Princess Michael of Kent, 78, slammed Meghan Markle for ‘making everything about race because that’s all anyone does these days,’ claims Omid Scobie in his bombshell new book

Omid Scobie has claimed that Princess Michael of Kent said the Duchess of Sussex has ‘made it all about race because that’s all everyone does these days’.

In his new book Endgame, published in Australia, Harry and Meghan’s ‘cheerleader-in-chief’ said, apparently quoting the royal family: ”Well… we could guess what someone like her would be like. Saw it coming from miles away.”

Speaking at a meeting in March 2021 at her Kensington Palace apartment, Princess Michael of Kent, wife of the [late] Queen’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, couldn’t stop himself from indulging in gossip with an aide about Meghan.

“Princess Michael has never really been a fan of Prince Harry’s wife,” the author added, before claiming the 78-year-old royal said: “Meghan has made it all about race because that’s all anyone does nowadays.”

The comments are said to have been shared after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s impressive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Omid Scobie has claimed that Princess Michael of Kent said the Duchess of Sussex (pictured at Variety’s Power of Women event at Mother Wolf in Los Angeles, California, on November 16, 2023) has “made it all about race because that’s all what everyone is doing these days’ .’

Meghan had claimed in the TV special that an unnamed member of the royal family talked about “how dark his (Archie’s) skin might be when he’s born.”

But it is now claimed that a second member of the extended royal family – who may not be a member of the royal family themselves – made similar comments.

The two people are not mentioned in Endgame, which is subtitled ‘Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival’.

But Scobie today claimed letters between King Charles III and Meghan reveal the names of two people who allegedly commented on Archie’s skin color.

The royal author, whose book is released in Britain at midnight tonight, said he could not reveal the identities of the two people for fear of legal reprisals in Britain.

But he said letters were exchanged between Charles and Meghan following the allegations in the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah.

In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America broadcast today, Mr Scobie was asked if he knew who made the comments about Archie’s skin colour.

He said: ‘I know who made the comments about Archie’s skin colour. The names were mentioned in letters between Meghan and Charles that were exchanged some time after the Oprah interview.

“We know from sources that Charles was shocked that Meghan felt this way. Those conversations were, and he wanted to be, a kind of representative of the family, having that conversation with her.

“And that’s why I personally think they can move forward with some kind of line of communication after that. Even though they may not agree.”

Scobie’s claims threaten to reignite the “royal racist” row that emerged after Harry and Meghan’s interview.

Meanwhile, Princess Michael of Kent came under fire for wearing a controversial ‘blackamoor’ brooch to the Queen’s Christmas lunch in 2017, where Meghan attended for the first time. Some commentators claimed the piece was ‘racist’.

Princess Michael publicly apologized at the time and the palace released a statement saying she was “deeply sorry and saddened that it was offensive.”

The royal was clearly seen wearing the jewelery on her coat as she drove through the gates of Buckingham Palace days before Christmas.

She did not sit at the same table as Meghan, but was said to have been introduced to her during the intimate, private meeting.

Blackamoor is a genre of figurines, small sculptures or jewelry largely depicting men, but sometimes women, with black skin, usually from the 18th century. Many will be worth £10,000 or more.

Elsewhere, the author claimed that the late Queen liked Kate Middleton because she was ‘coachable’, unlike ‘strong’ Princess Diana.

Harry and Meghan’s ‘cheerleader-in-chief’ took aim at The Princess of Wales in his new book Endgame, published in Australia.

In a chapter dedicated to the future queen, he says her workload is lower than that of other senior royals, and that she is “technically a part-time working royal.”

He claims she “does not plan to increase her workload for the next 10 to 15 years,” or until her children are adults, adding that she has been nicknamed “Katie Keen” because press reports from the palace make her less do by saying that they are ‘eager to learn’.

In an apparent swipe at the royal family, Scobie writes that Kate’s lifestyle is something most parents “could only dream of” and that Palace aides were afraid of forcing her into something that “made her uncomfortable” before the Queen died.

‘The late queen also took some time off throughout the year to recharge, but she was also known to carry out at least three hundred assignments every year.

“Sources say Kate remains ‘laser focused’ on her duty to the family, and then to the Crown.”

Scobie added that Kate also “often stumbles over her words” when speaking in public and that she “didn’t want to make” her critically acclaimed Blue Peter performance in June 2019.

Scobie describes it as a ‘low pressure, low stakes’ gig and says Kate was ‘nervous and ‘way out of her comfort zone’ before filming’.

He claims a source at Kensington Palace said she had ‘never been pressured’ until that point because she was ‘naturally timid’.

‘While other senior royals are out and about several times a week meeting people across the length and breadth of the country, Kate has long maintained a reduced work schedule, allowing her to tick off the required royal boxes while saving time on her duties as…a mother and a wife,” he writes.

Scobie adds that William manages to work around Kate’s lower workload by having her role first produce an heir and spare parts.

He adds that Palace gatekeepers are “vigilant” of Kate and never push her too hard “as the road to Queendom is a marathon, not a sprint.”

The book makes a series of claims about the royal family and looks at its future following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last September.
