A COUPLE began their own investigation after hearing a strange noise inside their wall.

Things took an even stranger turn when they discovered the shocking reason behind it.

“The moment we discovered the source of the noise in our wall,” said Steph (@sugarsteph).

The homeowner’s husband tried to identify the noisy perpetrator by cutting a square in the wall.

A gray shape came into view, but the mystery was not yet solved.

“I’m still not sure what it is,” she said.

Steph began to rub the object with her hand until something came over the other side of the wall: a leg.

And that wasn’t all.

“And then there he is,” she said.

Instead of coming out of the bag, one cat had come out of the wall.

The case could now be closed when an adult cat emerged.

Her fans didn’t hesitate to lay the blame either.

“Cat distribution is getting sneaky,” said one follower.

This phenomenon refers to the belief that instead of people choosing their cats, cats choose their people.

For example, if a stray cat walks up to you, consider yourself chosen.

Steph also clarified a few other things about the cat.

The cat, which had only been in the wall for one night, had been coming and going from the attic for days and suffered only a small scratch on its cheek.

There are dozens of stray cats in her own neighborhood, and most will likely be euthanized if taken to a shelter.

This prompted her and her husband to partner with an organization that aims to help animals in need.

Others were still surprised when they found out who the suspect was.

“I thought it was a raccoon,” said one follower.

“We thought for a moment it was insulation or something,” she replied.
