Toddler who died after being hit by a car at a popular showground is identified – as his heartbroken mother breaks her silence

A toddler who died after being hit by a car at a popular showground has been identified as three-year-old Toby Allen.

His heartbroken mother Tyana Maree Dowler announced the death of her “beautiful little boy” who loved dinosaurs on social media.

“It is with a heavy heart that Chris, Ella, Arlo and I have to post this,” she posted on behalf of herself and her grieving family.

‘On Tuesday, our beautiful little boy Toby was unfortunately involved in a tragic accident (which resulted in) his precious life being cut short.

“Right now, we’re doing the best we can to get through each day and be there for what’s left of our family.”

Toby was found in a critical condition at Rockhampton Showgrounds on Exhibition Road, in central Queensland, about 4.30pm on Tuesday.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the three-year-old at the scene but he could not be saved.

The tragedy occurred a week before the start of the Rockhampton Agricultural Show.

Mrs Dowler said it had been a ‘very difficult time’ for her family.

‘We find comfort in knowing that our baby is watching us and, as Ella would like to say, ‘he, along with all the dinosaurs he loves so much, is their king and rides them’.

“Fly high my beautiful boy. You are so loved in life and even more so in death.”
