Taylor Swift‘s relationship with the Philadelphia Eagles is…delicate.
The Philadelphia radio program ‘Bex and Buster’, broadcast on station Q102, announced on Wednesday, November 15 that no Swift music will be played leading up to the Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, November 20.
“Q102 loves Taylor Swift and the whole thing Travis [Kelce] and Taylor, just as much as the rest of the world, but this weekend we need to focus, so we’re forced to cut Taylor Swift from the playlist,” radio personality said. Buster Satterfield explained during a performance on Good day Philadelphia.
“There will be no Taylor Swift on Q102 all weekend because there is only one Swift [and] Kelce duo we care about here in the City of Brotherly Love,” Buster’s cohost, Bex Marounagreed, referring to Eagles running back D’Andre Swift and Eagles center Jason KelceTravis’ brother.
Despite growing up in suburban Philadelphia and being a lifelong Eagles fan, Swift found herself in the crossfire of the team’s rivalry due to her romance with Travis, 34, who is close to the Chiefs.
Swift first traded her Eagles T-shirt for a Chiefs jersey in September when she showed up to watch Travis play in Kansas City. The singer sat next to Travis’ mother, Donna Kelceand was seen walking around the stadium with Travis after the game.
Since then, Swift’s presence at Chiefs games has been a major talking point within the NFL. Travis drew the league’s attention during an October episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“I like it when they show who was at the game. I think it adds a little more atmosphere, adds a little more to what you’re looking at,” he said. “But at the same time, I think… they’re overdoing it a little bit, for sure, especially in my situation. [But] I think they’re just trying to have fun with it.”
Travis was in the stands this weekend as he attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert on Saturday, November 11 in Buenos Aires. During the performance he was seen talking to Taylor’s father, Scott Swiftwho was wearing a Chiefs lanyard.
“I got him on his good side, baby,” Travis joked during Wednesday’s episode of his podcast, telling Jason, 36, that he’s converting the Swifts “one by one” to join the Chiefs fandom Close.
In response, Jason appealed directly to Scott, 71. “Are you going to let your devilish good looks and relationship with your daughter distract you from a life of fandom, Scott? Ridiculous.” he joked.
Travis added that Scott is a “big football guy” who played the sport in college. “I think he was a center linebacker,” he said. “He’s a tall guy.”
The Chiefs vs. Monday’s Eagles game is a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl, which gave Travis his second championship ring. Q102’s temporary boycott of Swift’s discography begins on Friday, November 17 at 5pm ET and ends on Tuesday, November 21.
