‘Fight cancer’! Princess Of Whales Kate Middleton reveals she is undergoing chemotherapy treatment

London: Britain’s Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, announced on Friday that she is undergoing preventive chemotherapy. Post-tests after her major abdominal surgery in January revealed cancer. Notably, Prince William’s wife was hospitalized for two weeks in the month of January for what was described as a successful planned operation for a non-cancerous condition. Now, the 42-year-old has revealed in the video that she is suffering from cancer, stating that she is doing well and getting stronger.

Britain’s Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, announced on Friday that she is undergoing preventive chemotherapy. Post-tests after her major abdominal surgery in January revealed cancer. Notably, Prince William’s wife was hospitalized for two weeks in January for what was described as a successful planned operation for a non-cancerous condition. Now, the 42-year-old has revealed in the video that she is suffering from cancer, stating that she is doing well and getting stronger.

In a video filed on Wednesday, Kate stated: “My medical team therefore recommended that I undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
“This obviously came as a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she said.

In February, King Charles also announced he was undergoing cancer treatment, meaning he had to postpone his public royal duties.
Kate’s office, Kensington Palace, said no further details will be shared about the type of cancer. The office said in a statement that the Princess of Whales is responding well to treatment and is on track to recovery. Preventive chemotherapy had started in February.
The palace said in a statement that Kate would not resume her official duties until after Easter. However, the princess’s long absence has led to intense speculation on the internet.

The royal couple wanted to keep the cancer a secret until their children – Prince George and Princess Charlotte – started their school holidays, which started on Friday.

“It took me time to recover from major surgery before I could start my treatment. But most importantly, it took us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them, and to reassure them that I will be fine,” Kate said in the video.

“As I told them; I am doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit,” she further said.

The fight will see Paul, 27, face Tyson, 57, and will be broadcast live on Netflix.

It is unclear as of yet whether it will be a professional or an exhibition fight.

But Paul was quick to disparage online rumors about the rules of battle.

It was claimed on TikTok that some quirky additions would be made to help the YouTuber out.

One of the stipulations discussed was that Paul would be allowed to wear a headguard while Tyson would not.

While another claimed he could tag his WWE star brother Logan.

Appears on the Regarding podcast, Paul could barely hide his annoyance at the claims.

He said: “It’s so sad that millions of people believe that. It’s fucking absurd. Obviously, none of that is true.

“They’re so damn stupid. Anyone who thinks so should not vote.

“Actually, this is what I was thinking: There should be hidden tests throughout life that qualify you to vote or not.

Mike Tyson tipped to ‘knock Jake Paul into a pile of dust’ with brutal punches ‘like being hit by a wing’

‘And they don’t know whether they’re taking a test or not.

“The fact that these people not only drive around our streets, but can also vote? They drive cars there! They’re stupid as f*** and it’s sad.

“We live in a fucked up world. Man is getting dumber and dumber every day. It’s crazy.”

Paul extended his professional boxing record to 9-1 in February when he defeated Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico.

While former heavyweight king Tyson has not fought professionally since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005.

But he did face Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition in November 2020.

Current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is a fan of the controversial Paul vs. Tyson match.

He told The pounding ground: “I love boxing.

“You have a legend in Mike Tyson. You have a YouTube boxer who came into the game and blew it up and he has millions of followers and millions of views and millions of eyes.

“Good, bad or indifferent. Some people love him, some people hate him.

“So I think it’s a very good spectacle for boxing. It brings a lot of people to the game.

“And listen, who am I to say, ‘Oh, Mike Tyson shouldn’t be boxing or Jake Paul shouldn’t be boxing,’ good luck to them.”

“They’re both going to make what I call a lot of money from it. So that’s not the point?’

The breakfast at Toyota’s annual dealer meeting in Las Vegas last fall was an exclusive, invitation-only affair, with attendees told to cover their cellphone cameras with red stickers.

Stephen Ciccone, Toyota’s top lobbyist, spoke. He said the industry is facing an existential crisis — not because of the economy or fuel prices, but because of tighter tailpipe pollution restrictions proposed in the United States. The rules were “bad for the country, bad for consumers and bad for the auto industry,” he said, according to a memo he later distributed to Toyota dealers and was reviewed by The New York Times.

“For more than two years, Toyota and our dealer partners have stood alone in the fight against unrealistic BEV mandates,” he wrote, using the acronym for battery-electric vehicles. “We have received a lot of hits from environmentalists, the media and some politicians. But we have not – and will not – back down.”

On Wednesday, the Environmental Protection Agency finalized tailpipe emissions rules that will require automakers to meet stringent new average emissions limits. The rules are among the most important aimed at combating climate change in United States history.

But the rules relaxed key elements of an earlier, stricter proposal. In particular, the final rules favored hybrid cars, cars that run on both gasoline and electricity, giving a bigger role to a market that Toyota dominates.

It looked like Toyota had come out on top.

Toyota, once a leader in clean cars, has stepped up its role as a voice of warning against too-rapid electrification of the auto industry, using its lobbying and PR power to oppose a rapid change it says experts is crucial in the fight against climate change.

That’s a significant change for an automaker that pioneered hybrid technology in the late 1990s and gave the world the Prius, a high-mileage vehicle embraced by early adopters of cleaner cars.

But in recent years, Toyota has been betting on a continued role for hybrid and gasoline cars, as well as hydrogen-powered, non-battery vehicles, seemingly leaving Toyota in hot water as electric car sales began to rise rapidly.

In a statement on Friday, Toyota said it has long maintained that “the best way to reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible as quickly as possible is by offering consumers a variety of choices to meet their needs.”

Toyota sided with President Donald J. Trump in 2019 against an effort by California to impose stricter rules on auto emissions. And it has opposed policies around the world to force automakers to switch to selling electric vehicles.

Toyota also stood out among its fellow automakers for starkly opposing exhaust rules proposed by the Biden administration last year that would require automakers to meet stringent new average emissions limits for their product lines. For example, Ford tried to delay some of its compliance dates even though it had largely agreed to the overall numbers.

Toyota absolutely objected. The rules were “arbitrary and capricious,” based on “error-filled data sets” and would impose “significant costs” on gasoline vehicles, the automaker said in comments on the proposed rules. Battery supply chains, vehicle charging infrastructure and car buyers were not yet ready for electric vehicles, the company said.

In January, Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda said he believed that electric vehicles would at best reach a 30 percent market share, with the rest of the market taken up by hybrids, hydrogen fuel cell cars and gasoline vehicles.

“When we think of Toyota, people think it’s technologically great and green — and they deserve that,” said Margo T. Oge, former director of the EPA’s Office of Transportation Air Quality, who has advised both automakers and environmental groups about clean cars. policy. But lately, she says, Toyota has been using “all kinds of strategies to slow down.”

Toyota said it had been steadily calling on the EPA to provide more flexibility to comply with regulations. And it said its argument prevailed, noting that several companies have recently announced plans to offer more hybrid cars instead of electric cars. “It appears that the industry has moved toward the position that Toyota has consistently held,” the report said.

It also called the EPA’s final rules “aggressive” and said significant challenges remain in complying with them.

In spreading its message, Toyota leveraged the power of dealers, both through Mr. Ciccone’s outreach to Toyota dealers and in other ways. The company’s dealers, for example, played a role in drumming up support for a separate letter-writing campaign aimed at urging the Biden administration to be cautious about electric vehicles, according to two people with knowledge of that effort. Toyota dealers in at least two states distributed the letter at dealer meetings, they said.

That effort culminated in a letter to President Biden in January from nearly 4,000 auto dealers in 50 states, complaining about poor sales of electric cars and urging the administration to “pump the brakes” on its push for more vehicles on batteries.

However, the letter was investigated after some dealers who appeared in it claimed they never signed up. Among them was Duncan Roberts, majority owner of the Portland dealership of Swedish automaker Polestar. “It’s embarrassing. I didn’t approve of it,” he said in an interview.

Toyota said the list was “compiled through dealer-to-dealer contact,” and that it did not believe Toyota dealers played an outsized role.

Sales of electric vehicles have slowed in recent months, but are still growing much faster than sales of vehicles that use fossil fuels. Nevertheless, the dealers’ letter provided ammunition for other enemies of stricter pollution standards.

The US fuel petrochemical manufacturerswhich represents the nation’s largest gasoline producers, urged Congress to support it a Republican-backed bill that would limit the EPA’s ability to regulate car emissions, citing the letter. During the Trump administration, the group also waged a covert campaign to rewrite clean car rules.

Toyota has said it is investing more than $17 billion in electrifying its fleet, an amount that includes investments in hybrid and electric vehicles, and has launched one electric car model in the United States. But Toyota dominates in hybrids, with roughly a 40 percent market share in the United States, giving the country an incentive to keep hybrids mainstream, analysts say. It invested heavily in technology; Early on, Toyota lost money on its Priuses for a decade before it started making a profit on hybrids in 2001.

And hybrids are selling well now as some buyers shy away from buying all-battery cars because they worry about running out of power or not being able to find convenient places to charge.

The revised EPA rules announced earlier this week “work for automakers who are investing heavily in hybrids,” said Mark Schirmer, director of Industry Insights at research firm Cox Automotive. “And Toyota is certainly leading the way.”

Toyota has also tried to turn it into a business other car manufacturers with its hybrid technologyoffering some of its patents for free in the hope that rivals will turn to Toyota for its expertise and to buy parts.

Toyota’s focus on producing hybrids, rather than fully battery-powered cars, is also better for the environment, the company says.

Mr. Ciccone, the Toyota lobbyist, laid out this reasoning in his memo to dealers: The amount of rare minerals needed to make one electric vehicle takes just one gasoline vehicle off the road. But that same amount could produce six plug-in hybrids that need an electrical outlet, or 90 hybrid cars that don’t need to be plugged into an electrical outlet, he said. And, he said, Chinese dominance in the battery supply chain was a major problem.

“It is a no-brainer” to prioritize hybrids over electric vehicles, Mr. Ciccone said in the letter.

Some experts dispute the figures. Rachel Muncrief, acting director of the International Council on Clean Transportation, a research organization, said Toyota assumed a shortage of mineral supplies. did not materialize due to improved battery technology and other changes.

Electric vehicles emit much less greenhouse gases and other pollutants, studies have shown, when taking into account their production and use throughout their lifespan. “There’s no competition,” she said.

Toyota’s math has won followers. GreenerCars, which recently assessed the emissions of 1,200 cars on sale this year, gave his highest rating to Toyota’s ‘plug-in’ hybrid Prius, meaning it can be charged from a wall socket, but can also run on its petrol engine. However, experts point out that how clean a plug-in hybrid is can vary greatly depending on how often it is driven as a petrol car or if it runs on electricity.

Some changes to the EPA’s auto pollution rule appeared to be based on new data indicating that plug-in hybrids today run more on battery power than in the past, which would make them cleaner.

Toyota had said it planned to share such data with the administration. The EPA did not immediately comment on whether Toyota’s data had influenced the final rules.

Dr. Numerous UC Davis said it was clear the auto companies were in a tough spot. “They are taking the biggest risk with this transition to electric vehicles,” he said. “So I understand their opposition, I understand why they’re nervous about it.”

Coral Davenport reported from Washington.

Eisner gave DealBook an exclusive statement:

In 1983, Disney was attacked by corporate raiders who tried to take over the company. That would have ended the Disney Company as we know it, as it was proposed to sell the studio, theme parks and hotels. The board turned to me and Frank Wells and another story was written, one that was continued by Bob Iger and his management team.

A similar situation exists today, so let’s not forget the lessons of 40 years ago. Bringing in someone who has no experience in the company or industry to disrupt Bob and his eventual successor is not only playing with fire, but also with earthquakes and hurricanes. The company is now in great hands and Disney shareholders should vote for the Disney slate.

Others have weighed in, following the proxy advisory firm Glass Lewis and Disney’s top individual shareholder, filmmaker George Lucas (both of whom supported Disney and its current chief, Bob Iger):

  • Laurene Powell Jobs a prominent Disney shareholder, who backed Iger: “He is a once-in-a-generation leader with an ambitious vision for the future, and we as shareholders are fortunate to have him lead this cherished company at such a pivotal time in its history.”

  • Institutional Shareholder Services, the other influential proxy advisor, who recommended that shareholders vote Peltz onto the board. Peltz, as a major shareholder, “could complement the succession process and provide other investors with assurance that the board is properly involved this time. He could also help evaluate future capital allocation decisions.”

ISS recommended withholding votes for an incumbent board member, Maria Elena Lagomasino, citing “multi-year concerns” about her role on the compensation committee. (Interestingly, the company did not recommend that shareholders add Jay Rasulo, the former Disney CFO, who also nominated Peltz as a director candidate.)

The regional banking crisis triggered a wave of consolidation just over a year ago. Now regulators want to tighten scrutiny of big bank takeovers — which could worsen the chances for deals like Capital One’s $35 billion bid for Discover Financial.

The FDIC is proposing the first overhaul of takeover rules since the 2008 financial crisis. Below the new frameworkwhich would apply to deals that create a bank with more than $100 billion in assets, regulators would have to consider the effects of the transaction on public interest grounds, including financial stability, communities and competition.

That would represent a major shift. Bank merger reviews have traditionally focused on deposits and branches. But Jonathan Kanter, the Justice Department’s antitrust chief, said Thursday that lenders now offer so many different services that a more comprehensive approach was needed to take into account how a deal would actually affect competition. (The Office of the Comptroller of the CurrencY is also pushing for rules to prevent big banks from buying rivals.)

Last month, Mr. Miller’s group sued Arizona’s largest public school district, headquartered in Mesa, for what the amended complaint described as “an astonishing situation that would once have been unthinkable.” It alleged that the district’s policy was to “encourage” students to change their gender identification and prohibit them from notifying parents if students chose to do so. The complaint went on to predict several outcomes of such policies, including sexual violence and genital mutilation.

Mesa County Attorney Robert D. Haws declined to comment, citing the pending status of the lawsuit. But in his motion to dismiss the case filed this month, he said the “parade of potential atrocities” proposed by America First Legal had gone “completely off the rails.” Mr. Haws also said the school district was simply following a policy that prohibits discrimination, including against transgender students.

Some of the lawsuits being pursued by Mr. Miller’s group suffer from questionable timing, at least from a legal perspective. In April 2021, America First Legal sued the San Antonio City Council for “cancelling” Chick-fil-A (whose chairman, Dan T. Cathy, opposes gay marriage) by refusing to give the chain a contract at the airport of the city. But the complaint was filed six months after Chick-fil-A, which has more than 40 restaurants in the San Antonio area, abandoned its plans for an airport location.

If the Chick-fil-A complaint seemed overdue, a more recent filing by America First Legal might seem premature. In October, the group sued New York University on behalf of a first-year law student, a white man, who claimed that if he applied for the school’s law review, he would most likely be rejected because of his race and gender. The school’s attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss, arguing that the lawsuit involves “fanciful speculation” about a selection process that has yet to take place.

Kenji Yoshino, a law professor at NYU, said America First Legal’s track record seems to indicate “more heat than light.” The group has yet to argue a case before the Supreme Court, and more than two years have passed since it succeeded in thwarting the Biden administration’s agenda.

Last week, during a hearing in federal court in the Trump documents caseJudge Aileen M. Cannon rejected Mr. Miller’s group’s argument in an amicus brief that the case should be dismissed because the National Archives and Records Administration did not have the authority to make a criminal referral. She called it “a red herring.”

The confrontation between Texas and the federal government over whether the state can enforce its own immigration policies reflects a broader and recurring feature of American politics: A number of hot-button issues have become proxy fights over who gets to decide.

During the Trump administration, Democratic-led states like California and blue cities like New York waged legal battles over their right to pass sanctuary laws to protect migrants. Now the conflict over whether Texas can arrest and deport migrants is just part of a larger campaign that Red states have directed against the Biden administration.

A coalition of Republican attorneys general has also gone to court to thwart administration efforts to regulate methane emissions from oil and gas drilling, to block a program that allows humanitarian access to migrants from specific countries, and to stop an attempt to crack down on the refugee crisis. including weapon accessories.

The balance of power between the national government and states has been a source of tension in the United States since its founding, leading to the Civil War. But in the 21st century, as partisan polarization has increased, it has morphed into a new dynamic, with states controlled by the party opposing the president regularly pushing the boundaries.

The political issues vary—and include topics like abortion, gun control, gay marriage, and even the legalization of marijuana—but the larger pattern is clear: Whenever one party gains control of the central government, the other party uses its control several states try to oppose national policies.

“We are seeing things we have never seen in modern times,” said Heather K. Gerken, dean of Yale Law School, who has written about contemporary federalism. “It’s really amazing what kind of proxy war is happening. It’s all because the vicious partisanship that has long been a hallmark of Washington has now reached the states.”

A clause in the Constitution says that federal statutes are supreme, and the traditional view is that where federal and state law conflicts, federal law prevails. At the same time, the Constitution only grants certain powers to the federal government and reserves the rest to states. In practice, the powers of both levels often overlap.

As a result, the lines aren’t always clear, says Jessica Bulman-Pozen, a Columbia law professor who has written about what she’partisan federalism.” That ambiguity, she said, combined with the increasing nationalization of politics, has led to parties using control of states to oppose presidents of the other party.

“We have a lot of political fights that are channeled through this federalist structure, where if you have a Democratic president, Republican-led states try to pick fights with the presidency and the same with Democratic states during Republican administrations,” Ms. Bulman. Pozen said. “And certain people’s views on state power and federalism will often change with different governments and different exercises of power.”

Political scientists say the growing partisan gridlock that has gripped Washington over the past two decades has created conditions in which states conveniently controlled by one party or the other, such as Texas and California, can strike out on their own .

Liberal states like California and Democratic-led cities have adopted gun restrictions, car emissions standards that are stricter than national standards and sanctuary city policies to limit how local law enforcement can work with federal immigration agents. Meanwhile, Republican states have passed strict abortion bans and declared themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries.

“The states have become more and more powerful,” says Lara M. Brown, political scientist and author. “Most of us live under state laws more than federal laws. Texans are happy to be able to walk around with their guns. And Californians are not happy people.”

Akhil Reed Amar, a professor at Yale Law School, said the arguments about federalism pit two ideals against each other. One is that everyone will be happier if different parts of the country can govern themselves, as long as people can move to the places they agree with. The other is that to be a viable country with an integrated economy, certain basic rules and uniform national rights are needed.

History shows that there are limits to how states can govern in different ways, in part because what happens in one state can impact another.

A judge on the federal appeals panel weighing Texas immigration law took a closer look at that question Wednesday, asking whether the state could arrest an undocumented migrant who entered the state not from Mexico but from Arizona. “Maybe?” responded Aaron L. Nielson, the attorney general of Texas.

Just as it proved untenable for the nation to continue in the 19th century, as some states allowed slavery and others outlawed it — with fights over issues like what happened if an enslaved person was taken or fled to a free state — the political reality is that people are trying to use national control to impose a uniform vision.

For nearly fifty years, the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Roe v. Wade meant that states could not ban abortion. Then, after a conservative majority reversed that decision in 2022, many Republican-controlled states imposed sharp restrictions on the procedure, while Democratic-controlled states did not.

But the issue remains volatile. Disputes have arisen over whether anti-abortion states can criminalize traveling elsewhere to terminate pregnancies and whether states that support abortion rights can send abortion pills to women living in states where the procedure is banned. And both supporters and opponents of abortion have passed national legislation to impose their respective ideals on the entire country.

The battle for uniformity and diversity does not always take place in the courtroom. Despite federal laws banning marijuana, Washington has largely allowed more than thirty states to legalize and regulate medical or recreational cannabis, for example.

But very often these fights end in lawsuits, with the final resolution resting in the hands of the Supreme Court. Because the court has tilted increasingly to the right over President Donald J. Trump’s three appointments, Republicans have an advantage.

For example, in 2015, the court voted five to four to strike down laws in conservative-leaning states that limited marriage to heterosexual couples, allowing same-sex couples to marry in all fifty states. In 2022, the court’s broader conservative majority — in addition to overturning Roe v. Wade — voted 6-3 to strike down laws in New York and other liberal-leaning states that placed strict limits on carrying guns in the public.

Yet the deeper roots of the conflict lie in the structure of the U.S. government, which from its inception has placed the powers of the national government at odds with the states.

“You see it over and over again,” said David I. Levine, a professor at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, who has followed California’s conflicts with the federal government during the Trump administration. “The Civil War. Civil rights, school integration. It’s built into the system.”

But just two weeks before the Saudi showdown, the Gypsy King suffered a terrible stoppage in sparring, forcing the fight to be rescheduled for May 18.

Now Fury – who watched Manchester United beat Liverpool at Old Trafford – is officially back in action by resuming his training camp.

Fury shared a clip of his pad session with Bob Howard, who has cornered his brothers Tommy and Roman in the past.

And interestingly enough, he turns to his left and subtitles the short clip: “Southpaw GK.”

Fury has switched hits many times throughout his career, once fighting Martin Rogan in 2012 purely as a southpaw just to prove he could do it.

The WBC champion controversially defeated MMA star Francis Ngannou, 37, in his last fight in October despite being knocked out.

And he recently watched from ringside in Riyadh as Anthony Joshua, 34, went on to knock out Ngannou in two rounds.

But Fury – set for a two-fight series with the man who beat AJ twice in Usyk – has refused to even entertain the all-British fight for now.

He told The pounding ground: “Me and Usyk is the biggest fight of the century, for all the belts it’s the first time this has ever happened, six, seven belts on the line.

“He’s undefeated, I’m undefeated, and there’s nothing bigger than that. No fight is bigger than that.

Fans say there’s no way Oleksandr Usyk can beat this version of Tyson Fury as Gypsy King trains on first day of fight camp

“I know people are trying to get their foot in the door to fight me, but if I beat Usyk, I will be the undisputed.

“And then I’m going to fight him again and I understand that one of the belts is going to be taken away from us right away.

“So I have two fights this year with Oleksandr Usyk. Let’s not forget that Usyk beat the other guy twice in a row.

“That puts him a long way up the ladder, not even close, you know?” So me and Usyk are the fight?’

A PUNTER who won a Lotto jackpot was left with almost nothing and said he thought he had done something wrong.

Graham Crerar, 64, from Notting Hill, west London, has been chasing the £800 prize for five weeks.

The carpenter had three numbers in the National Lottery draw on February 7.

He is one of a number of players who have struggled to claim winnings from new Lotto operator Allwyn.

Graham told The Sun: “They’re just digging in their heels and it makes me feel like I’ve done something wrong.

‘They don’t know what they are doing and behave very unprofessionally.

“Never mind, Allwyn, they should be called No-win.”

Another winner also spent weeks chasing his £800 prize of a HotPicks ticket.

Paul Simpson, 69, was eventually sent a check, but it bounced at the bank.

TSB told him: “This check has not been cleared due to suspected fraud/counterfeit checks within the clearing cycle.”

Mr Simpson and his wife Pam, 71, had three numbers in the January 31 draw

The former government employee tried to file a claim at a post office but was told to contact Allwyn.

I only get half of my £200,000 National Postcode Lottery jackpot because of my neighbor’s stupid blunder

After hours of calling and emailing, he was sent the dodgy check and advised to request a new one or a bank transfer.

Ultimately, after threatening a small claims lawsuit, he was paid – over a month after his victory.

Mr Simpson, from Leicester, said: ‘I felt like a criminal. But their procedures are chaotic and feel like a scam.

“I will never play that game again. When you win, it’s like they want to exhaust you, so you just give up or you’ll lose your ticket.

Peter Wilson, 70, is also waiting for an £800 prize payout, six weeks after his grades were announced.

The retired sales manager, married to Yvonne, 68, and from Nuneaton, Warks, said: “I don’t know what else I can do to claim my prize. I will not do it again. I can’t worry about the stress.

“It’s chaotic and I’m concerned about the impact this will have on local communities and charities losing out on funding.”

We told last week how Amelia Barnham, 69, from Hammersmith, west London, had an investigator sent to her home by Allwyn because she had won several times in the past.

Allwyn replaced Camelot as National Lottery operator on February 1.

The payout rules have been changed so that prizes between £500 and £50,000 can no longer be collected from post offices.

Sources said this had led to early “teething problems”.

Allwyn said: “This is a brand new claims process following the Post Office’s decision to no longer pay out National Lottery retail prizes between £500.01 and £50,000.

“The time the process takes will vary depending on whether we require further information from the player to process their claim and how long it takes for us to receive the player’s ticket or scratch card.

“Because people are still not familiar with the new process, we also notice that a large number of players are contacting us.

“We are very sorry for any delays this may cause and we have increased the number of colleagues helping players with their claims, allowing them to receive their prizes more quickly.”

Allwyn has contacted Mr Crerar and Mr Wilson to notify them.

  • Thurman withdrew from the fight due to a training injury
  • Tszyu will now take on the towering Sebastian Fundora
  • Pair will compete for two super welterweight belts

The stakes have been raised for Tim Tszyu’s Las Vegas debut after American Keith Thurman was forced to leave the pay-per-view blockbuster due to a training injury.

Team Tszyu has found a replacement for Thurman in towering American left-hander Sebastian Fundora, headlining March 30 at T-Mobile Arena.

The original fight between Tszyu and Thurman was a non-title bout, but now the Australian will put his WBO super welterweight title on the line, while also challenging Fundora for the WBC belt.

Thurman, a former welterweight champion, has fought just once since losing to Manny Pacquiao in July 2019.

He scored a unanimous points victory over Mario Barrios in February 2022.

But the 35-year-old is believed to have torn a biceps muscle, ruling him out against Tszyu.

Nicknamed the ‘Towering Inferno’, Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) was previously scheduled to fight Serhii Bohachuk for the vacant WBC super middleweight title on the same March 30 card.

Fundora – who stands a whopping 197cm tall – defeated 2016 Australian Olympian Daniel Lewis in Las Vegas by unanimous points decision in 2020.

In Fundora’s last fight, he suffered a seventh-round knockout loss to Brian Mendoza last April.

In contrast, Tszyu won a clear unanimous points decision over Mendoza when they clashed on the Gold Coast last October.

Many boxing experts are predicting that Fundora could be a tough match for the Australian, despite his recent loss.

New Delhi: Professional boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr said on Monday he would like to take part in an exhibition fight in India this year and the possibility of an opponent from the host country cannot be ruled out. The 47-year-old former boxing champion boasts a perfect 50-0 record in the professional circuit, including 27 knockouts.

“It is possible. I am looking forward to having an exhibition here in 2024. We are looking for a solid name as a solid opponent,” Mayweather told PTI by phone from Mumbai. “I am pretty sure I have the right opponent. It’s about taking things to the next level, with all the great people here anything is possible,” he added.

When asked if he would be open to a challenger from India, Mayweather replied in the affirmative. “I have a team, they take their time, do their homework and choose the best opponent. We don’t know who the opponent will be, maybe he will be from India, or America, Great Britain or maybe he will be from Japan. We just want to put on a show for the people.”

The American boxer, who has 15 major World Championship titles to his name, retired in 2017 but has since competed in several exhibition matches. Before ruling the professional circuit, Mayweather enjoyed a successful stint in amateur boxing, winning a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the 1996 Olympics and three U.S. Golden Gloves championships.

He called for the return of the headgear in men’s amateur boxing, which was scrapped by the amateur boxing governing body in 2019. “I would like to see boys wearing headgear in amateur boxing. We must protect these fighters.

“Without headgear, you see a lot of eyes get cut, you see a lot of scar tissue and when these young fighters turn pro, they’re all already bruised,” he said. Mayweather said young boxers, who are left battered and bruised by the lack of headgear, need to be protected.

“I really feel that myself and the boxing world need to stand up for what is right and protect these young fighters. When they become professional, there is often so much wear and tear without headgear. I had such a remarkable career because I wore a headgear. Headgear protects the fighters,” he said.

He is on his first trip to the country and is visiting popular tourist attractions such as Siddhivinayak Temple and Gateway of India. Mayweather has teamed up with Jas Mathur of Limitless X. The trip marks the expansion of the Limitless

“I always preach about this. Health is your real world. I have spoken about this repeatedly. I want people from all over the world to make sure they are exercising. Sometimes you don’t get all the nutrients, that’s when we take action and make sure people get what they need,” he said.
