Pregnant Jana Kramer admits that previous miscarriages made her doubt her femininity

Pregnant Jana Kramer got candid as she discussed her heartbreaking past miscarriages, which she said prompted her reservations about trying for another child.

The mother of two, 39 – who is currently expecting her first child with new fiancé Allan Russell, 42 – shared her experience in a new episode of her Whine Down podcast.

The singer recalled a conversation with Russell telling him she might not be able to get pregnant again, saying she felt “broken” and questioned her womanhood.

“I mean, I know I’m a woman, but when you miscarry so often, you think, ‘Am I? Because I can’t even carry a baby,'” she explained.

Kramer told Russell, who has a 16-year-old son from a previous relationship, “If you really want one, I might not be your girl because I don’t know if I can physically carry another baby.”

Kramer is already mum to daughter Jolie, seven, and son Jace, four, with ex-husband Mike Caussin.

Russell then told her, “I have my son and my stepdaughter, but it would be so nice to have something together.”

Kramer told him, “I’d love that, but if it’s anything about really wanting, I don’t want you saying, ‘Oh, I should have been with someone else,’ because, as a woman who has a lot of has had miscarriages I feel broken.’

While reliving the thoughts she had regarding her miscarriages, she commented, “I don’t want to relive that again, feeling this way.” That was awful.’

Kramer also admitted that her pregnancy came as a “shock.”

“It was also bizarre, because I was bleeding so badly – like gushing blood. And I’m like, “Here we go, I’m having a miscarriage.” And I’m bawling my eyes out and he sees it — I couldn’t make it to the toilet,” she recalled.

“I’m bawling, and I’m like, ‘I told you I couldn’t do this,’ and I called my doctor and they said, ‘The baby’s still here, but you’re bleeding profusely.'”

The doctor then told her that “it’s 50/50” until the baby got bigger than the bleeding.

She then went on to praise Russell for the way he handled the situation, saying, “He’d take Jace to school, he’d do drop-offs.” He and Mike would coordinate football and drop-offs. I was so sick. [He got me] everything I wanted, food wise.’

The One Tree Hill veteran revealed on Thursday that she and Russell were expecting after six months of dating.

She shared the happy news on Instagram and shared a photo of the couple showing off the positive result of her home pregnancy test People.

“I didn’t think it would ever happen again, if I’m being honest,” shared the star, who is coming out with a new tell-all book.

“I’ve been through a lot, so this has just been really nice.”

“I let it all sink in. It’s everything I’ve wanted and more. Alan was so sweet. He wrote me this little sticky note that said, “You deserve the happy ending.”

Just two weeks ago, she shared with fans that she was engaged to Russell.

Kramer said Allan had asked Jana and her children to walk to the new home.

They were then sitting on the porch with the kids looking at the view when Allan said her name and got down on one knee and Jolie started jumping up and down.

Jana added that they both started crying and it was “very sentimental and it just felt right.”

The pair made their red carpet debut at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards in Los Angeles in March.

The beauty officially took to Instagram in January with the former pro soccer player having a much-loved social media post.

While on the red carpet, Jana stopped to talk to PEOPLE about her new relationship and her thoughts on ever getting married again.

‘I do, yes. I do, which is crazy, but I still believe in love,” the beauty expressed.

‘I’m happy. I have a great relationship. He is a wonderful man and I have wonderful, healthy children. I am blessed. I feel very blessed,” she said of her relationship with the soccer coach.

‘I’m in a new chapter and that feels really good. For the first time I really embrace it and try to realize that I deserve this new chapter.

The actress was previously married to Michael Gambino, Johnathan Schaech and Mike Caussin.
