Terrifying moment road rage incident escalated after driver emerged from a car with a knife

The terrifying moment a road rage incident escalated when a man blocked a car before emerging with a knife has been captured on dashcam footage.

The occupants of a black car were probably involved in a previous traffic accident with another driver in a white car 2GB‘S Ben Fordham.

The man in the white car then overtook the surprised occupants of the black car and stopped his hatchback in the middle of the road.

The occupants of the black car, which was fitted with a dashcam, can be heard repeatedly saying, “Don’t get out of the car,” before the man emerged from his car in the rain, wearing a black hoodie and black shorts – and brandishing a knife.

The video showed the man running toward the black vehicle and hitting the side of the car.

The frightened driver then stepped on the accelerator to avoid the knife-wielding man.

A crash is heard and it appears the vehicle trying to get away may have struck the stationary white car.

You hear the occupants of the black car ask each other ‘why he did that’.

“Didn’t you see what he did?” a man asked.

“He had a knife in his hands,” one woman replied.

One of the passengers said they had to ‘call the police’ before realizing their terrifying encounter was not over: the man was now following them.

The terrifying encounter left the black vehicle damaged after colliding while trying to escape the knifeman, and left the paint next to the man’s car ‘keyed’

“Oh my God, he’s coming after you, call the police,” a woman can be heard saying.

You hear another say: ‘I’m scared, I’m scared, I’m scared, I’m scared.’

Photos at the end of the video show damage to the passenger side of the black car from the crash and appear to show the man scratched the vehicle with his knife.

A 2GB listener told the station that the man in the black car was her grandson Brad.

“My grandson made a man jump out of his car in a state of rage with a knife in his hand,” she wrote.

“He threw his arms in the air… and as he approached my grandson’s car, he started cutting into the car.

‘My granddaughter and her friend were in the backseat. My granddaughter…called ]triple 0.

It is understood the incident occurred on April 5 when the listener’s family members were on their way to an NRL match.

“My grandson will have a hard time driving the car knowing what happened in it,” the listener continued.

‘They are very shocked by what happened. “He had to go onto the footpath at certain points to get out of the way because the man was chasing him.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted NSW Police for comment on the incident.
