Who knows what Jennifer Lopez made of the Quality Street bowl in her hotel room.

The star reportedly earned £3.9million for singing and staying at the grand opening of One&Only One Za’abeel last month.

But when I arrived four days later – one of the first paying guests to visit the new ultra-luxury resort in Dubai – I was surprised to find complimentary Orange Cremes, Green Triangles and Purple Ones among the champagnes and single malts in my minibar.

The West Yorkshire-made sweets aren’t the strangest extra on offer.

While its sister property, Atlantis The Royal, has gold-plated toothbrushes for guests, One&Only One Za’abeel goes one step further.

Some suites have soundproof walls and recording facilities; others give guests a ‘free Longevity Scan Index’ upon arrival (no, me neither); one, for £22,500 a night, even includes a ‘man cave’ for guests.

My favorite would probably be the one with a free cocktail party for eight people – if only I had remembered to bring seven friends.

As it is, I stay in just one ‘room’ – even though it’s still ridiculously luxurious, with a walk-through closet, a sofa with so many thick cushions I have to remove eight of them to sit, a toilet with seventeen buttons to to control the ‘intimate cleaning’ functions, and a bath large enough for three people.

It’s best not to speculate about which of these luxury items was the big draw for Naomi Campbell, Idris Elba, David Gandy or Emma Radacanu, who attended the hotel’s opening weekend with J-Lo.

That pool, overlooking Dubai’s glittering sci-fi skyline, is a 53-story pinnacle.

The hotel is housed in one of two 300-foot towers, meaning guests can look down on ant-sized cars speeding along the 12-lane highway below.

But it also means I spend a lot of time in elevators. (Safety measures mean you’ll have to change elevators to get from your room to restaurants and bars.)

And while One &Only One Za’abeel is more convenient to Dubai’s business district than the beach, don’t leave your swimwear at home.

On the 4th floor is a palm-lined swimming pool with hot and cold running waiters. It’s a beautiful place – and the private area is where Campbell/Gandy types can relax, hidden by thick palm fronds and a fence for about a hundred pounds extra.

Better yet is the spectacular infinity pool on the hotel’s 27th floor, 200 meters long and 100 meters high in the air, atop the longest cantilever bridge in the world. It has cabanas, swim-up bars and a clubby Japanese-Peruvian bar/restaurant.

There are 11 restaurants. Granted, there is some silliness: Thai-style fortune telling at DuangDy; waiters in straitjackets at avant-garde StreetXO; and a late-night ‘snacks’ menu at Sphere, with a £2,500 portion of caviar.

After a few days I’m half a stone heavier, 100 percent happier, and my hand luggage consists mostly of stolen Quality Street.

I bet if you checked J-Lo’s, hers would be too.

‘Premium Economy wordt zo’n goed ontvangen cabine’, zegt Justin Penny, hoofd luchtvaart bij reisbureau Flight Centre.

Premium hutten hebben echter de neiging om de duimen omhoog te steken.

Upbringing and business dreams

Nigerian Kika was born in North West London in December 1987 and was the youngest of four ‘eccentric’ children, as she details on her website. 

In an interview with Femmetrepreneur in 2017, Kika explained how her friends call her ‘Keeks or Ronks’ and described herself as ‘fun, warm, fashionable and vibrant’.

Praising her upbringing, Kika told the publication: ‘My mother is my biggest supporter and has inspired me to be the ambitious, tenacious devotee of Good Hair. She taught me good work ethic and how to be a go getter!’ 

Setting her sights on the business world from a young age, Kika applied to study Business & Marketing at University College Birmingham. 

During her time at university, Kika met her business partner Chioma and the pair bonded over their shared love of wigs and weaves.

Following their graduation, Kika and Chioma set up Good Hair in 2009 and began extensively promoting it on Facebook – where they amassed a following of 135,000 in just two years.

As well as selling their hair extensions online, the pair also set up a salon in Lagos – which also offers nail, lash and male grooming services.

In January 2018, Kika and Chioma set up the restaurant Brass & Copper in Lagos, which they described as having a ‘metallic Scandi-esque vibe’. 

Kika’s ‘arrest warrant’

In early 2020, Kika found herself embroiled in scandal in Nigeria after being accused of leaking a nude photo of a fashion designer, who is married to a billionaire businessman.

After damaging stories about the designer emerged in local media, the journalists responsible claimed Kika was their source – which the social media star has always denied.

Nigerian publication The Will reported that the social media star was wanted by police for questioning but had ‘taken refuge in Ghana’ at the time before later returning to the UK.

In March 2020, Kika addressed the allegations against her on her Instagram Stories.

She said in a statement: ‘I wish to inform the general public that I’ve seen what is out there against me and my person. But anyway, I’m not ready to join issues with anybody.

‘As it stands, I’m in discussions with my lawyer and I’m making a complaint to the British authorities to be aware that there is also a threat to my life. At this point, I’m not safe anymore. I’m aware that I’ve been reported to the DSS. 

‘I know my rights and the law is going to take its cause (sic). I’m going to follow through the due process to fight my battle.

But not relent, I’m not scared of blackmail or intimidation from those trying to hide their atrocities.

At the appropriate time I will speak my truth with facts. I know my rights, and I will fight for my rights. Stay tuned…’

Kika does not appear to have ever addressed the allegations again. In an interview with Nigerian publication The Guardian, Kika revealed how she spent the pandemic in the UK.

She explained: ‘I’ve stayed very close to my family. We all decided to quarantine together, which was the best decision we made as we went through all the mental and emotional turmoils of a global pandemic together.’ 

Slammed for ‘Kika Experience’ 

Kika now splits her time between London and Dubai and has amassed over 593,000 followers on Snapchat.

The social media star has been named a ‘Top 5 UK Snapchat Star’, having racked up over 100m views on the platform.

In 2022, the star hosted an event in London called ‘The Kika Experience’ where followers could pay £225-a-ticket for an exclusive Q&A with the influencer.

On her blog, Kika wrote: ‘By the end of the experience, you’ll walk away with a playbook telling you all you need to know creating and leveraging valuable relationships across your career.’ 

On her YouTube channel The Way Up with Sol, social media star Solange criticised Kika for asking her fans to pay £225 for a ticket without specifying who the panellists at the experience would be.

Solange said: ‘Even though [her fans] want to get that experience, they might need a little more explanation because there are so many scammers out there.’

In February 2023, Kika was pictured rubbing shoulders with ex British Vogue editor Edward Enninful at a Snapchat and Vogue augmented reality fashion exhibition opening in London.

She wrote on her blog: ‘I had a chance to talk with the amazing Edward Enninful, and at one point, I even locked eyes with the legendary Anna Wintour herself who was impressed by my [Victoria Beckham] shimmery dress. It was unbelievable to be in the same room as such an icon.’ 

In recent years, Kika has worked with Tiffany & Co, Tom Ford and Chanel. She has also set up the Kika Asunde Foundation, which provides mentoring, accessible financing and ‘entrepreneurship training’ to local communities. 

Anthony Joshua ‘romance’ 

Although it is not known when the pair met, Anthony Joshua put on a very cosy display with British hair salon owner and influencer Kika Osunde following his knockout match in Dubai earlier this month.

The boxing champ cuddled up to the star as they quad biked through the desert after sharing a ringside kiss two round demolition of Francis Ngannou in nearby Saudi Arabia.

According to The Sun AJ rushed to Kika in the crowed following the match and asked: ‘How are you Kika? I haven’t seen you in so long! How are you?’.

As she replied: ‘Congratulations. I’m good,’ before planting a kiss on his cheek.

They later went racing through the Dubai dunes with Kika wrapping her arms around the athlete and resting her head on his back. 

According to the publication Anthony had been riding alone, with Kika in a nearby buggy with pals, before she jumped on to join him.

A source said: ‘They looked very cosy and like they were having fun with each other.’ 

The pair also dined together at swanky Lebanese restaurant Babati Lounge and posed with pals for a snap outside the venue. 

A spokesman for AJ told MailOnline: ‘Anthony is in a relationship…. with professional boxing. He has no time for extra commitments. He is having a break from boxing and will return to the gym this week. Sadly the claims of a relationship are just rumours.’

Anthony, who shares eight-year-old son JJ with ex partner Nicole Osbourne, has previously been linked to Gigi Hadid and Rita Mahrez, the then wife of Man City player Riyad Mahrez. 

Last year Anthony revealed why he still lived with his mother insisting that any future partner would struggle to convince him to move out.

The boxer, who moved back into his mother’s two bedroom ex-council flat in 2017 sat down with Louis Theroux to discuss his close relationship with his family and warned future girlfriends they’ll need to compete with his mum, Yeta Odusanya.

‘I still live with my mum,’ the two-time world champion told the BBC. ‘In our culture, we grew up in our own family home, we support our parents. 

‘Why am I going to move out and leave my mum by herself, for some girl? Family is the most important thing. 

‘When a girl gets with me, she ain’t just marrying me, she’s marrying my family.’

The grounded boxing star, who is not publicly in a relationship, admitted that he likes to keep his personal life private as he cannot live up to the expectations people have of him.

Thousands of Bond fans have cast their votes on who they want to replace Daniel Craig in the spy film franchise.

And topping the list is Luther star Idris Elba, who was the overwhelming favorite to perform after a survey of 2,000 Britons.

In the poll, commissioned by Lottoland, the 51-year-old beat the likes of Venom star Tom Hardy, Superman’s Henry Cavill and Oscar-winning man with the golden gong, Cillian Murphy, for the prized role.

Among the other top 20 A-listers who suggested they might be in the running were some left-wing stars such as House of the Dragons’ Emilia Clarke, James Norton, Emily Blunt and Helen Mirren. The sun revealed.

But while Idris was the first choice, fans may be left disappointed after the actor ruled himself out of playing the role last year so he could focus on his deal with Netflix, where he is starring in Luther: The Fallen Sun.

Idris brought up the ongoing discussions about the takeover of Ian Fleming’s famous British spy in February 2023.

When asked about the Luther film at the World Government Summit in Dubai, he said: “It’s very dark.

‘We’ve been working on the television show for about ten years and so the natural ambition is to bring it to the big screen, and so here we are with the first film.

“You know, a lot of people talk about another character that starts with J and ends with B, but I’m not going to be that guy.

‘I will be John Luther. That’s who I am.’

In August 2022, it was reported that Idris had left ‘years of talks’ with film bosses to take over the famous role.

He was the bookies’ favorite to replace Daniel Craig as super spy, but is keen to pursue other roles – and has even submitted a proposed list to producer Barbara Broccoli of actors who would play 007.

A source said The sun: ‘Fans and Barbara wanted Idris, but he wants to create something for himself.

“However, he has put forward names to play 007. He is ‘informally’ involved in the decision-making process, because he has been in discussions with producers for so long.’

MailOnline contacted representatives of Idris and James Bond producers at the time.

At the premiere of his film The Harder They Fall in 2021, when asked if he is considered the next 007, Idris said: ‘No, I’m not going to be James Bond.’

He told it too The Express about the rumors: “I’m probably the most famous Bond actor in the world, and I didn’t even play the part.”

Idris then added: “Enough is enough. I can’t talk about it anymore.’

Despite this, Ladbrokes awarded the actor a 3/1 for taking on the role after Daniel announced that 2021’s No Time To Die would be his final appearance as the character.

The bookmakers said at the time: ‘We have seen a huge interest in Idris Elba and have reduced his odds accordingly, so much so that he is now the clear favorite in our view to replace Daniel Craig as 007.’

Tom Hardy at 5/1, Rege-Jean Page 4/1 and Richard Madden 20/1 were also rumored to be in the running.

James Bond producer Barbara previously admitted that it will take a long time to choose Craig’s 007 replacement.

The filmmaker emphasized that it’s not as simple as choosing an actor to take on the iconic role of the friendly spy.

Speaking to Variety, Barbara said: ‘It’s a big decision.

‘It’s not just playing a role. It’s about a whole rethink of where we’re going.”

Earlier that same year, the blockbuster franchise’s producer confirmed that Idris was “part of the conversation” to become the next 007.

She told Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, “Well, we know Idris, we’re friends with him, and he’s a great actor.”

“And you know, it’s been part of the conversation, but it’s always hard to have a conversation when there’s someone in the seat.”

Barbara added that Bond bosses are in no rush to name the actor as they wanted the cast and crew to enjoy Craig’s latest film No Time To Die.

She said: ‘I think we’ve decided that until No Time To Die has had its run and Daniel has been able to – well, we’ve all been able to enjoy and reap the benefits of Daniel’s wonderful tenure, we’re not going to doing. think of or talk about someone else.’

The producer also hinted at a reimagining of the franchise. explaining: ‘It’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re trying to figure out where to go with him, we’ll talk about that.”

Irish Wish follows a New York-based book editor named Maddie (Lohan), who is secretly in love with her star author Paul (Alexander Vlahos).

However, he falls in love with Maddie’s girlfriend Emma (Elizabeth Tan) and they get engaged.

Curry, who plays Maddie’s best friend and bridesmaid Heather, said the film, released March 15, is one where “you can get lost for 90 minutes and have a good laugh.”

A fitness model has revealed how her life drastically changed after adopting the ‘carnivore’ diet for an entire month.  

Petrina Barber, 41, who splits her time between London and Dubai, decided to cut out all processed foods and carbohydrates to help with her stoma output. 

The mother-of-one became an awareness campaigner and founded her business Beyond The Stoma after treatment for cervical cancer nine years ago led to her needing a stoma bag. 

With her new diet, that involved eating only meat, fish, eggs and a little cheese, Petrina said she wasn’t aiming to lose weight but instead was looking to improve her athletic performance energy levels by solely eating animal products. 

Before going on the diet, rice, sourdough, jam doughnuts, and chocolate were favourites in her life – and the initial days saw her struggle without having her go-to snacks. 

But after just one week, Petrina said she lost weight, her craving for snacks disappeared, her sleep improved and people said she looked healthier. 

Writing for FEMAIL, she delves into the struggles and positives of the diet week-by-week… 

First week

In the first week of starting the diet, I found myself faced with immediate challenges.

On the very first day, we were engaged in an all-day activity with my son, surrounded by the temptation of burgers and fries. I hadn’t adequately prepared for this diet transition, and my usual diet leaned heavily on good carbs. 

As a result, I quickly realised the need to increase my intake of quality-sourced protein and consequently, calories. Those initial days were tough, I was underprepared, lacked meal planning, and struggled to come up with food ideas. On top of that, I had an awful headache and just a general feeling of tiredness.

I soon realised that I was a snacker. I usually had a slice of toast or a jam doughnut almost every day, and without those now on the menu, I had to think through my options. Snacking on meat didn’t seem appealing at first, and what I learned was that it was important to fill yourself up at each individual meal.

After the first few days, my cravings vanished, along with the dips in energy that would often follow my previous snacking habits. It dawned on me that I no longer desired snacks while following the carnivore diet, I found myself constantly full and content.

Within the initial four days, I lost 2kg, and though I ultimately lost a total of 4kg, my weight eventually stabilised. 

Since I hadn’t aimed to lose weight, I shifted my focus to maintaining it. This was a natural progression for me, and I had no desire to continue losing weight beyond what my body naturally adjusted to.

I felt terrible during week one. I was exhausted – I thought it might be the case for a few days, but not as long as it went on. I still had a pounding headache and a foggy memory. 

But I was fully aware it takes one to two weeks to transition your body to the new diet as it needs to reconfigure how you get glucose from switching fuel supplies.

I was still training at the gym, and my workouts were at the same level as they were previously, so I saw no difference in training performance even though I felt tired.

On day five, I received vitamin D and B12 shots and underwent blood work. I opt for injections as my body, due to health issues and pelvic radiation disease, struggles to absorb supplements orally.

Some people do not deal well with fibre, especially after bowel resection, so I gave up fruits and vegetables around two years ago. 

It’s common with certain medical conditions they exacerbate symptoms and so the definition of a ‘healthy’ diet is always relative ultimately. 

Despite a common belief suggesting potential nutritional deficiencies, regular blood tests have shown no issues as long as I maintain my B12 and VitD shots. I believe it’s perfectly plausible to eliminate them from a diet and still be healthy. Everyone is just different.

The first weekend on the diet was so hard. I wanted to eat the usual foods I associate with family time on weekends, especially doughnuts. 

I also could have eaten better choices at lunch because they were too low in fat. Chicken and egg whites didn’t make me as full, so while it was enjoyable, I struggled with not feeling full afterward. 

Then I had to make avocado toast for my son, and I wanted to eat some. I love the taste of avocado and carbs. When we got home I felt tired and lacking any energy and I struggled not to have a jam doughnut. It was more out of habit and fatigue rather than a genuine desire. 

Later, we went out for dinner, and it was incredible. I indulged in beef carpaccio and steak, leaving me feeling very satisfied and full.

Second week

In week two, I found it easier to fall asleep and remain asleep. Already, I noticed changes in how my clothes fit. I appeared leaner with more muscle definition.

I read lots of advice suggesting daily exercise during the diet. However, I did the opposite and pulled back on my workouts to conserve energy but increased the intensity of the workouts and have more active rest and recovery time instead. 

This helped me stick to the routine and make it through the early days of the diet feeling less fatigued because I knew I wasn’t running myself into the ground. My workouts were powerful, consisting of weight training three times a week and one cardio session.

I went out for lunch with a group to socialise and it was easy to select food without standing out like I needed to eat certain foods. 

I simply modified some starters and had a large steak for lunch. I didn’t look or feel like a social pariah. That was a huge benefit. I had more comments with lunch on how well I looked.

I had no cravings after lunch for dessert or anything sweet, which usually happens to me. But, while my husband was stuffed after lunch,  I needed to eat more. So, I had some quick-to-cook burgers.

Third week

Knowing what I’m going to eat, planning in advance and buying the food ahead of time helped me stick to the diet more easily this week.

But I was shocked at how easy it is actually to under eat. I started the diet by tracking what I ate, and I am glad that I did because it showed me I was way off the mark.

I wasn’t picking the right foods initially. I’m on the diet for stoma output and because I believe it will have implications for my overall health – not to lose weight. 

That said, anyone switching to a carnivore diet would experience significant decreases in weight, as it’s very, very hard to overeat on this diet when you cut out all processed food and carbs. My concern was that I would drop too much weight, but the fact that I have found equilibrium is encouraging. 

I love the food. It felt relatively easy for me to eat protein all day, every day, as it’s my favourite type of food.

Fourth week

For my final week, the people around me were full of compliments. Two people noticed my skin was much brighter and commented on my face. My husband said I look healthier.

At the end of the month, I am active overall and doing three high-performance strength training sessions a week. I dropped cardio. I have a lot of energy, and that’s no longer an issue but I do not want to lose more weight.

I don’t get those periods of hunger or need to snack anymore. I used to eat breakfast, and I would want something afterwards, like another slice of toast. Or I would have dinner and want something sweet afterward. 

I’ve found that I don’t have cravings, which is shocking because rice, sourdough, jam doughnuts, and some chocolate were daily staples in my diet. I thought I would be folding under the pressure of wanting a jam doughnut by now, but I’m doing OK.

I have realised how organised you need to be on this diet. I am usually very organised when it comes to food, but if you don’t plan and prepare, you are unlikely to make it through one day, let alone a week. It’s not a diet where food is easily accessible in an emergency. You can’t just pick a sandwich up and eat the filling.

Like with any diet, you’ll probably already have some entrenched habits that will be hard to break. For me, there was a lot around the weekends, and I associate eating with my family, so that was very difficult. 

The carnivore diet is no joke, especially with the difficulty of the first few weeks and the side effects. I can understand why many people abandon the diet or find it too challenging.

But for me, overall, I felt it was a huge success, and I am sticking to the diet for the foreseeable future.

First he ran seven marathons – more than 300 kilometers – in seven days. Then in 2021 he ran 100 miles in just 24 hours.

In 2022, he ran seven ultramarathons in seven days, covering as much as 60 kilometers per day for a week.
