Bengaluru consistently gets media coverage for a variety of reasons, whether it be through notable incidents that define the city or events related to its thriving IT and startup scene. In a recent incident, a man in Bengaluru was deeply moved when he came across a ‘polite’ note on a car window. The incident received a lot of attention because of the message on the note that the man found on the window of the car, which made a great impression on him.

Note from the neighbours

Subhasis Das, a Twitter user, recently shared a photo on social media showing a note taped to a car window by a concerned neighbor. The message politely requested not to park in that specific spot, highlighting that previous requests had been made.

The note emphasized “Hello, please do not park your car here!! We previously asked you not to do this. Please understand that we have lived in this area since the year 2000 and have 2 cars. That is why we need sufficient parking space. Please return to your previous parking space. Let’s be good and supportive neighbors.” He had signed it off with ‘your neighbor’.

Das said he discovered this intriguing incident in Koramangala, a neighborhood in Bengaluru.

Admiration for the treatment of the anonymous neighbor

Subhasis Das expressed surprise at the tone of the message in another tweet, noting, “It is rare to come across such polite communication of concerns. In most cases, similar situations escalate into violence.”

The post also received a lot of attention online, with many people expressing their admiration for the anonymous neighbor’s handling of the situation. People were particularly impressed with the way it was resolved.

Some users even made comparisons and speculated on how residents of Delhi and Gurugram would have reacted in a similar scenario. As one user commented, “The people of Bengaluru are really kind-hearted.”

Another person emphasized the importance of being a good neighbor with his comment. Meanwhile, a third user speculated, “Had this happened in Gurgaon, the neighbor could have now resorted to smashing the windshield with a baseball bat.”
