However, when she saw how “greedy” other people were, she urged herself to just be happy with the arrangement.

Sharing a photo of the chickens, marked with their yellow stickers, on the Facebook group for shopping tips, tricks and deals with yellow stickersshe wrote, “Why do I feel bad for taking two? This will definitely help us, just like everyone else right now.”

After putting one of the chickens in her cart, a saleswoman came by and put “eight Taste the Difference Steaks on the shelf, also for 10 cents each.”

“Two guys took four each, I couldn’t get close,” she continued.

“I saw them looking at the other chicken, so I thought, ‘You don’t have it, I do’ and I put it in my cart while I was standing next to it.”

Another chicken was then released, which was “quickly picked up and taken away by her colleague”.

‘Do employees get a chance at these bargains?’ she asked.

“I felt bad that I might have taken something from an employee because I imagine working at Sainsbury’s this weekend was not pleasant with all the problems.”

She concluded by writing: “I saw the shop assistant looking at me, I hope she didn’t think I was greedy!

“There were three huge tubs of 10-cent chicken drumsticks left.

‘You need to run to B&M’ shouts mum as toys are almost 90% off – and she’s even finished her Christmas shopping

“Never seen 10p discounts before!”

The comments section was almost immediately filled with people defending the woman’s choice to get the chickens, with one person writing: “You got there first.

“You have to eat like everyone else. Why wouldn’t you have it?

“It’s not like you brought ten.

“Even if you did, it’s your business.”

“Take what you want,” another added.

“Two chickens is hardly a cart full.”

“I worked for Waitrose for over 16 years and we were only allowed to do these bargains when we weren’t working,” said another.

“So we don’t get any preferential treatment.”

“Oh okay, I feel a little better now,” the buyer then responded.

‘The staff really looked at me.

“I just thought, why reduce it if you don’t want people to buy it?

“But I don’t like being judged!”

“Never feel guilty about taking as many as you need and storing them safely,” someone else commented.

“Food waste going to landfills is one of the biggest causes of climate change, so you’re not just helping yourself here, you’re helping everyone!”
