A fashion fan has taken to Reddit to wonder if she can reuse a dress she wore to a summer wedding for her work Christmas party. Some users say it is too summery and revealing.

The woman from Bristol, who goes by the name @peregrine_midnight on the app, posted in the PlusSizeFashion thread asks for feedback on her £38 dress.

She shared a photo of herself wearing an asymmetrical sage green dress, with the fabric reaching just past her knees on one side, paired with open heels.

She wrote about the ASOS DESIGN Curve sheath midi dress with draped neckline: ‘Wear this dress to a wedding in the summer. Do you think it would be good for my work Christmas party?

‘I don’t have many dresses that I like. Always feel self-conscious in dresses and it’s hard to find one that fits my chest and also my butt. Thank you.’

Users were quick to share their thoughts and compliment the dress.

One Redditor wrote: ‘The dress is beautiful and you look beautiful. In my opinion it’s a bit too summery for a Christmas party. I think it depends on the location and dress code.

She suggested, “Maybe you could add darker accessories? such as a dark green scarf/vest and a darker shoe and a pair of nylons/tights to make it more suitable for winter.’

Another agreed: ‘I love this dress! Where is it from?’ before advising: ‘It’s a summer dress, so you’ll definitely want to style it for winter with tights and some layers on top, like a cardigan, shawl, faux fur jacket, glitter blazer or a turtleneck underneath if you’re feeling fashionable!

‘Style it off with white tones and silver or gold, think ‘matte peppermint Christmas cookie’!’

Others wrote: ‘Would be soooo pretty with a faux fur jacket omg’ and ‘Yes definitely.. needs a little sparkle added for some Christmas cheer. I like outfits that you can wear multiple times in different seasons.’

However, some users called the gown “too summery” and “too busty” for a work event.

One person explained: ‘I love the dress, but the neckline is way too deep and the side slit is also a bit too far for a work party.’

Another added: ‘It depends what you do for a living…. As a summer dress it’s fine, but depending on the type of Christmas party it can be a little overdone in how revealing it is.’

Someone else suggested: ‘I think it looks great on you, but it would look better in a more saturated colour’.

Meanwhile, one user wrote ‘Too summer for winter. Too many boobs, too many legs for a work event.”

Others said: ‘I love this on you!! I support you wearing this for any reason” and “Nice, but won’t you freeze!!!??”

One fan of the mint green dress, written with ‘Dark green tights, white cardigan (wrap style for some flattering modesty and warmth or perhaps something with pearl accents)

‘You can use copper, pale pink or even red accessories and you are good to go.

“Although I think the first two colors would compliment you well, given your tone. Think of soft pink and copper or rose gold.

Another agreed: “I like it and the second suggestion to winterize it.

‘Warm tights, a sweater/coat and maybe a nice Santa hat!

‘A necklace with lights or embellishments or fluffy tinsel would be quite fun!

‘Something to give it more of a Christmas theme would fit in great! Unless it’s a formal work party (how boring) lol’.
