Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith presented a united front for Thanksgiving 2023, despite their ongoing separation.
“A perfect Thanksgiving day✨ I hope yours was too♥️✨,” Pinkett Smith, 52, wrote via Instagram on Friday, November 24, sharing a series of photos taken during the holiday.
In several shots, Pinkett Smith was with her children — Willow, 23, and Jaden, 25, whom she shares with Smith — and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. In the snap, Smith, 55, and Pinkett Smith posed together. The Oscar winner leaned over to hug Pinkett Smith and placed his hand on her shaved head.
Smith posted another photo of the couple on his Instagram, where he kissed the top of Pinkett Smith’s head and wrapped an arm around her waist. She closed her eyes and smiled.
Smith’s eldest son, Trey, whom he shares with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino was also at the festivities. The blended family was even in the group photo together.
“Best Thanksgiving Ever!!” Writing via his Instagram on Friday, Smith uploaded the photo with Pinkett Smith, Zampino, 56, and his three children.
Norris, 70, also documented the autumn holidays on her Instagram, noting that the group “ate together,” “laughed” and “loved together.” She even showed off a glimpse of the elegant tablescape, complete with votive candles and delicate orange and white decorations.
Two years after Smith divorced Zampino, he married Pinkett Smith in 1997. They eventually split in 2016, but didn’t share the news publicly until earlier this year.
“I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted from trying,” Pinkett Smith said during an October appearance on the channel Today show, discuss her Worthy memoirs. “I think we were both still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other should be like.”
Pinkett Smith, who details the divorce in her book, added that the couple lived separately but that there is “no divorce on paper.”
“I don’t think I’m ready yet,” she said Today Hoda Kotb. “We’re still trying to figure out how to work together, right, and how to present that to people, you know? And we hadn’t thought of that. … We work very hard to bring our relationship together. Back to a life partnership.”
Smith supported Pinkett Smith’s memoir despite its revelations. When she showed her family the book cover for the first time in a social media video last month, Smith was present alongside Willow and Jaden.
