Cleaning lady Mallory, who posts tips and tricks on Instagram, recently shared three alternative uses for dish soap and her hacks, leaving people baffled.

From removing set-in stains to using it as an ice pack, there are more uses than you might think.

Unclogging a toilet

‘This happens more often than I would like. But a cup of dish soap in the dresser will turn that porcelain hole into a slide,” the cleaning lady explained.

All you have to do is squirt some dish soap into the bowl and let it sit for about 30 minutes to an hour.

“That slide and slide toilet magically flushes away in a minute or two. If it doesn’t work in the first round, it might take a round two to get number two down,” Mallory added.

DIY ice pack

You don’t have to keep a bag full frozen peas to your body if you injure yourself, you can make an ice pack with a resealable bag and some dish soap.

Simply fill the plastic bag halfway with dish soap and wait for it to freeze.

“It freezes to a semi-solid state, making it perfect for holding booboos or puffy eyes.

“Not only does it mold to whatever you hold it on, but it stays colder longer than ice and doesn’t have as much condensation,” Mallory explains.

And the best part is, you can just put it back in the freezer when you’re done with it.

Remove stains

This one may be a bit obvious, but if you haven’t tried using dish soap to remove stains, you’re missing out.

Before you throw the stained garment in the wash, spray it with soap and scrub it away.

Then machine wash it as usual and the stain should come right out.

“Be mindful of the fabric you are scrubbing. I mainly only tested on cotton and denim because that’s what we live in at my house,” Mallory noted.
