A household name in the UK, Katie Price has lived out the highs and lows of life in the spotlight.

An open book with her fans, the mother-of-five has documented many of her woes on her various reality series and in tell-all interviews.

Having courted the limelight as a teenage glamour model, the public have witnessed Jordan’s rocket to  fame and occasional falls from grace.

Despite her fame and wealth, life has not come easily for Katie, who has battled bankruptcy, burglaries, assaults and drug abuse, while also navigating a very rocky love life.

Now, as Katie finds herself amid yet another scandal, with her ex allegedly threatening to leak a series of scandalous audio recordings, we take a look back at her turbulent past.

Struggles: Despite her fame and wealth, life has not come easily for Katie, who has battled bankruptcy, burglaries, assaults and drug abuse, while also navigating a very rocky love life

ROCKY ROMANCES

Katie’s quest for love has seen her tie the knot three times and get engaged eight.

In 1996, Katie, then a surgery-free 18-year-old, got engaged to Gladiator star Warren Furman, now 48, (better known as Ace), but they split in two years later.

She was also technically engaged to businessman Scott Sullivan, but has since admitted her heart wasn’t in it when he gave her a ring just before she was about to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle in 2004, where she famously met Peter Andre.

Katie fell madly in love with Pete, 48, on the show and the pair got married in 2006. They went on to have two children; son Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, before they split in 2009.

Admitting she was on the ‘rebound’ Katie started dating cage fighter Alex Reid, 45, a mere eight weeks after her split from Pete.

Following a whirlwind romance the pair wed in Las Vegas in January 2010 but the marriage fell apart less than a year later.

Two years later Katie fell for Argentinian model model Leandro Penna, 35, after meeting him at Elton John’s Oscars party in LA.

Revealing she bedded him on the first night, the pair went on to get engaged before they split in 2012.

Later that year, Katie met part-time stripper and plasterer Kieran Hayler, who is nine years her junior.

The pair exchanged vows a mere five weeks later with Katie already pregnant with the couple’s first son Jett.

However, in 2017 the pair announced they were going to divorce, three years after she found out about Kieran’s affairs with her friends Jane Poutney and Chrissy Thomas.

In July 2019, Katie announced she was engaged again to personal trainer Kris Boyson, 32, after a year of dating.

The reality star – who was still legally married to third husband Kieran at the time- made the shock announcement during an appearance on Loose Women.

Their engagement was short-lived however as the couple split in November of that year, with Katie admitting to Kris that she cheated on him.

The reality star went on to find love with Carl Woods in July 2020 and the couple got engaged in April 2021.

Three months later her divorce with Kieran was made official and she set about planning her wedding to Carl.

However, it wasn’t meant to be as in November 2022 Carl revealed he had dumped Katie after claiming he found out she allegedly slept with someone else – and admitted to it.

BRUSHES WITH THE LAW

Katie is no stranger to court, having risked jail time on multiple occasions due to various driving violations.

In 2003, Katie swerved a speeding charge after police failed to arrest her within 12 weeks of allegedly clocking 70mph in a 40mph zone in her Range Rover.

Five years later she landed three penalty points after being caught talking on her mobile phone while driving. In 2009 she failed to provide the identity of the driver after her car was allegedly caught speeding in a 30mph zone and was later handed four penalty points after being clocked at 99mph and was handed four points on her licence.

The following year she was convicted for failing to be in proper control of her horsebox after veering into another lane in February and was given three points on her licence, bringing her total to 10.

Later that year she was banned from driving for six months after doing 83mph in a 70mph zone in her home county of West Sussex.

In 2012, Katie was disqualified for 12 months for failing to respond to two speeding tickets in September.

After a quiet few years Katie landed a six-month ban in February 2018 for speeding after totting up 12 penalty points for speeding. In July, photos emerged of her driving while still banned. Then in October she was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and spent 13 hours in custody after crashing into a VW Golf and a hedge on a gated estate at 2am.

In 2019 she was given a three-month ban for driving while disqualified in January of that year and was later handed a five-year restraining order banning her from contacting Michelle Penticost either directly or indirectly after hurling abuse at her during an argument at a school playground.

Then in October, Katie was banned from driving for a further 18 months for failing to inform police who was behind the wheel of her pink Range Rover during a crash in Bexley, south east London.

Two years later she crashed her BMW car on a country road near her West Sussex home in the early hours of the morning after drinking and taking drugs.

She pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates of drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and is handed a 16-week suspended prison sentence.

In 2022 she then pleaded guilty to breaching a five-year restraining order not to contact, directly or indirectly, Michelle Penticost.

She avoided jail again after claiming she ‘misunderstood’ the rules of a restraining order when she sent a ‘vile and nasty’ message about her ex-husband’s fiancée.

FINANCIAL WOES

Katie was declared bankrupt in 2019 with debts of £3.2m from her failed company Jordan Trading Ltd, that was set up to oversee her perfume and cosmetics line.

She set up the company in 2003 but in 2017 an application was put in to wind up the company as she tried to sort out her finances.

When the mother-of-five was declared bankrupt she vowed to pay back £12,000 a month to creditors of the firm through an individual voluntary arrangement.

The bankruptcy meant Katie, once worth a reported £45million, faced losing her £2million 11-bedroom mansion.

She took out a second mortgage on the property in 2015, but faced monthly payments of £12,300.

In June 2022 the former model had been due to attend the Royal Court of Justice to explain to a judge why she has failed to repay millions owed to creditors.

However, the hearing was adjourned at the last minute with her solicitors giving no reason for Katie’s no show before the court.

Despite being bankrupt Katie has seemingly led a lavish life, including exotic holidays to Las Vegas and Thailand.

ADDICTION STRUGGLES

Katie’s children have threatened to ‘never speak to her again’ if she took cocaine after her highly publicised battle with drugs.

Katie also visited The Priory in 2018 when she spent 28 days as an inpatient after her family urged her to seek help following wild partying antics in Mallorca.

At the time, she was confronted by her loved ones after shocking footage emerged of her rapping ‘I love coke’ during a booze-fuelled hen do.

Katie broke down after the intervention and admitted she needed help to get over her chaotic behaviour, which she blamed on her PTSD.

She later said: ‘My family and friends were hurt, they didn’t know what to do. All these years in the industry I never have [done drugs] but I purely did it to self-medicate, I went to the doctors and told them the truth…

‘Self-medicating on drugs really, it was disgusting, but it was my way of dealing with it. At least I can hold my hands up, if I didn’t speak out now, I would still be in a rut’.

In 2020 Katie revealed she had been taking monthly drug tests to ‘build trust’ with her ex-husbands Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler, with whom she shares four children.

In 2021, Katie crashed her BMW while double the drink-drive limit after leaving her home to allegedly hunt for drugs during an all-night alcohol and cocaine bender.

In November 2022 Katie’s ex Carl Woods reportedly leaked a recording of his former partner speaking about drugs.

In the midst of their break-up, Carl was said to have released a recording which allegedly hears Katie saying she didn’t turn up to an event ‘because I was on coke’.

THE MUCKY MANSION

Katie purchased a sprawling property in West Sussex for £1.3million back in 2014 with the hope of turning it into a cosy family home.

However the property was left in disarray after various mishaps, including fly tipping, floods, a fire and burglaries.

Renovations kicked off in June 2019, but the influencer was left devastated when the mucky mansion was broken into and destroyed by intruders a year later.

In June 2020, thieves broke in to steal her I’m A Celebrity rucksack and leant the shower head over the ceiling which caused the bathroom to flood and the ceiling to collapse.

Just weeks later, she suffered a fresh blow as thieves broke in again, and she vowed to up security after a neighbour witnessed three men on her private property.

In 2021 the place was ransacked yet again, with thieves stealing old photographs and hard drives.

The following year she landed a £45,000 payday to chart her renovations in the Channel 4 series Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion.

She bagged a second series of the show but filming was allegedly been thrown into mayhem since her ‘filthy’ house is too dirty for production crews to shoot in.

ASSAULT

Katie suffered trauma from a young age, revealing she was raped in a park at the age of seven.

The former Page 3 star detailed the damage the ordeal has caused during an appearance on Loose Women in 2017, stating: ‘There was the sexual assault and I was later raped.

‘I have discussed before and I do believe it led to me dressing provocatively and becoming a model.

‘I had been training to be a nurse but the glamour modelling world is aimed at men. They can look but they can’t touch. You can say or do what you like in a picture.’

The media personality was also sexually exploited by a photographer as a child, revealing: ‘He took indecent photographs that I thought were innocent at the time. I was 12. He made me do pictures where I was sticking my tongue out. They looked young and girly but to him. It is sexual. He used to make these milkshakes.

‘I never took one because I didn’t like it. The police when they came around.. that’s what he did he made the girls drink them and he drugged them.’

In 2018, Katie was raped at gunpoint during a horrifying carjacking in South Africa.

Katie was thrown out of the vehicle by the attackers, during her journey from Johannesburg to Swaziland in two people carriers with the production crew.

The vehicles were ransacked of laptops, iPads, passports, cash and jewellery – but the robbers left behind a fortune in camera gear which the crew had stored on board. The attackers were never apprehended.

In September 2021 Katie was allegedly punched in the face at her home in Essex, with a 32-year-old man who was then held on suspicious of assault.

Police were called to the former glamour model’s at around 1.30am on August 23, where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour.

Katie was taken to hospital and was pictured the following day with bruises to her face and an injured lip.

MENTAL HEALTH BATTLES

Katie has been open about her struggle with anxiety and depression.

In September, the mother-of-five revealed that she attempted suicide after suffering from ‘anxiety, depression and major trauma’ following her horrific 2018 carjacking.

The reality star admitted she hit rock bottom after she was raped at gunpoint during the ordeal and tried to hang herself, but after passing out she ‘saw her kids faces’ and realised she ‘never wanted it to happen again.’

Katie also said she’ll likely need therapy ‘for the rest of her life,’ after being diagnosed with PTSD.

She has received help for her mental health struggles during several stints at The Priory.

Katie thanked her therapist in a sweet Instagram post in May 2022 as she gave an update on her mental health.

She penned: ‘I’m so proud of myself and how far I’ve come changing the ways I now deal with situations that I’ve now learnt are my trigger points that I wasn’t about to control before.

‘Thank you to my therapists, consultant and my support network around me,’ Katie added a red heart emoji.

She added: ‘Tomorrow finally is a chapter I’ve completed in moving forwards, I’ll let you know tomorrow what it is.’

FAMILY MATTERS

Katie welcomed her first child, Harvey, in September 2022 but his father Dwight Yorke denied he was the father, until a DNA test proved his paternity.

The former glamour model and the former premier league footballer  briefly had a romance in 2001, and broke up soon after Katie fell pregnant.

Katie has claimed Dwight ‘disowned’ their son and has no contact with him.

Her relationship with her son was shown in two BBC documentaries that charted Harvey transitioning into adulthood and Katie’s journey into researching for a specialist college that caters to Harvey’s complex needs.

Harvey is on the autism spectrum and was born with disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome.

Katie is also mother to Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, with ex-husband Peter Andre and has Bunny, eight, and Jett, nine, with ex Kieran Hayler.

In August 2022, Katie claimed she has limited access to her two youngest children after her already strained relationship with their father broke down.

Katie’s mother Amy suffers from the terminal illness idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis- which causes scarring to the lungs and makes it difficult to breathe, after being diagnosed in 2017.

The star previously revealed she’s begun to organise her mother’s funeral, after ‘accepting’ her death is imminent.

Katie had previously revealed she offered one of her own lungs for Amy, because she is currently waiting to see if she can have a transplant

Little is known about Katie’s biological father Ray after he walked out on Katie and her mother when she was just four years old.

BOTCHED SURGERY AND INJURIES

Katie has undergone an array of procedures over the years, including rhinoplasty, a silhouette facelift, 3D, veneers, lip fillers and Botox.

In 2015, just before appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, the reality star had a botched boob reduction that left her with a hole in her breast and an implant protruding from her flesh.

Katie told her shocked housemates: ‘I’ve got no tits anymore. They’ve gone. There’s not even anything there. If you saw what I’m like underneath. The scar’s gone septic. My whole implant was hanging out on New Year’s Day.’

Shortly after leaving the Big Brother house she underwent corrective surgery and had her implants swapped for a D-cup.

Katie claimed her first face lift in 2017 had been a botched job and went back under the knife the following year aged 40 to correct it.

She said at the time ‘I need to get my face re-corrected after surgeon has totally f**ked my face up’.

He agent added: ‘She had the thread and it really quite distorted her look. She got a lot of backlash, a lot of negative press, a lot of trolling, everyone saying she’d taken it too far, when actually it was a job that had not gone to plan.’

In 2012 she jetted to Belgium to correct botched surgery on her breasts, saying her surgeon was utterly shocked by the ‘awful’ previous procedure.

Katie said: ‘They looked deformed, they were absolutely awful. That’s the first time I’ve gone to a different surgeon. I had to go back to Frank with my head down, ashamed that I’d been to another clinic.’

In August 2020, Katie revealed a freak accident had left her with two broken feet after she had plummeted 25ft off a wall at a theme park in Turkey.

Upon her return to the UK, she was left using a wheelchair and fearing she would be paralysed before doctors told her she could be in recovery for up to two years and was initially unable to walk for six months.

PET TRAGEDIES

Katie has been lambasted by animal charities and petitions have been set up to stop her owning animals after several pets died under her care.

In November 2022, Katie’s beloved dog Sharon was killed when she allegedly escaped and ran onto the road where she was hit by a car.

Pomeranian Sharon was picked up off the A24 by the driver of the vehicle and taken to to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, where her death was confirmed.

Weeks before she was left distraught after losing her beloved Chihuahua Captain while on holiday in Dorset.

Katie’s dogs Rolo, Queenie and Sparkle died in recent years, while she has also lost a pet chameleon and a beloved horse.

In 2021 it was revealed she she gave away her daughter Princess’ puppy Precious to a member of the crew on her TV show.

Two years after Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, United Nations investigators say they have discovered new evidence of systematic and widespread torture of Ukrainian prisoners held by Russian security forces.

A United Nations investigative committee on Friday detailed a series of what it described as Russian war crimes, including summary executions, sexual violence and forcible transfers of Ukrainian children to Russia. The committee paid particular attention to the “horrific” treatment of Ukrainian prisoners by Russian security services in detention centers in Russia and occupied Ukraine.

The committee will deliver results a report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva next week, detailing torture in four locations in Russia and seven in occupied Ukraine, reinforcing previous findings that the use of torture has become widespread and systematic.

“We are concerned about the extent, persistence and severity of the violations and crimes the commission investigated and the impact on victims,” Erik Mose, chairman of the three-member panel, said in a statement.

“The victims’ accounts reveal brutal, brutal treatment that inflicted severe pain and suffering for almost the entire duration of their detention,” the commission said, adding that this resulted in long-lasting physical and mental trauma.

The committee, established in 2022, said it previously raised concerns about arbitrary arrest and mistreatment by Ukrainian authorities of people suspected of collaborating with Russian authorities. But in this report, the fifth, the committee noted only two new cases of Ukrainian aggression, in addition to the three previously reported.

They include the experience of a Ukrainian woman who said she was repeatedly held and beaten by men in Ukrainian military uniforms who carried out a mock execution before releasing her.

United Nations human rights monitors with access to Ukrainian detention centers have also reported abuses of Russian soldiers captured by Ukraine. The rights observers said that the beatings and abuse of these soldiers occurred mainly at the first moment of capture and that cases of torture occurred sporadically.

Mr Mose said the committee had written to Russian authorities 23 times requesting information, meetings and better access, but had received no response. Russian authorities have not yet commented on the report’s allegations of torture.

Russian guards told a prisoner “welcome to hell,” the commission said, describing brutal admission procedures including beatings and electric shocks. Torture reportedly took place “everywhere”: in cells, corridors, courtyards and the bathhouse.

“I lost all hope and will to live,” a former prisoner told the panel, saying he begged his inquisitors to kill him after he was repeatedly beaten, breaking a collarbone, knocking out teeth and leaving him gangrenous. foot left behind, so he could no longer stand. After his release, the commission said, the former inmate had undergone 36 hospitalizations as of January.

Former prisoners said that in Russian detention centers in occupied Ukraine, torture was carried out by the Russian military, but that prisoners held in Russia were tortured by Russian special forces known as Spetsnaz, and the interrogations were conducted by agents of the main Russian intelligence service. the Federal Security Agency.

The committee said it had interviewed former Spetsnaz members who said torture and abuse of prisoners were encouraged or at least tolerated by their commanders, quoting one general who told them to “work hard without pity.”

Ukrainian military prisoners were tortured for information about their units and the Ukrainian armed forces, but the report said the torture was also used to intimidate and punish. Prisoners described conditions in some prisons where they were held as “inhumane.”

Food was scarce, resulting in acute hunger that prompted some to “eat worms, soap, paper and remains of dog food,” the commission reported.

The average mortgage payer is now spending almost half their salary on monthly repayments as Australia’s housing crisis reaches a record stress point, a new report has found.

Until recently, borrowers were considered overburdened if they spent 30 percent of their pre-tax salary on a loan.

But new data from the Real Estate Institute of Australia for December shows the average household is now spending almost 48 per cent of their wages on their mortgage.

President Leanne Pilkington said the Reserve Bank’s 13 rate hikes in 18 months, which took the cash rate to a 12-year high of 4.35 per cent, had worsened housing affordability.

“The average household now spends 47.7 percent of its income on mortgage repayments,” she says.

Australia’s mortgage crisis is now so bad that the average borrower is now spending almost half their wages on monthly repayments, a new report has found (stock photo shown)

Credit rating agency Moody’s Ratings found that monthly mortgage payments have risen 44 percent since mid-2022, compared with a 7 percent increase in the average full-time salary.

More and more borrowers are expected to fall behind on their mortgage payments, with someone considered to be in arrears if they are 30 days or more late.

“Residential mortgage defaults in Australia, which rose in 2023, will continue to rise this year as increases in mortgage repayment costs have significantly outpaced income growth,” the report said.

A Reserve Bank of Australia report from December found that only 20 percent of variable rate borrowers were spending more than 30 percent of their income on mortgage payments.

But Andrea Brichetto, the RBA’s head of financial stability, added: ‘Lower income households are more likely than other borrowers to spend a higher proportion of their income on paying down their mortgage.

“Essential expenses also represent a larger share of income for these borrowers.”

RateCity calculated that an individual or couple borrowing up to 5.2 times their income would spend 38 percent of their pre-tax wages on a home loan, rising to 51 percent after taxes.

That mirrors the Real Estate Institute of Australia figure, which showed borrowers spent 47.7 percent of their wages on a mortgage, relative to after-tax salaries.

The average new mortgage in Australia was $615,178 in January, official lending data shows.

A 20 percent mortgage deposit of $153,794 would buy a home worth $768,972.

A borrower in this situation, with a variable interest rate of 6.24 percent, would spend $3,784 per month in repayments.

An individual or couple getting a loan must earn $118,303 to even qualify for a loan.

Annual mortgage payments of $45,408 would account for 38 percent of pre-tax wages.

The average new loan in New South Wales is $770,914, Australian Bureau of Statistics data also shows.

That means an individual or couple would have to earn $148,253 to qualify for a loan to buy a $963,642 house in far south-west Sydney, in a suburb like Liverpool.

The monthly repayments of $4,742 would amount to $56,904 per year, which is 38 percent of pre-tax wages.

The Reserve Bank also argued that wealthy households could afford to spend more than 30 percent of their income on mortgage repayments without being in financial stress.

“By comparison, higher-income households spend a smaller share of their income on essential expenses, so they can typically make larger mortgage payments relative to their income without experiencing financial stress,” says Ms Brichetto.

“So while this measure is often reported as a measure of mortgage stress, it is important to note that it does not provide the full picture.”

He rose to renown by playing a troubled bully who struggled with his sexuality on Netflix’s Sex Education.

And now, five years later, Connor Swindells has become the hottest rising star to watch, following a series of hit performances across intense dramas including Vigil (2021) and SAS: Rogue Heroes (2022) – both by the BBC – and Autumn de Wilde’s Emma (2020).

He has also recently kicked off working on Lockerbie – a historical thriller about the 1988 bombing.

The 27-year-old’s career is soaring as he continues to prove his acting chops in challenging roles exploring real life tragedies, high-stakes plots and emotionally demanding performances.

He has also shown his range with more lighthearted comedic moments – including a cameo in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie as a Mattel intern.

In 2019, he landed the role of Adam Groff in Sex Education – a bully who, after struggling with his sexuality, learns about opening up to the people around him. Connor Swindells, left, pictured with Asa Butterfield in the show

Connor has a series of work lined up over the coming years, including parts in Scoop – a Netflix retelling of the scenes behind Prince Andrew’s notorious 2019 interview with Emily Maitlis – historical epic William Tell, and a festive romcom titled Jingle Bell Heist.

But despite his soaring success, the actor from West Sussex wasn’t a natural-born performer.

Albeit describing himself as the ‘runt of the litter’ surrounded by the ‘big, burly, physical, hard-working men’ that are his brothers to the Guardian, Connor started out as an athlete.

As a young man, he put ‘everything’ into boxing – but after his passion for it dried up, he didn’t have ‘anything to fall back on’.

In other reports, Connor has also said he simply didn’t feel like the sport was ‘him’ anymore.

‘I did terribly in school. It’s all or nothing with me,’ Connor – who dropped out of college aged 17, told Screen Daily in 2017.

Speaking with the Guardian in 2022, the star also explained that he makes sure never to forget his humble beginnings and working class background.

‘I know that, if this was all to go away, I would always have a place working with my brother building fences,’ he explained.

‘During that storm, the crazy one – Eunice was it? – my fence blew down and my brother came up to London, and we were just digging holes in the garden for fence posts again.

‘And I thought, “God, it’s important that I don’t forget this.” As crazy as the industry can get, with these pockets of excitement, it’s easy to get lost in that. And it’s important to remember that you came from just digging holes in the earth.’

The actor has been open about his tight-knit family – he has three brothers – and has been equally candid when discussing how his mother Phoebe, who was of Romany traveller heritage, died from bowel cancer.

He was seven when she passed away, but Connor keeps her legacy alive with Instagram posts and videos supporting fundraising initiatives for the illness.

Last month, he raised more than £20,000 for Bowel Cancer UK as he took part in the Brighton Half Marathon.

‘My mum lost her battle with bowel cancer and now in honour of her fight – I will be doing this run for her and those we all know who have also been through this war,’ he wrote in the JustGiving page.

‘With the bowel cancer stuff, it was always an anxiety of mine because not only had my mum passed away from bowel cancer, but her father had as well as my grandfather,’ he told a Square Mile interview two years ago.

‘So there was always this thing of like, “Oh, maybe it runs in the family.” My way of conquering that was to try and spread awareness.

‘And I think also it was just about trying to make my mum proud.’

Connor’s first role was as the lead in a theatre production of The Trial by Franz Kafka.

Soon success came along with appearances in Jamestown (2017) and Harlots (2017) – both period dramas – and The Vanishing (2018), a psychological thriller, and VS. (2018); VS., a movie about the underground rap scene in London.

In 2019, he landed the role of Adam Groff in Sex Education – a bully who, after struggling with his sexuality, learns about opening up to the people around him.

Speaking with GQ in 2022, the star revealed he felt ‘privileged’ to bring the fan-favourite to life and that it’s been ‘almost a fairy tale’.

And in 2021, he also told Attitude magazine how it helped him unpack his own understanding of masculinity.

‘My mum’s side of the family is really working class. I was talking to a friend about this today, in that your masculinity was shown by your endurance level’, he said.

‘As a labourer, if you could get through a full working day drinking half a bottle of water and [eating] one sandwich, that was considered masculine, which is probably something that not many people are aware of, because that stuff comes from working-class backgrounds, where they’re not wanting to speak about masculinity and the forms that it takes.’

Successes continued with yet another hit from Connor – a role as David Stirling in SAS: Rogue Heroes – which depicts the real-life events that were revealed at great length by historian Ben Macintyre in his 2016 book of the same name.

Connor portrayed a real life officer, who was described by Britain’s most senior military officer as ‘quite mad’.

‘It was a hard shoot,’ he told The i. ‘We were in the Moroccan sun for two and a half months… it got up to 49 degrees at one point.

‘At one point we had big ice coolers full of cold wet towels that in between takes we would put on the back of our necks.

‘But then we found out that that was giving people a fever.’

And Connor is travelling back to the past once again with his most recent project – an upcoming drama about the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

The show recounts the terrorist attack which killed 259 passengers and crew – including 35 students from the University of Syracuse, along with 11 Lockerbie residents – after a Pan Am Flight 103 which exploded over the town in Dumfries and Galloway, 40 minutes into its flight from London to New York on December 21, 1988.

The TV series in development by Netflix and the BBC also features Jonathan Lee (Who Killed Jando) as the showrunner of the series, who co-wrote the drama alongside Gillian Roger Park (Flotsam).

Directing the series is Michael Keillor who previously directed and produced the thriller Roadkill, and directed episodes of Line of Duty.

A detailed synopsis of the Netflix/BBC version reads: ”A drama based on the real events surrounding the 1988 Lockerbie bombing and the joint Scots-US investigation which sought to bring the perpetrators to justice.

‘Lockerbie will focus on the investigation into the crash on both sides of the Atlantic and the devastating effect it had on the small town and the families who lost loved ones.

‘From the initial exhaustive search for evidence on the ground in Scotland, via the US and Malta to the trial at Camp Zeist in 2000, the drama goes right up to the most recent indictment at the end of 2022.’

In an Instagram Story from today, Connor revealed that he is ‘honoured to be telling this story’.

A NEW study could finally put an end to a long debate about a giant dinosaur known as the ‘heron from hell’.

The creature’s scientific name is Spinosaurus aegyptiacus and it has been debated for years.

That’s because scientists can’t agree on how the Cretaceous-era dinosaur hunted its prey.

The giant predator is thought to have been one of the largest to walk the Earth.

It ate all kinds of prey and was adapted to hunt in water.

Whether it dived deep for its meals or stayed very close to the surface is still debated today.

A team of scientists recently examined bones from a specimen of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus to unravel this mystery once and for all.

Paleontologists from the University of Chicago led the research.

The research has now been published in PLoS ONE log.

A team of researchers examined the creature’s bone density and discovered that it would not have been good at diving.

Modern aquatic animals usually have dense bones that allow them to stay submerged.

It is said that these bones act as a diver’s weight belt.

Mystery surrounding the giant ‘heron from hell’ dinosaur and how it devoured its prey has finally been cleared up in new research

Some dinosaurs, including Spinosaurus, have air sacs in their bones that help them avoid submersion.

For this reason, the team suspects that the dinosaur resided in shallow waters.

“We think that Spinosaurus, one of the largest predators ever evolved, needed extra bone strength to support its weight on its relatively short hind legs,” explains lead author Paul Sereno.

“Spinosaurus was able to wade into waterways seven feet deep without floating, where it could ambush fish of all sizes with its claws and jaws, all while keeping its toes firmly anchored in the mud.”

A row has erupted between locals of a quiet hamlet, the billionaire ruler of Dubai and shooting groups at his Essex estate.

The billionaire, who owns nearly 5,000 acres of farming land in Essex, allows pheasant and pigeon shoots to take place on land near Braintree.

However, locals living in the tiny hamlet of Bardfield Saling say the ‘boozy shoots’ which take place at least twice a week have ‘blighted their lives’ for the last five years.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s company Saker Estates and Essex Farms granted permission for the Yorney Valley Shoot to use the vast lands. Drone photos taken by MailOnline show the extent of land which is being used.

The shoot, overseen by manager Keith Nicholls, offers day experiences from £645 to £1,290 with the chance to shoot up to 200 birds between September and January.

A summary of the experience states: ‘Our shoot is situated in Essex around Great Sailing it is made up of woods and cover crop where we release both French and English partridge and pheasants.

‘The topography of our land means we can show good sporting birds. We cater for 150 to 200 bird days for up to 10 guns.

‘We offer a good days sport with the hospitality to match with over 15 drives to choose from we can arrange each teams day to suit their needs from partridge drives to pheasant drives, with the addition of woodcock we have something for everyone.’

Laura Thompson, 52, who has lived in the quaint hamlet with her husband Adam, 54, for the last six years, told MailOnline: ‘The Sheikh of Dubai who owns the land doesn’t seem to care. Why shoot near our houses when they have thousands of acres to do it in?

‘For five months of the year, the shooting has blighted our lives. It feels like we’re living in misery from the constant loud sounds of gunfire.’

Mrs Thompson, who has lived in the countryside all her life, explained: ‘From the sound of the first gunshot at around 9am, the living hell starts. It’s stressful.

‘The participants are also drinking alcohol during the day which is concerning.’

Since moving to the area, the volunteer horse welfare officer, who lives less than 50m from where the shoots take place, also says the 4×4 vehicles from the shoots were making the conditions of local roads poor.

She explained: ‘Just this year alone, the shoot has left a trail of devastation, including byways, thick mud tracks on our little lanes. They’re trashed.

‘Their tractor and heavy vehicles crush verges and ditches cause field drainage water to run down the road making them treacherous especially when it freezes, not to mention half dead and dead birds.

‘The council have had to clean the road as it is like a mud bath from October onwards.

Mrs Thompson, who also keeps two horses called Mr Bojangles and Herbie at her property, also said the animals were left distressed and left shaken by gunfire.

She added: ‘Our horses are absolutely terrified.

‘I have had to pay thousands in vet fees due to the close proximity of the shooters.

‘I try and keep the horses in as much as possible on the two days when the shoots take place, but it becomes a welfare issue when they are contained in excess of 24 hours with no exercise.’

The 52-year-old said she has constantly asked for the shoot to be moved further away from her home but is just ignored.

Mrs Thompson concluded: ‘I have kept horses and lived in the county all my life, shootings are a country pursuit and private, well run shoots are a completely different matter, they are held away from residential areas, on private land and tracks, this is not the case here.

‘I have reached out to the Sheikh via various channels and organisations that he owns and received zero response.’

Laura’s husband Adam Thompson, 52, said: ‘We are always on our guard.

‘We have to keep our horses and animals in during these times and can’t even go for a walk ourselves. It’s horrendous from the moment they start shooting.’

Mr Thompson added: ‘We live in the country, so we do expect shooting to go on but not over our house and so close to our animals.

‘I have had to pick up dead birds in our garden. Some are not even dead so I had to put them out of their misery.’

Stephen Woodcraft, 73, who has lived in the hamlet for nearly four decades, said: ‘The landowners and shoot managers are treating locals poorly and have no regarding for us.

‘They have a cavalier attitude and just do what they want. I don’t enjoy the fact they are running this business here.

‘They live in a shear amount of mess on the road. This winter has been horrendous.’

Another local, who has lived in Bardfield Saling for 30 years, said she had to replace windows at her property constantly all the time due to them being smashed by gun cartridges.

The local, who did not want to be named, also used to look after rescue deer but had to give it up because of the distress the shoots were causing the animals.

She said: ‘I rescued injured deer and recouped them and sent them back into the wild. They were always traumatised when the shoots happen and it in turn traumatised us.

‘When you hear that first gunshot, if you’re not expecting it, it literally goes through you and shocks you. There is no notice at all when they start, you have to find out yourself.

‘I can’t go outside in the garden myself or have children outside when the shooting is going on.

‘Where they are driving and firing at the birds is towards my property, it should not be happening.’

Another local resident of the hamlet of 40 years said: ‘This is not a sport that everyone can afford, all the customers that come here have big disposable incomes.

‘These people that come are not local and are not interesting in protecting us or our environment.’

They added: ‘I’ve had gun cartridges landing on my head and my vehicles.’

Another said: ‘You can see and hear the participants of the shoot drinking. They’re loud, noisy and at times unpleasant.’

The group of locals said they all attempted to contact Mr Nicholls and Keith Daily who oversees Saker Estates and Essex Farms to complain and resolve the solution.

It is understood the shooting events start at Little Lodge Farm which is part of the Essex Farms estate.

MailOnline has also learnt of another account of a resident calling 999 after gun cartridges hit their grandchildren whilst they were in a garden paddling pool.

Reviews of the Yourney Valley Shoot by attendees describe the luxury days they are offered by Mr Nicholls and his team.

One said: ‘The day starts with a tea/coffee and egg, sausage bacon roll in their lovely dining room.

‘We stopped around 11.30 for Champers/Sloe gin, sausage rolls, pork pies, cakes and biscuits.

‘At the end of the day we all sat down to a wonderful lunch prepared by their chef. Various wines, beers etc were also available.’

Another impressed customer said: ‘I was seriously impressed with the number of partridge I had the opportunity to shoot at on the fourth drive, and was pretty thankful to have a loader!

‘Spent the day with a wonderful team of guns, beaters, picker ups, all very friendly and welcoming.

It comes after locals living near the Sheikh of Dubai’s £75m estate in Surrey expressed anger at the actions of the Sheikh and his security guards after a series of recent building projects.

The historic Longcross estate, near Chobham in Surrey, was purchased by Sheikh Mohammed in the 1990s as a place to escape the stifling summer heat in the Gulf.

Projects include the construction of warehouses to accommodate items used by his  300 staff at the estate as well as accommodation buildings.

Sheikh Mohammed, worth around £4 billion, was also accused of showing ‘cynical disregard’ for planning laws by erecting a 6ft ‘prison-style’ spiked metal fence around his estate.

Saker Estates said they were not available to comment on the issue. Mr Nicholls was approached for comment.

Matt Lucas will appear on this weekend’s episode of Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, as the show makes a long-awaited return to screens.

The star has been at the forefront of British comedy for more than two decades, starring alongside David Walliams as co-creator of Little Britain and Come Fly With Me. However, it is his appearance that has been in the spotlight lately.

In addition to acting, the comedian has been open about his weight loss journey, including the heartbreaking reason that initially encouraged him to lose the weight.

From losing a family member who changed his behavior to being shockingly ‘skinny shamed’ during a football match, Matt was driven to diet and exercise.

So why has Matt lost the pounds and improved his health?

The unexpected death of a family member caused Matt to lose weight

In 2022, Matt revealed how his family’s medical history caused him to change his eating habits and become more conscious of his weight.

Matt was only 22 when his father passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52, something he says was a much-needed wake-up call as he got older.

Appearing on sports presenter Gabby Logan’s podcast at the time, he said: ‘I’m 48, my father died when he was 52, very suddenly, his father died I think at 56, so I was looking at the law of the averages.’

“I was really big and I actually kept getting bigger during the pandemic. Kind of not being very active, not really going out, not seeing people, just eating a lot of fried potatoes. I can’t tell you how many fried potatoes I ate!’

He said this realization caused him to lose weight, but the comic said he felt like he needed to exercise more and still get fitter.

He added: “I was so big I couldn’t really fit on the screen anymore. The thing is, when you grow up, and by the way, I still have a good stomach, I’m not skinny by any means, I just lost some weight…

‘I’ve gone from maybe an XXL, sometimes I was an XXXL, to a medium now I think. Although sometimes medium is big for me and sometimes small for me…

‘The only thing I have to do is get fitter, I have gained some weight, that is my next challenge to exercise more. Maybe I should make it a game when I exercise to stay away from people. I don’t have a garden, so I have to find a way to do that.’

You’re ashamed of football

After making a concerted effort to lose weight and get fitter, the last thing Matt could have expected was to worry about being thinner.

However, that wasn’t the case, as Matt shared after a shocking incident that took place while attending a football match between his beloved Arsenal and Manchester United in April 2022.

“For the first time in my life, I think I’m just ashamed.”

His post received a lot of support from well-wishers who congratulated him on losing weight.

In response to his post, actress Sarah O’Connell wrote: “You look amazing and most importantly, happy.”

Another positive message read: ‘You look incredible and [the individual who confronted Matt] know it’.

Diabetes scare

In April 2020, Matt admitted he was keen to ‘get fitter’ during lockdown after feeling like he had ‘gained a bit of weight’.

He said: ‘All I need to do is get fitter, I’ve put on a bit of weight, that’s my next challenge to exercise a bit more.

“Maybe I should make a game of it when I’m doing an exercise to stay away from people. I don’t have a garden, so I have to find a way to do that.’

The prankster was previously told by doctors to reduce his daily calorie intake to 1,500 because he feared he was developing diabetes.

The star endured three weeks of torment following the claims.

Yesterday, 50-year-old Horner was told he would remain with the team until the end of the season after the woman’s claims were rejected.

Geri is said to be delighted about the news.

A source said: “These have been weeks of hell for Christian and his family.

“As he has said all along, these claims are ‘crazy’.

“An extensive investigation has been conducted and the allegations have been found to be nonsense.

“Geri stands firmly behind Christian – and his entire family is relieved and elated that it is over. Those feelings are there, but no one in his immediate environment feels like celebrating much after what he has experienced.

“For the time being, his focus is again entirely on winning races.”

Former racing driver Christian’s £8million-a-year job was secured after a three-week internal investigation rejected the unknown employee’s taint.

He was initially under investigation for alleged inappropriate behavior, but it was later said the investigation related to sending inappropriate messages to the woman.

Geri is said to have been left “in tears” when the scandal first broke earlier this month and was supported by friends including her fellow Spice Girls.

The Sun’s 60 Second News Briefing: Episode 32

Christian, who married the pop star in 2015, had vehemently denied the claims and vowed to fight to clear his name.

The F1 boss flew to Bahrain ahead of the opening race of the F1 season, where Red Bull’s world champion Max Verstappen will lead the team’s latest bid for glory.

There are now no more questions about Christian’s character

A statement confirming that Christian had been cleared was released by Red Bull Racing’s Austrian parent company within minutes of his private jet’s arrival.

It said: “Red Bull can confirm that the complaint has been rejected.

Red Bull is confident that the investigation was fair, rigorous and impartial.

“The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who participated in the investigation. Out of respect for all involved, we will therefore make no further comment.

“Red Bull will continue to strive to meet the highest standards in the workplace.”

The team’s parent company confirmed that the complainant, who is believed to still work at the team’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, “has the right to appeal”.

Christian, who has a six-year-old son with Geri and two children from a previous marriage, was questioned by an independent lawyer on February 9.

A source told The Sun last night: “Christian’s career, his marriage and his reputation were attacked but there are now no questions about his character.

“There is no shade. But questions are being asked about how this happened, why it happened and who was responsible.”

What has been claimed?

F1 was rocked earlier this month by the sudden news that the sport’s longest-serving team boss had been put under investigation by Red Bull’s Austrian-based parent company.

This was thought to be about a ‘file containing incriminating material’ about ‘inappropriate and controlling behaviour’ towards a woman, The Telegraph reported.

Red Bull’s Austrian parent company sent an independent lawyer to Britain to question the multimillionaire and his accuser.

The former driver, who leads world champion Max Verstappen’s all-conquering Red Bull team, endured an eight-hour grilling over the claims last week.

However, more allegations have recently emerged The Telegraph reported that Horner allegedly sent sex messages to his employee “over an extended period of time.”

Messages were allegedly saved and presented as evidence to the outside lawyer who led the investigation after the woman filed a complaint last December.

Mr Horner categorically denied the new allegations and would take legal action against De Telegraaf.

An F1 source told The Sun last week that “Christian has not been fired or asked to resign and he has no intention of resigning.”

The investigation raises the question of who could take over the helm of world champion Max Verstappen’s all-conquering racing team.

His wife Geri Halliwell is also said to be “terrified that her life will unravel” amid Horner’s investigation into “inappropriate behaviour”.

The ex-Spice Girl, who “burst into tears” when the Red Bull boss was hit with the allegations, fears the drama will drag on for years, a source claims.

But Geri, 51, is believed to have her husband’s back.

She has told friends: “Christian did nothing wrong.”

Horner has had an enormous period of success for the racing team: he won several F1 championships with Sebastian Vettel and Verstappen.

Red Bull has won seven Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championships and six Constructors’ World Championships under Horner’s leadership.

Last season the team won 21 of the 22 races on the global F1 tour, with 26-year-old Verstappen winning the drivers’ crown.

Horner received a CBE for services to motorsport in the 2024 New Year’s Honors List.

Curtis, who also catered the food at the 2022 SAG Awards, will also be catering this year for those attending the event’s official afterparty.

Speak with Fox newsCurtis emphasized the challenge of cooking for 900 people at the same time.

“We have to prepare a plate of food that everyone can serve very quickly, it has to be absolutely delicious, it has to be an expression of the season, so there are a lot of different considerations,” he explained.

The celebrity chef, who is best known for sharing $10 meal ideas for Coles, told TMZ that the burger is an “eat at your own risk” situation.

Stone said the burger – which contains about 740 calories – may have been built to help people deal with crazy cravings, but “does more harm than good.”
