Rebel Wilson: Humans only need “600 calories a day.”

“I’ve learned that you really only need about 600 calories a day,” said 43-year-old Wilson. Wilson attributed most people’s weight gain to getting hungry while “trapped at a desk or in their car” and turning to food to “deal with stress.” The co-founder of the Fluid app went on to claim, “You just don’t need all that food.”

Even with self-imposed restrictions, Wilson told the outlet that she occasionally indulges in ice cream as her “cheat food.”

“When I wasn’t watching my weight, I would sometimes sit down and eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. It’s exactly what I did. It was a habit,” she recalls. “But now I am much more careful. I’ll have about a third of a pint and I’ll eat it slowly. I don’t eat the whole pint at all – that’s in my past.

The Australian star – who rose to fame playing Fat Amy in the Pitch perfectly franchise – began her “health year” in early 2020. By November of that year, she had lost 60 pounds, but Wilson didn’t stop there.

After reaching her goal weight of 165 pounds, Wilson continued to maintain her healthier lifestyle, but stopped focusing on the scale.
