Bhopal News: Days after a seven-month-old baby boy fell prey to a pack of stray dogs in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday sought suggestions from the people of the state to curb the menace of rabid canines terrorizing the state capital. curb. .
“To prevent such incidents, it is necessary that suggestions are sought from people so that appropriate action can be taken,” Yadav said in a video shared on his official X handle.
Expressing grief over the heartbreaking death of the child who was mauled to death by stray dogs in Ayodhya Nagar area of Bhopal on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said he has issued instructions to administrative officials to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.

“The news of the death of a child due to a dog bite in Bhopal is very heartbreaking. I have issued instructions to the administrative officials to ensure that such incidents do not recur and how they can be stopped,” Yadav said in a post on X.
CM Yadav extended his condolences to the bereaved families, laborers of Guna district and also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakhs and ensured that strict measures were taken to prevent such incidents.
He also urged people to inform their respective district collectors about open borewells to prevent children from accidentally falling into them
7-month-old baby mauled by stray dogs
In a gruesome incident, a seven-month-old baby was attacked and killed by a pack of stray dogs in Bhopal's Ayodhya Nagar area on Wednesday. A video of the gruesome incident that went viral on social media platforms showed the child's arm being torn off by the canines.
The child's body was exhumed after the family itself performed the last rites on Wednesday and sent for post-mortem on Saturday, police said.
Ayodhya Nagar Inspector Mahesh Nilhare said the child's mother had put him on the ground to work nearby and a pack of stray dogs lying in wait attacked the baby and dragged him away.
People in the area raised the alarm, but by then the dogs had disfigured and severed the child's arm, killing him on the spot, the official said.
Following the incident, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation has captured eight stray dogs from Ayodhya Nagar, while the Collector has ordered a campaign to capture such animals, officials said.
