SAMSUNG has launched a few smartphones that won’t break the bank despite flaunting some premium features.

It’s already been a busy year for the Korean tech giant, having launched a major AI with Samsung Galaxy S24 phones in January.

But now it’s time for some newcomers in the mid-range segment.

The two new devices are called the Galaxy A55 5G and the Galaxy A35 5G.

This is the first time that Samsung has added top-level security upgrades to the budget Galaxy A series devices.

And there’s also a great battery that Samsung claims can last up to two days on a single charge.

They show off improved cameras that can take better photos even in the dark.

Both are secured by Samsung Knox, the company’s multi-layered security platform designed to keep critical information safe and protect against bank robbery vulnerabilities.

There’s a 5,000mAh battery on board – which is the same size as the company’s top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra and also bigger than any iPhone battery.

The only real difference between the two is a slightly different chipset under the hood to power things – the A55 is a bit stronger on that front.

And the cameras aren’t identical either: the selfie camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels on the A55, compared to 13 megapixels on the A35.

Furthermore, they look exactly the same with a 6.6-inch display and four color options.

These include:

Prices start at £339 depending on the model and storage size you opt for.

Both will be available for purchase from March 20.

A BRAND NEW smartphone has been unveiled with a monstrous battery that can last a week on a single charge, its makers claim.

But tech nerds have pointed out a rather unfortunate side effect of having such colossal power – see for yourself in the video above.

A battery this size makes the device physically huge and heavy, leading some to describe the phone as “ugly” and like a “brick”.

The Energizer Hard Case P28K was unveiled this week at a major mobile event in Barcelona by a company called Avenir Telecom, which licenses the popular battery maker brand for use on phones.

It features a whopping 28,000 mAh battery that the company claims will last a full week with regular use.

That is more than six times the size of the battery of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and 5.6 times that of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

But all that power has to fit somewhere, so the Hard Case P28K is a lot bulkier than your average smartphone.

It’s 27.8mm thick, which is 3.5 times as thick as the iPhone 15 Pro Max if you include the camera bump.

It’s also a heavy beast at 570 grams, making it three times as heavy as the latest iPhone, reports The edge.

People have commented on the design and traded in for a huge battery.

“And once people start using it, they’ll immediately understand why no other company does and would rather compromise with a camera bump,” someone wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“It also serves as a safety feature in case you need to fend off an attacker,” said another.

A third joked: “You can use this as a phone, a power bank and also throw it as a deadly weapon.”

On the plus side, the company claims that the Hard Case P28K can be fully charged in less than an hour and a half.

They also say that the Hard Case P28K can deliver just over five days of solid talk time, while standby time is just under 94 days.

Specifically, it’s worth noting that the device does not support 5G.

On the inside you will find 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space.

And a triple camera setup has 60-megapixel, 20-megapixel and 2-megapixel lenses.

But the price is pretty cheap: Avenir Telecom plans to release the device in October for €250 / £214 / $270 – although it won’t be available in the US.

She took to the social media platform to reveal a staple of her skincare routine after she was asked for tips on how to get rid of dark circles.

“I had dark circles and I won't hesitate to share how I got rid of them because they used to bother me so much,” she said.

An old photo of her eyes showed that the skin beneath them was once noticeably darker than the rest of her face.

“I'm going to show you how I transformed this depressing, dormant Bermuda grass in our backyard using Lawn Star grass paint I got from Amazon,” she said.

In a garden sprayer she mixed half a bottle of the Grass paint €25 with two liters of water.

“It's quite simple… then you start watering and transform your garden,” she said.

After mixing the paint and water thoroughly, she tested the solution on a piece of plywood, making sure to avoid getting the paint on surfaces she didn't want to expose it to.

She laid out the plywood as a cover and began spraying her lawn with the paint.

“That color is quite natural. I have small dogs and once it dries it doesn't get on the paws in the house, it doesn't bleed when it rains,” she added.

“I tried this in our backyard last year, it lasted all winter. It may fade a little, but… it's so much better.”

RING owners are trading in their doorbells for a little-known alternative that shoppers say is cheaper and lasts longer.

But not everyone realizes that the online retailer also has a budget smart doorbell range called Blink.

It also offers two-way audio, so you can talk to whoever is at the door, as well as HD video – and it even works with Alexa devices.

But the main difference that can save you money is the way videos are stored.

Both Ring and Blink offer a subscription service to back up clips to the cloud.

You can still use both doorbells without saving videos, but it's a handy feature in case you need to go back and watch something.

One obvious difference, however, is that Blink allows users to save motion-sensing video recordings locally to a USB drive.

You will need to purchase a separate Sync Module 2 and own a USB storage device, but this can save you money in the long run.

Even if you choose to go the subscription route, Blink's subscription costs less.

A buyer named Oliver Strong wrote in the Amazon reviews, “So I'm going to start by saying that the short story is that I prefer the Blink system.

However, not everyone is sold on the gadget.

Another user named Craig Chew-Moulding gave it three starts due to performance issues.

“Bought as an alternative to a more expensive ring,” he said.

“The doorbell is a piece of cake to set up and install and when it is linked to specific Echos in the home, we no longer miss anyone at the door.

“However, the video functionality, the main reason you buy such a device, is poor.

“When the doorbell rings and you want to connect a two-way call and video, it takes a while for the app screen to load from selecting the phone notification.

“Usually the delivery person or visitor has actually left.”
