Zookeeper mauled to death by a lion he had raised since birth in horror when he left the gate open while feeding the beast
A SEARCHEEPER has been mauled to death by a lion in a horrific attack after leaving the gate open while feeding the beast.
Olabode Olawuyi of Nigeria's Obafemi Awolowo University had raised the animal from birth before it turned on him and brutally killed him.

Olawuyi was attacked while feeding the lions, the university said in a statement.
His colleagues could not save him because one of the lions had already fatally injured him, the university added.
The lion has now been killed.
Mr Olawuyi, a veterinary technologist, “has been caring for the lions since they were born on campus about nine years ago”.
“But tragically, the male lion killed the man who was feeding them,” said university spokesperson Abiodun Olarewaju.
“We never knew what happened to the male lion he was supposed to attack [him],” he added.
