Porsha Williams Called Simon Guobadia Her ‘Ride or Die’ Before the Divorce

“My ride or die 🤌🏾🔥 (And yes he thought he was dead today 😂) #BeHisPeace ❤️🌹,” Williams, 42, wrote via X on Saturday, Feb. 17, alongside a video of her and Guobadia, 59, riding a boat (modeled after a yellow sports car) in the ocean with a cityscape of skyscrapers behind them.
Less than a week after the social media post, People reported on Friday, February 23, that Williams had filed for divorce from Guobadia after 15 months of marriage. A source told the publication that the decision was not based on fan speculation about the Nigerian-born Guobadia’s citizenship status.
Rumors previously swirled about Williams and Guobadia’s relationship after they went public in May 2021. At the time, Williams said the couple got together “a month ago” and “fell in love” with each other a month after her. “I know it’s going fast, but we’re living every day to the fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every evening. Turn off all negative energy and focus only on positive wishes. He makes me so happy and for me that is the most important thing,” Williams wrote via Instagram. “For all of you who need facts, I understand, but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them.”
Williams also clarified her connection to Falynn, adding, “Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been finalized. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everyone’s lives.” (Falynn appeared as a friend in season 13 of the show, and she and Williams briefly interacted.)
Many celebrity splits have rocked Hollywood over the years, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, as well as Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. That same month, Williams and Simon got engaged after a whirlwind romance. Simon took to his social media platform to deny allegations of infidelity.

I have an extra $25,000 for every receipt that proves this actually happened. Let’s look at some facts.”
Williams then surprised Bravo fans when she announced her departure RHOA in 2021 after almost a decade on the show. She later starred in Bravo’s short-lived series Porsha’s family mattersin which her engagement to Simon was central.
Earlier this month, Williams announced her return RHOA for season 16.
“I am incredibly grateful for the vision and trust NBCUniversal has placed in me to be a bigger part of their family,” she shared in a statement. “I’m looking forward to being back on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ and showing the world my new world!”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Williams’ longtime costar Kandi Burrus announced her departure from the show after 14 seasons.
