Gwen Stefani feels anything but good when listening to No Doubt songs.

“I can't listen to a lot of the songs because they speak so clearly to me,” Stefani, 54, told KROQ's Audacy check-in shown earlier this week. 'And it's like you're sorry that you've made mistakes. And that's what most of the songs are about.”

She continued, “When I say 'Ex-girlfriend' I almost throw up in my mouth even saying it. Just knowing exactly where I was at that moment to write that song and what I know now? It's just like, 'Oh, my God.' It just takes you back.”

Stefani didn't clarify which “mistakes” she was referring to, but she is known to write songs about her personal relationships. No Doubt's 1995 hit 'Don't Speak' details her and bassist's rift Tony Channelwhich dated from 1987 to 1994. 'Ex-Girlfriend', meanwhile, was released in 2000 and served as a shoutout to then-husband Gavin Rossdale.

The couple, who share sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, were together for 14 years before divorcing in 2015. In the song, Stefani sings, “You say you're gonna burn before you get soft.” The lyrics are a reference to the song 'Dead Meat' by Bush, where the lyrics read: 'I'll join you tomorrow, I'll burn before I get softer.'

No Doubt played underground gigs for nearly a decade before their first hit single, “Just a Girl,” hit radio in 1995. Their latest album, Push and slide, arrived in 2012 before eventually going their separate ways to focus on solo projects. In January, the band announced that they will reunite for the 2024 Coachella Music Festival, which kicks off on Friday, April 12.

Stefani may have complicated feelings about her old music, but the pop star told KROQ that being on stage and performing live is a completely different experience.

“There are a lot of times when you're on tour and you're doing the repetitive songs, but it's not the songs, you're with these new people every night and they're receiving the songs,” she explained. “I can't believe I was chosen to live this life because it is such an incredible way to express yourself and get to know yourself. And the songs do that.”

Coachella marks No Doubt's first performance as a band in nine years. Gwen Stefani is just a girl who has trouble remembering the lyrics to her own songs.

“I don't remember them, no, not at all. Not me!” Stefani, 54, revealed during an appearance on Wednesday, February 14 Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

The last time the band performed was in 2015 at the KAABOO festival in Del Mar, California. However, Stefani is not concerned about the years they are not on stage. In fact, she can't wait for the music festival.

“I know it's going to be great,” she said. “I'm so excited!”

Stefani revealed that the group hasn't really started rehearsing yet, but said she can already imagine what it will be like at Coachella in front of thousands of fans.

“I think what's going to be hilarious is that I know what's going to happen,” she explained. “I go on stage, look around and just start to panic because it's going to be like riding a bike. We'll say, 'What are we doing? We're in the future now, we're at Coachella.” It's going to be bizarre.”

Coachella will take place this spring in April. Fans can head into the desert April 12-14 and April 19-21 to witness No Doubt's epic reunion. The band will also be joined by several other artists such as Lana Del Ray, Doja cat And Tyler, the Creator.

Gwen Stefani gave her 10-year-old son Apollo a history lesson when he asked about her upcoming music performance at Coachella.

“I literally had to be in bed with Apollo and he said, 'But Mom, what is Coachella? Everyone says it. What is this? It sounds like it's a big deal,” Gwen, 54, recalled People on Friday, January 26. (The “Hollaback Girl” singer shares sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.)

“So we had to watch the 'Don't Speak' video, and he said, 'But wait, which one was your boyfriend?' It was so weird and so funny. I literally had to tell him every band member,” she said, referring to her ex-boyfriend and bandmate Tony Channel.

Gwen will reunite with her No Doubt bandmates at Coachella in April, more than a decade since the band's last hiatus. Days before the music festival's official announcement, the band sparked reunion rumors when they had a video chat and teased an upcoming performance.

'I'm going to do a show! Do you want to do a show?” Gwen asked Kanal, 53, and other members Adrian Young And Tom Dumont. (She co-founded No Doubt with her brother in 1986 Erik Stefaniwho left the band in 1995, and John Spencewho died by suicide in 1987. Gwen Stefani has revealed she will be celebrating New Year’s Eve alone in 2024.

The 54-year-old singer-songwriter shared it with Access to Hollywood earlier this week that she and her husband Blake Shelton, 47, would be holding their own separate festivities over the holiday.

But she says their celebrations across the country are due to their busy work schedules.

Gwen said she originally planned to spend New Year’s Eve with Blake, but an offer she couldn’t refuse threw their plans for that evening into disarray.

“Well, it’s funny because I was supposed to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” she explained.

While she will now surprise her fans in Las Vegas, Blake will be performing across the country at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash in Tennessee.

Gwen’s choice to fly to Nevada for a performance of her own was surprising, as she had sworn off Sin City after a bad experience.

But since her husband would be busy for much of the evening, she figured she might as well perform her own music.

“Last year I did Vegas and I was like, ‘Remind me never to do Vegas again.’ [But] sometimes you…don’t want to be the host,” she admitted. ‘So I thought, “Eh, I’m going to do it.” If you go to work, I’ll go to work – so I’ll just fly back and forth, it’ll be great. I’m really looking forward to it.’

Her Vegas show could help her get back in the mood to record new music, as she revealed her New Year’s resolution is to “put out a record.”

Gwen also wanted to focus on her health and become more “consistent” in taking care of herself.

She also had Blake in mind with another resolve to continue loving him more than ever.

The lovebirds have been married since 2021, but their relationship started in 2015, so they’ve had plenty of time to get comfortable with a day apart.

The future spouses met that year when Gwen was a judge on the reality competition series The Voice, after Blake had been on the series since its premiere.

The two quickly hit it off, bonding early in their tenure after both divorced their spouses that year.

Blake announced a divorce from his wife Miranda Lambert, whom he married in 2011, and it was later finalized in 2015.

In a 2016 interview with Howard Stern, Gwen said she was moved after Blake revealed his divorce to his co-stars, and she confessed to him that she had spilled from her husband Gavin Rossdale around the same time, although their divorce would not be finalized. until next year.

She and the Bush singer had been married since 2002 and share three children: Kingston, 17; Zuma, 14; and Apollo, nine.

The Anaheim, California native had her blonde locks slicked back as she and her husband of more than two years sorted through the holiday decorations with Christmas less than three weeks away.

The Grammy Award-winning artist wore a top-handle Dolce Box bag with checkerboard print and lemon motifs during the daylong excursion.

Shelton was dressed in a green hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and brown shoes as he headed out with his wife.

The Ada, Oklahoma-born music artist wore a gray and black ball cap and sported a beard while carrying packages from their shopping trip.

Stefani and Shelton — who collaborated on the 2017 song You Make It Feel Like Christmas — used to be excited about sharing their holiday celebrations via social media.

Stefani posted to Instagram on Sunday a photo of the interior of the Oklahoma ranch she shares with Shelton.

Stefani said in the caption that it “feels like Christmas at the Shelton house,” as she looked over the decorations in the enclosure and later showed them how they picked out their Christmas tree.

Last year, the couple posted on social media images of their holiday celebrations at their Oklahoma ranch with her three sons, Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, nine.

In 2021, Stefani posted on Instagram her Christmas Day cooking with Shelton, as they made an Italian dish called the Timpano Italian Pasta Dome while celebrating the holiday with family members.

SHelton talked about their first meeting when Stefani received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 19.

He said that when he met her on The Voice, she was surrounded by her children, and he humorously joked, “It was chaos.”

HHowever, Shelton stated that the No Doubt frontwoman, who recently described her wedding as an “amazing gift,” impressed him with her dedication to her family.

“The first time I met Gwen was in 2014,” Shelton said at the ceremony, according to the Today show. ‘She wasn’t like any other famous person I’d ever met before. She drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it.”

The country singer also stated that her sons’ presence intimidated many of the individuals on set.

“She didn’t make it past security. “She came in with a baby and two little boys, which at the time acted as security because no one came around,” he said.

Stefani shares her sons with her former husband, Gavin Rossdale, to whom she was married from 2002 to 2016.

Shelton then noted that Stefani’s affection for her children greatly impressed him during their first meeting.

“It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost, above anything else in the world – that was her main job,” he said.

Shelton went on to say that he had been continually impressed by his wife’s achievements since they met.

“She has risen to the top time and time again with her unique style that has made the world fall in love with her – not as much as I did,” he said.

Stefani became visibly emotional during her husband’s speech, lovingly calling him her “best friend.”

She then said to her husband, “You have given me the kind of love I have never known before. From the moment I met you, I knew I was home and I am so proud that you are mine. I can not believe it. I love you so much.’

The singer and her husband started dating in November 2015, and they tied the knot in a wedding ceremony held at his ranch in Oklahoma in July 2021.

Shelton was married to Kaynette Gern from 2003 to 2006 and to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.

Stefani and her husband have collaborated musically several times over the course of their relationship.

Gwen Stefani and Reba McEntire both cried after teen Ruby Leigh performed one of Reba’s hits on Monday’s live episode of The Voice on NBC.

“You blew him out of the water, it was absolutely spectacular,” 68-year-old Reba said with tears in her eyes. “The way you can hold a note and be so powerful it absolutely kills me.”

Reba pointed out that both she and Gwen, 54, were “roaring” after 16-year-old Ruby, from Foley, Missouri, performed Reba’s hit You Lie.

Chance the Rapper, 30, who came on the show as the Mega Mentor, was equally impressed with how good Ruby was for her age.

Reba gave her tips during rehearsals, telling her to remember that it was a very sad song and to put her emotion into it. Reba said after the rehearsal that she thought Ruby did the song better than she did.

“There wasn’t a moment in the show when you performed where I didn’t get goosebumps,” said 30-year-old Niall Horan. ‘That was special. The way you sold that story and did it Ruby’s way. I love that you looked to Reba for approval.”

Jacquie Roar, 28, from North Plains, Oregon, was the first of 12 contestants to perform during the two-hour episode.

Her microphone pack fell out during rehearsal and Reba helped her put it back in.

“I’ll hook you up again,” Reba said.

“The most expensive technology in the history of the world,” one producer joked.

“I’ll send you my bill,” Reba joked.

Jacquie sang the song ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’ by Lainey Wilson. Chance the Rapper gave her tips during rehearsals and Reba encouraged her to say the words.

Reba and the other coaches gave her a standing ovation when she finished.

“You’re incredible,” Gwen said. ‘You look beautiful tonight. I love that you are so tasteful in the way you are dynamic. You can do anything. You’re so cool about it.’

Team Niall Horan’s New York dark pop rocker Nini Iris, 27, from Brooklyn, went next. She told Chance that she had recently received her U.S. citizenship. Nini chose Lovesong by The Cure to perform. Niall encouraged her to tell the song’s story.

Nini performed together with a group of violinists in a long black strapless dress.

“You never disappoint,” said John Legend, 44. “Your voice is so powerful. There’s just so much magnetism on stage.”

“That was absolutely spectacular,” Niall said. “Your ability to turn a song on its head and make it your own is unlike anyone else.”

Gwen’s R&B singer Kara Tenae, 34, from Riverside, California, was excited to meet Chance during rehearsals. She chose Keyshia Cole’s Love to perform and Chance assured her that she deserved to be on the show. Kara wowed the coaches during her performance in a two-piece outfit with silver sequins.

“You did well Kara,” John said. ‘I loved it!’

“You’re so incredibly ready and so confident, just you,” said Gwen, 54. “You’re so pure.”

Gwen’s 19-year-old pop singer Tanner Massey from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma went next. Tanner was excited to get feedback from Chance. He chose Thnks fr th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy. Gwen advised him to learn the original and slowly add his style to it.

“You did so well,” Gwen said. ‘I am so proud of you.’

Team Legend’s classic singer/songwriter Lila Forde, 24, from Seattle, chose the Indigo Girls’ “Closer to Fine” to sing. Lila played the piano as she sang, but got up from the piano halfway through the song. Chance encouraged her to try to make him feel the lyrics. The coaches gave her a standing ovation.

“You’re so special, Lila,” John said. ‘I really believe in you. You’re great.’

Team Niall’s Huntley, 33, from Fredericksburg, Virginia, sang With A Little Help From My Friends by Joe Cocker. Huntley found a note from his mother in his guitar case during rehearsals, which brought him to tears.

“Me and my mom have been dating since I was eight,” Huntley said. ‘She literally supported me through thick and thin.’

“Huntley just blew me away,” Chance said in a confessional. ‘What Huntley has besides talent is that he is just very nice.’

Chance and Niall both encouraged him to sing with his eyes open to connect with the audience.

“You crushed that,” said host Carson Daly, 50.

“Joe Cocker was known for his live performances,” Niall said. “He would be proud of that.”

Team Legend’s Super Save artist Azan, 29, from Dallas, went next. John told Chance how he used this season’s new save to bring Azan back into the show after she was eliminated.

“I’m so happy to have her back on my team,” John said.

John told her that his father was very angry with him when she left the show.

“I was like, ‘Dad, stay tuned,’” John said.

“I’ll make him proud,” Azan said.

Azan sang the song Ex-Factor by Lauryn Hill. John was excited that Lauryn had approved the song for the show. Chance told her she was a great singer.

The coaches gave her a standing ovation when she finished.

“I’m impressed with it now,” Gwen said. “It sounded so good.”

Team Reba’s country singer Jordan Rainer, 33, from Oklahoma, sang Ronnie Milsap’s “Stranger in My House” while playing guitar. Jordan told her she got a puppy and named him “Tater” in honor of Reba’s tater tots.

“Another fantastic performance,” said Niall.

“You demand attention and you get it,” Reba said. ‘Well done, so proud of you!’

Mara Justine, 21, from Galloway, New Jersey, of Team Niall chose Lose Control from Teddy Swims. Chance and Niall were both impressed by her during rehearsals. She thanked Niall for her care.

“Mara, that was crazy,” Niall said after she took the stage. “By far the best thing you’ve done all week, hands down. That was by far your best performance of the season.’

Team Legend soul singer Mac Royals, 31, from Wrightsville, Arkansas, was excited to work with Chance. Mac sang Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me and the coaches gave him a standing ovation.

“He’s an elite talent,” John said. “You’re looking at someone so special.”

John told him he believed in him and already needed a record deal.

Team Gwen’s country-soul artist Bias, 23, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, closed the show. Bias chose Johnny Cash’s song God’s Gonna Cut You Down and said he felt a special connection because Cash was born less than 45 minutes from his hometown.

“We’re going to win The Voice,” Gwen said after his rehearsal.

The crowd clapped along as Bias sang for him and cheered when he finished.

“My God, you’re doing well,” Reba said.

“Honestly, it’s a dream to have you on my team,” Gwen said. ‘You just remain yourself. You are the purest person I have ever met. Just keep going.’

The Voice returns Tuesday for the results show on NBC.
