A TikTok love story went tragically wrong after the man appeared in court accused of murdering his fellow influencer.

TikTok stars Mateus Johannes, 28, and Claudia Kambanza, 22, surprised their followers with videos showing off their supposedly perfect romance.

Johannes has appeared in court charged with murdering Claudia.

She was found stabbed in Hinderwell Street, near Princes Avenue, at around 3am a week ago and died in hospital.

Claudia's family have paid tribute to her in a statement published by Humberside Police.

They said: 'Claudia was a kind and warm-hearted person, who was not afraid of challenges and always wanted good for other people.

'She always loved to cook and entertain people. She had an accommodating attitude and was a people person.”

Johannes has been charged with the murder of Claudia in Hull, East Yorkshire.

Claudia and Johannes are said to have regularly appeared online together since moving to Britain from Namibia.

They are said to have raked in a fortune from their performances, with glimpses into their lives and happy outings as a couple.

In one video, posted to the couple's shared account, Claudia and Johannes show their followers a romantic evening at Hull Fair with clips of them kissing on rides and holding hands.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before the same court again on March 28.
