Nottingham Forest have been hit with a four-point deduction after breaching the Premier League’s winning and sustainability rules.

The penalty sees Forest drop into the relegation zone as they now sit 18th in the Premier League with 21 points, one point behind Luton in 17th. An appeal will likely follow.

The Premier League has claimed that the club exceeded the PSR threshold by as much as £34.5 million in the relevant period.

Forest were accused of breaching spending rules in January 2024, along with fellow Premier League side Everton, with the Toffees receiving a 10-point deduction earlier this season.

That penalty was later reduced to six points, but Forest have now suffered a similar fate at a crucial point in the campaign.

Forest published a statement on Monday outlining that they were ‘disappointed’ with the decision to hand out a points penalty, although they did say it was for the integrity of the competition to hand out the penalty ‘in the same season in which they are imposed. ‘.

Forest’s four-point penalty

Forest received a lower sanction than Everton, partly due to the fact that they admitted their guilt from the start and adopted a joined-up approach to the Premier League. By contrast, Everton denied breaking spending rules for a long period after they were charged.

Forest are likely to appeal, which the Premier League has promised to hear by April 15. The verdict would follow a month later. The Premier League has imposed itself a ‘backstop’ date of May 24 to conclude all PSR cases and any appeals. This is five days after the last day of the season, but the Premier League expects to have things resolved before then.

The Premier League has made it clear throughout this process that they do not have a set sanctions policy and do not recommend a set points deduction. Each individual case is considered and heard on its merits by a separate, independent committee, and they have no current plans to change this. The independent committee that heard Everton’s appeal last month ruled that a six-point deduction was “necessary and sufficient” to enforce the PSR rules, but did not recommend its introduction as a minimum rate.

By Matt Hughes

It added: ‘We were extremely appalled by the tone and content of the Premier League’s submissions to the Commission.

‘After months of involvement in the Premier League and exceptional cooperation throughout, this was unexpected and has damaged the confidence we had in the Premier League.

‘For the Premier League to require an eight-point sanction as a starting point was completely disproportionate compared to the nine points prescribed by their own rules for insolvency.

‘We were also surprised that the Premier League did not take into account the club’s unique circumstances and their mitigation at all. In circumstances where this approach is adopted by future PSR committees, it would make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for newly promoted clubs without parachute payments to compete, undermining the integrity and competitiveness of the Premier League.”

The statement also referred to a deal to sell Brennan Johnson to Tottenham, which would be a key part of their defense for breaching spending rules in the relevant period.

Because FFP calculations are made over a three-year period ending June 30, the Johnson deal will count towards the 2021-24 settlement rather than 2020-23 as it was completed on deadline day.

Clubs are allowed to incur financial losses of £105 million over three years, with Forest reporting an annual loss of £45.6 million in their latest accounts.

Another complication comes from Forest being a Premier League team for only one of those three seasons; Championship clubs have losses of up to £13m per season, meaning their cap was effectively £61m.

Forest say they could have sold Johnson to Brentford in June for around £30m, which would have put them in a healthier financial position for the 2020-2023 period, but almost £20m out of pocket in total.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side now face an uphill battle to stay in the Premier League for another year

This deduction puts Forest at greater risk of relegation if they end up in the bottom three

For the club’s sustainability, they claim that accepting almost £50 million for Johnson in August was better than £30 million earlier in the summer.

The statement continued: ‘Even after missing the PSR reporting deadline, the Club still took steps to ensure that Brennan Johnson was sold before the end of the transfer window. That was a clear demonstration of our respect and support for PSR.

‘The Commission’s decision raises questions that are important for all aspiring clubs. The player transfer market is a highly specialized trading environment that cannot be compared to the sale of normal products and services.

‘There will be cases where a player transfer cannot be completed in the first half of a transfer window and only at the end of that period. This should not be a reason for condemning a club. That this is not recognized by the Commission or the Premier League should be a matter of great concern to all fans of our national football.

‘Of wider concern to all aspiring clubs is the worrying effect this decision will have on the operation of the player trading model. This is the only model that allows clubs outside the small group at the top of the Premier League to realistically move up the football pyramid.”

Forest’s response to the punishment concluded with the insinuation that ‘the high level of cooperation’ they had shown throughout the process had not been ‘reciprocated’ by the league.

Prior to the announcement, Forest were just three points ahead of Luton in 18th, with the Hatters earning a late 1-1 draw with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Saturday to stay within striking distance, although they now move Forest to 17th took place. .

A hearing took place to decide what punishment the club faced on Thursday and Friday last week, ahead of Saturday’s match.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side now sit in 17th place, but the boss claims his side will continue to fight against relegation

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side now sit in 17th place, but the boss claims his side will continue to fight against relegation

Forest’s spending since returning to the English top flight in early 2022-23 has been extremely lavish.

From that summer onwards, no less 42 players have come to the City Ground for more than £250 million.

Asked about the upcoming ruling after Saturday’s clash with Luton, Espirito Santo said the club would ‘keep going and fighting’ in a bid to overcome defeat.

The indictment against Manchester City in February for 115 alleged infringements is an ongoing case.

FOREST’S FULL STATEMENT

Nottingham Forest are extremely disappointed with the Commission’s decision to impose a four-point sanction on the Club, which will be applied with immediate effect.

Despite our disappointment, we thank the Commission for its willingness to deal with this matter on an accelerated basis. The Club considers it essential to the integrity of the competition that the charge be resolved in the season in which the charge is filed.

We were extremely disturbed by the tone and content of the Premier League’s comments to the Commission.

After months of involvement in the Premier League and exceptional cooperation throughout, this was unexpected and has damaged the confidence we had in the Premier League.

The fact that the Premier League required an eight-point sanction as a starting point was completely disproportionate compared to the nine points prescribed by their own rules for insolvency.

We were also surprised that the Premier League did not take into account the club’s unique circumstances and mitigation at all. In circumstances where this approach is adopted by future PSR committees, it would make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for newly promoted clubs without parachute payments to compete, undermining the integrity and competitiveness of the Premier League.

While the Premier League may have questioned the Club’s business plan, the Club continues to maintain that it has responsibly balanced PSR compliance with significant investment in the squad to ensure that for the first time in over twenty years we to compete in the competition.

Even after the Club missed the PSR reporting deadline, it still took steps to ensure Brennan Johnson was sold before the end of the transfer window. That was a clear demonstration of our respect and support for PSR.

The Commission’s decision raises questions that are important for all aspiring clubs. The player transfer market is a highly specialized trading environment that cannot be compared to the sale of normal products and services.

It may happen that a player transfer cannot be completed in the first half of a transfer period and only at the end of that period. This should not be a reason for condemning a club. That this is not recognized by the Commission or the Premier League should be a matter of great concern to all fans of our national football.

Of wider concern to all aspiring clubs is the worrying effect this decision will have on the operation of the player trading model. This is the only model that allows clubs outside the small group at the top of the Premier League to realistically move up the football pyramid.

The Commission’s rationale is that clubs should only invest after they have made a profit on their player development. This reasoning destroys mobility in the football pyramid and the effect of the decision will be to drastically reduce the room for maneuver for all such clubs, leading to stagnation of our national game.

We believe that the high level of cooperation shown by the Club throughout this process, which is confirmed and recorded in the Commission’s decision, was not reciprocated by the Premier League.

What are Nottingham Forest accused of?

Nottingham Forest is under investigation for alleged breaches of profit and sustainability legislation.

The club is facing a possible points deduction after being charged in January for PSR breaches in their accounts through 2022-2023.

A hearing took place on March 7 and 8 and an announcement could be made today.

With PSR, clubs can lose £105m over three seasons.

It is currently unclear exactly how much Forest have broken the rules, but a points deduction could put the club’s continued existence in the Premier League in doubt.

Standings in the Premier League now that Forest receives a points deduction

Nottingham Forest are three points above the relegation zone with nine games left to play.

If they were to receive a points deduction, Nuno Espírito Santo’s survival hopes could be dashed.

It is believed that the party will discover its fate as early as today.

Nottingham Forest could discover their fate today

Nottingham Forest is expected to know as early as today whether the team will face a points deduction.

Forest is under investigation for alleged breaches of profit and sustainability legislation and could face a points deduction.

Anything more than three points would see the Prem side slip into the relegation zone with just nine games remaining.

The prankster was back in shape after a successful operation to remove kidney stones.

The ‘excited’ star told a sell-out crowd at Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham: ‘I’m not 100 per cent but I’m here and it’s nice to get out of bed!’ to great applause.

The beloved British comedian, looking trim and toned in a black suit and white shirt, gave his first performance since undergoing emergency surgery.

The 48-year-old entertainer – medically cleared by doctors this week – said the excruciating pain of having kidney stones was worse than childbirth, saying: ‘It hurts.’

And he said to the audience who had had babies but did not suffer from his disease: ‘You have no idea what pain is!

“It’s the worst pain I’ve ever experienced.”

The star, who also joked about his weight struggles during his 90-minute performance, said: “I’ve lost a stone but not in the way I thought.”

The crowd was in stitches.

McIntyre then went into detail about the symptoms and treatment, saying: ‘For three days I had to urinate every hour. No chance of sex!

“The doctors said you have natural holes and we need to go in and take it out.

“And while I was waiting for surgery, a woman came up to me and started singing The Wheel!”

The comic, looking good, added: ‘Now I’m full of codeine and out of my face. It’s quite fun. I could get used to it!

“I’m getting another kidney stone, it’s fun.”

He opened his performance with the words: ‘Welcome Nottingham, I have reached this beautiful city.’

He ended with massive cheers, beaming:

‘I’m so glad I could come here tonight.

The star wowed the crowd and they were happy that he was fit and well enough to perform after his health problems.

McIntyre, who has been touring Britain on his 50-date MACNIFICENT tour, was forced to postpone performances following surgery at Southampton’s Mayflower Theater and Plymouth Pavilions when he first fell ill.

Fans were quick to wish him a speedy recovery on social media.

Concerned giggoers were unsure if he would be good enough to fill the remaining tour dates.

But in a welcome update on Wednesday, his promoters told Off The Curb: ‘Michael McIntyre has undergone successful surgery to remove kidney stones and is recovering well.

“He has been medically cleared to perform in Nottingham on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and is very excited to be back on stage.”

It followed an earlier announcement: ‘We regret to inform customers that Michael McIntyre will not be able to perform at the Mayflower Theater in Southampton on Monday 4 March.

‘Unfortunately, Michael has undergone surgery to remove kidney stones. The show will be rescheduled to a later date, which will be announced soon.

‘Tickets remain valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend on the new date, you are entitled to a refund. We apologize for the inconvenience.’

The comic is also known for hosting Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and the game show The Wheel on the BBC.

The popular McIntyre recently spoke out about his weight struggles.

He previously attended a £4,000-a-week special weight loss clinic to lose more than two stone, but has since turned it back on and developed a fear of apples in the process.

He traveled to Austria to get into better shape and, after undergoing several tests, was told not to eat apples.

He claims he is now afraid to eat the fruit, which he was told would make him ‘drowsy’ and ‘confused’.

But despite successfully losing weight, he is struggling to keep it off now that he is back in Britain because his wife Kitty prefers ‘teddy bear Michael’.

He told The Sun: ‘I went to a place called the Mayr Clinic and lost quite a bit of weight, which I kept up for a while.

‘It was a week of pain and they did all these tests on me, putting little probes on the end of my tongue and telling me not to eat apples.

‘Apparently apples make me very lethargic and confused in my head. It’s actually the only thing I took from it.’

He added that he has now regained the weight he lost and has also developed a fear of apples.

In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan fled the royal family and the United Kingdom to start their new lives in America, seemingly far from press interference and media attention.

But it didn’t take long for them to return to the public eye – in one of the most incendiary ways imaginable.

About 50 million people around the world watched as the duo took part in an 85-minute interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 7, 2021.

The surprising revelations still resonate three years later.

Chatting in the sun-drenched garden of a Californian mansion – which turned out to be owned by a friend of Oprah – a heavily pregnant Meghan described her time with the royal family as a nightmare she had barely survived.

She told how she had to give up her passport, driving licence, keys and other personal belongings when she moved into the cramped confines of Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

“I left the house twice in four months,” she told Oprah, adding, “I couldn’t feel lonelier.”

She remembered watching the Little Mermaid cartoon and dating Ariel, the mermaid who trades her voice for legs to marry her prince.

‘She falls in love with a prince and loses her voice because of it.’

Oprah asked the now famous question, “Were you silent or were you silenced?”

“The latter,” Meghan replied.

She claimed that the situation had deteriorated so much that she had even considered suicide.

“I didn’t want to live anymore,” she told Oprah. ‘It was a clear, real and frightening constant thought.’

Yet Meghan claimed that Palace staff offered her no help when she went to them to beg for support, even though she was six months pregnant with Archie at the time.

“I was told that wasn’t possible, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution,” she said.

She described an exchange with an unnamed but senior member of Palace staff.

“I remember this conversation like it was yesterday because they said, ‘My heart goes out to you because I see how bad it is, but there is nothing we can do to protect you because you are not a paid employee of the institution. ” Meghan recalled.

The other bombshell was the Sussexes’ suggestion that the royal family was collectively racist, pointing the finger at an unnamed member who, they alleged, had racially speculated about the color of the royal family’s skin. their son Archie when Meghan was pregnant.

“When I was pregnant,” Markle recalled family members having, “there were concerns and conversations about how dark his skin would be when he was born. People were concerned about how dark Archie’s skin would be.’

A tense-looking Harry confirmed this, saying that he was the one who heard these comments and told his wife.

Harry and Meghan said they would not reveal who made the statement, with Meghan saying: ‘I think that would be very damaging to them. [to reveal].’

But later – especially when Harry published his memoirs Spare – this particular controversy seemed to be forgotten

The Duke and Duchess also raised eyebrows by claiming they were officially married by the Archbishop of Canterbury three days before their actual wedding day in May 2018.

Whatever took place before the official ceremony at St George’s Chapel, the Archbishop of Canterbury denied it was a wedding. to an Italian newspaper:

‘The legal wedding was on Saturday. I signed the marriage certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a serious criminal offense if I had signed it knowing it was false.

‘So you can make of it what you want. But the legal wedding was on Saturday. But I won’t say what happened at other meetings.’

Meghan used the interview to debunk reports that she made her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, cry over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid outfit in the run-up to her wedding.

In fact, the Duchess of Sussex said, the opposite was true: the Duchess of Cambridge was the one who made it happen her shout.

“It was a really rough week of the wedding, and she was upset about something,” Meghan explained to Oprah.

“But she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing. She did what I would do if I knew I had hurt someone, by just taking responsibility for it.”

Harry was also unimpressed when it came to the royal family.

He accused members of The Firm of being jealous of Meghan because of the “effortless” way Meghan had captivated audiences during their tour of the Commonwealth and “how good she was at her job.”

And for the first time, he made it clear that he and Prince William were at odds, saying that “he loved him dearly” but that “we are on different paths.”

He also described the then Prince Charles and William as ‘trapped’. “They are not allowed to leave and I feel sorry for that,” he said.

What members of the royal family think about the interview is unknown, as most of them have remained silent in response, but Prince William’s own response to a reporter was simply the casual comment: “We are not a racist family at all.”

And the Queen only released a statement suggesting the Sussexes’ story might not be the same as hers.

A couple who swapped their ‘noisy and busy’ lives in Edinburgh for a ‘slower way of life’ on the Isle of Skye said they would never return to the city.

Elopement photographers and filmmakers Joanna and Nathan Gull said they were ‘moving from flat to flat’ in Edinburgh and felt they ‘never had room to breathe’.

After visiting the Isle of Skye for work it was love at first sight. The two ‘instantly knew it was their home’ and found an idyllic rural cottage to rent on the Strathaird Peninsula on the south coast.

The pair, originally from Nottingham, moved in August 2023 and now spend their days exploring the island and waking up to ‘beautiful scenery’.

Joanna posts snippets of her daily life on the Isle of Skye on her TikTok account (@joannaelizagull), where she has received over 130,000 likes. She told MailOnline Travel: ‘We will always love Edinburgh, but especially as a two-day trip, knowing we can go home to the mountains.’

Although she said it takes them almost an hour to ‘go to the shops’ on the island, as opposed to a ten-minute return trip in Edinburgh, she explained: ‘We like to be slow and much prefer to take our time things to enjoy. than that you feel rushed.’

The pair have been able to continue their work on the island, using the beauty of the Isle of Skye as a backdrop for couples photo shoots.

On shoot days, Joanna said they would wake up before sunrise and go to “wherever on the island we are working.”

The 27-year-old said: ‘Life is naturally slower in the Highlands, which works well for our brains and the way we work.

“Skye just feels so much safer too.”

What’s more, they have had no trouble meeting people and even claim that more friends visit their remote cottage than ever visit their city flat.

Although Joanna said they “already had a lot of friends on the island,” she has been able to connect with “other photographers and artists who all have the same values.”

Most of whom, she claimed, have also moved from cities.

She said: “The area we live in is such a lovely community too. It was so nice to meet the locals and hear their stories!’

She added: ‘In Edinburgh my favorite place to go was the beach, but the beaches of Skye are so much more beautiful and peaceful. There is also so much to explore, and we plan to try a new trail or walk every week.”

They even spend their free time exploring other Scottish islands such as Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides, which Joanna said must have ‘some of the most beautiful beaches in the world’.

For those fancying a trip to the Isle of Skye, Joanna recommends taking a walk on the Old Man of Storr, a rocky hill on the Trotternish Peninsula, before heading to the beach.

She also suggests heading to the colorful town of Portree to enjoy the restaurants and shops.

Antiques Roadshow expert Ronnie Archer-Morgan left a guest stunned after the valuation of their item was hundreds of thousands less than they expected.

During the latest episode of the BBC show at Nottingham’s Wollation Hall, Ronnie examined a figure from the Kota tribe in Gabon.

The current owner expected a valuation in the region of £250,000 after the expert revealed that one had been sold for this a few years ago.

However, the owner was left disappointed as instead of reaching the heights of a six-figure valuation, he was told it was worth a fraction of this, at £150.

Luckily, the guest revealed that he had paid just £1.50 for the item ten years ago.

Ronnie jokingly said, “You really took a risk, didn’t you?”

Antiques Roadshow expert Ronnie Archer-Morgan left a guest stunned after the valuation of their item was hundreds of thousands less than they expected.

The guest replied, “Well, I was intrigued by the fact that it looked like someone had put a lot of work into it.”

Ronnie explained, “When you unwrapped this, my heart really skipped a beat because it’s one of my favorite African tribal characters. This is a Kota reliquary guardian figure and they put this on the bones of their ancestors to protect them and they polished this metal.

“And in the 19th century they were brass and copper, this is just copper, the brass and copper were like gold to them. They are so highly regarded in the art world that they have one in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.”

He continued: “They are such iconic examples of African tribal art. They hammer the metal over the wooden sculpture and then chase the metal with these designs.

‘And it’s the geometric shape that makes them so attractive, and they influenced the greatest modern artists of all time, because they were very much sought after at the beginning of modernism.

‘But unfortunately this is a very nice specimen. It’s a bit of the wrong size. This was probably made around 1980 and such an example is probably worth around £150. It’s a hundred times more than you paid for it.’

Earlier this week, another guest was shocked to discover the value of a watch he found broken in a junk shop.

In this episode, members of the public brought their belongings to Powis Castle in Welshpool, with one man hoping to learn more about the timepiece.

He explained to expert Alistair Chandler how he paid £40 for a box of odds, only to later discover the watch was hidden at the bottom.

The guest said, “There were all kinds of bits in there [the box] and there were some tools I wanted, but at the bottom were some dead watches, and among them was this one.

Alistair immediately gushed over the item, telling the guest how he had ‘come across a gem’.

He then explained how the watch was made by designer Jaeger-Lecoultre, before also pointing out the name of luxury London jeweler Asprey on the dial.

Alistair said: ‘It really oozes style’ before revealing it was made in the 1930s and was one of the ‘forerunners of design’ for the time.

Turning to the valuation he concluded: ‘I think you paid £40 pounds, in the current market and interest in Jaeger watches and given the store name Asprey’.

‘I think someone would easily pay £1,500 to £2,000 for this watch.’

The man looked bewildered and sighed before laughing, “That wasn’t a bad day of shopping.”

Manchester City loanee Phillips received two yellow cards in three minutes during the 2-0 defeat at Manchester City Nottingham Forest.

He first pushed Nicolas Dominguez, who tried to prevent him from taking a quick free-kick, before receiving a second yellow card for a challenge on Morgan Gibbs-White.

Phillips said: “I waited outside the referee's room to have a chat with him.

'But after half an hour he still wasn't out. I don't know if he knew I was there or not.

'I didn't want to abuse him. I just wanted to have a conversation about it.

'In the end I go home without saying my word.

“I'm just disappointed, especially because I'm working on getting myself back into a position where I can help, but now I have to miss a game.”

England international Phillips has had a terrible loan spell at the London Stadium so far.

But Hammers boss David Moyes was quick to jump to his defense after his early bath at the City Ground.

The Scot said: “The departure was a huge blow because it was a close game and we were always 1-0.

Man Utd fans brutally troll Kalvin Phillips with X-rated chant as he warms up, but City rival responds perfectly

“From the moment we came back to ten men, it would be twice as difficult.

“I thought Kalvin played much better today, he did a lot of good things.

“I didn't see it coming. The crowd played a big part in supporting Nottingham Forest, along with the referee, and played a role as they always do here.

“The first time the guy blocks him and he pushes him away because he's trying to play the game fast, while we're trying to get back in the game and win it.

“Nowadays you get a yellow card for being in front of the ball, so he shouldn't have pushed it, I understand that.

'The second one – I was only told – I didn't see it.

'But they say the two boots are very close and they just come together.

“It looks like a whole meal was made of it, but that's what it is.”

NOTTINGHAM FOREST ended their 23-year absence from top flight football at the City Ground last season with a 1-0 win over West Ham.

And on Saturday, 18 months later, David Moyes Hammers returns.

But the side the East Enders face is unrecognizable from the side they lost against at home to Forest.

For starters, Nuno Espirito Santo has replaced Steve Cooper in the dugout.

But incredibly, of the 20 players Cooper stripped for action that day, only four have a chance to appear this time.

Forest's backup goalkeeper in 2022 was Wayne Hennessey, who has now dropped to fourth choice behind Matz Sels, Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos.

That leaves goalscorer Taiwo Awoniyi, full-backs Neco Williams and Harry Toffolo and Moussa Niakhate as the four survivors who could feature again.

That means as many as 15 players who took on the Hammers last time out are no longer at Forest.

Here, SunSport reveals where they all disappeared to.

DEAN HENDERSON (CRYSTAL PALACE)

Was the hero of the day, along with Awoniyi against West Ham, when he saved Declan Rice's penalty.

HOW TO GET FREE BETTS ON FOOTBALL

Signed by Manchester United to make the deal permanent, fate saw Henderson suffer a season-ending thigh injury against Leicester City in January.

He returned to United, who sold him to Palace for £20 million in August.

Everton and Nottingham Forest CHARGED by the Premier League and will be deducted six points

JOE WORRALL (BESIKTAS)

Captained Forest on their return to the Prem, but fell out of favor with Cooper towards the end of his time at the City Ground.

Couldn't find a permanent place under Nuno and was loaned out to Turkish side Besiktas earlier this month.

SCOTT McKENNA (FC COPENHAGEN)

Forest's Player of the Year in their promotion-winning season, the Scottish defender missed large parts of their first Premier season due to hamstring and collarbone injuries.

Was out of Cooper's plans this season. He was loaned to FC Copenhagen in January and played against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.

OREL MANGALA (FC LYON)

The Belgian midfielder joined the Reds from Stuttgart in July 2022 and made 53 appearances for Forest.

But he was allowed to leave on loan for the rest of the season at Lyon on deadline day as Forest looked to balance the books for profit and sustainability purposes.

LEWIS O'BRIEN (MIDDLESBROUGH)

Joins the club with Harry Toffolo from Huddersfield after Forest defeated them at Wembley in the Play-Off final.

Started last season but lost his place and was due to join Blackburn on loan but missed the transfer due to late filing of paperwork.

On loan to MLS side DC United, now on loan to Boro.

JESSE LINGARD (FC SEOUL)

Arrived to much fanfare and a huge salary package from Manchester United on a free transfer in July 2022.

But failed to score or provide an assist in his 17 league appearances and was released at the end of a disappointing debut season.

Just signed a two-year contract with Korean K League club FC Seoul.

BRENNAN JOHNSON (TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR)

The homegrown hero started last season by signing a new four-year contract for Forest and ended it by signing for Spurs on a £47.5million deal.

Forest were forced to cash in on their star striker to ease PSR pressure amid the threat of points deductions.

GIULIAN BIANCON (OLYMPIACOS)

The 23-year-old French right-back joined from Ligue 1 club Troyes on a three-year contract but never featured in a Prem match.

Coming on as a substitute for twelve minutes in a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City and four minutes in a 0-0 draw against Brighton.

Flogged to Olympiacos in September for an undisclosed fee.

STEVE KOOK (QPR)

The experienced centre-back helped Forest to promotion, making 14 appearances in all competitions on their return to the Prem.

Signed for QPR in August.

LOIC MBE SOH (CITY OF ALMERE)

The Cameroonian centre-back cost £4.5m from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2020 and has made 13 appearances for Forest – none of them in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old spent much of last season on loan for Guingamp. Now on loan to Almere City in the Dutch Eredivisie.

SAM SURRIDGE (NASHVILLE SC)

Signed from Stoke City for £2.2 million and scored seven goals in twenty appearances to help Forest gain promotion.

However, he spent most of his time on the bench in the Prem, starting just one of his 20 league matches.

Sold to MLS side Nashville for £5 million in July.

ALEX MACHTEN (GATE VALE)

US-born but Nottingham-bred youngster who has come through the club's Academy.

Made more than 50 appearances for the club, but a brief seven-minute appearance against Newcastle United on their return to the top flight was his only taste of the Premier League.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Port Vale.

CAFU (ROTHERHAM UNITED)

The Portuguese midfielder joined Forest from sister club Olympiacos in 2020 and helped them gain promotion.

But he played just six minutes in the Premier League, coming on for Orel Mangala in the match against West Ham.

Released at the end of last season and joined Rotherham.

LYLE TAYLOR (CAMBRIDGE UNITED)

Signed on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic in 2020 and scored eight goals in 33 appearances during Forest's promotion season.

But the striker didn't play a minute in the Prem last season and was loaned out to Birmingham City and Wycombe before joining Cambridge.
