a recall message published by the office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) stated that the motorcycle jacket “poses a risk of choking as the silver rivets may become loose.”

“When detached, these small parts present a…
choking hazard to children 36 months and younger,” it continued.

The beige jacket is made for children from six months to three tears old, while the affected products were sold from July 2023 to December 2023.

Their recall “does not affect any other River Island rivet product,” the agency added.

Impex Food's Super Car with Light has been urgently recalled after it was found that the product “poses a serious risk of choking due to access to button cell batteries“.

Curious toddlers can put the small batteries in their mouths if they fall out of toys.

But once swallowed, these small coin batteries can cause life-threatening injuries.

They don't normally leach toxic chemicals, but they react to body fluids by releasing a substance, such as caustic soda, that can burn through tissue.

Take your child to the nearest emergency room if you think he or she has swallowed a button cell battery.

Impex Foods has recalled products sold since March 2022, with the following batch numbers:

The toys race cars with lights are available in blue, red and yellow, the OPSS said.

It said: “The battery compartment of the products is not secured, allowing easy access to the compartment and the coin cell batteries.

“The batteries can be placed in the mouth and swallowed, posing a choking hazard to young children and causing damage to the gastrointestinal tract.”

The agency advised parents who purchased the toys for their toddlers to confiscate them quickly and keep them out of the reach of children.

In another recall messagewarned the OPSS that the Satzuma Plug and Go Disco Bulb could put users at risk of electric shock.

The rotating disco ball sold at Boots may put people “at risk of electric shock as the construction of the lamp and adapter elbow gives the user access to live parts”, the agency said.

Finally, a popular Aldi fragrance was pulled from shelves due to a manufacturing error that could cause the glass bottle to crack and put users at risk of cuts.

The Lacura His & Her Cozmo Eau de Parfum were both removed from store shelves as a precaution, the OPSS said, telling users to be wary of bottles with the following batch numbers:

  • AL/GSI/P23-4 (are)
  • AL/GSI/P23-5 (hair)

Aldi said it had recalled all affected products from its stores.
