel, then 21, who had recently appeared in a high-profile Sports Illustrated fitness video.

The couple had Renee and son Liam before going their separate ways.

Speaking to The Times, Renee, who recently qualified as a yoga teacher, revealed how her father’s children would get together for ‘amazing’ ‘tribal meetings’ when she was younger.

But she said she would hide her famous father’s identity at school because she was determined to be her own person.

“It’s just not cool to talk about your parents,” she said. ‘When I was in school in LA, when people would ask me what my dad did, I’d say, “Oh, he’s in entertainment.”
