The victims of the 2024 Super Bowl Parade shooting include 11 injured children

Children's Mercy Kansas City is currently treating 12 patients from the 2024 Super Bowl victory parade shooting. We weekly can confirm.

According to a statement from Lisa Augustine, the senior manager of media relations, Children's Mercy is treating 12 patients, 11 of whom are minors between the ages of six and 15. Nine of the victims suffered from gunshot wounds. Everyone is expected to recover.

After news broke that some of the victims were minors, the Kansas City Chiefs became trustees Marquez Valdes-Scantling took to social media to offer his support to those in need.

'Is there any chance that someone can help me get in touch with these children or families? First of all, I want to make sure they are doing well,” he wrote via X on Wednesday. “But I would like to help them in any way I can and get them some stuff from the team to help with their recovery.”

The Chiefs celebrated their Super Bowl victory on Wednesday, February 14, with a parade in downtown Kansas City. As the festivities ended, shots were fired west of Union Station. Local police officers later confirmed that one participant had died and more than twenty were injured.

The Chiefs athletes, coaches and staff have all been found safe, as have the governors of Missouri and Kansas.

“We are truly saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside Union Station at the conclusion of today's parade and rally,” a statement from the Chiefs said. “Our thoughts go out to the victims, their families and all of Kansas City.”

The message concluded: “We are in close contact with the mayor's office and with the Kansas City Police Department. … We thank the local law enforcement and first responders who responded to the scene to assist.”

Police have arrested three suspects and an investigation is underway.

Chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomeswere both at the parade, where Patrick, 28, even gave a speech.

Patrick was one of the first Chiefs athletes to speak out after the tragedy. “Praying for Kansas City 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽” he wrote via X.

Brittany, 28, also shared a statement.

“Shooting people is never the solution,” she wrote via Instagram Story. “Praying for Kansas City and America in general, this is tough.”

In a follow-up post, Brittany said she was “very embarrassed and disappointed” by the incident.

“Super Bowl wins will never be the same because of this, it's devastating,” added Brittany, who started dating Patrick as a teenager. “Lives were lost and people were injured doing something that was supposed to happen [sic] to be a party. Horrible and traumatizing. So many prayers go out to the families involved.”

Mecole Hardman Jr.his girlfriend, Charia Gordonalso attended the meeting, noting via her Instagram Story that “we are okay.”

The 25-year-old Hardman is a wide receiver for the Chiefs and caught the winning pass of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11. The NFL Championship, played against the San Francisco 49ers, ended in overtime with a 25-22 score.
