A pilot saved himself from an emergency landing while brutally performing a stunt in front of spectators.
The pilot – who was flying a Van’s RV-7A plane during the Allen Aeroclub in Rio Negro – got too close to the ground, as the plane’s right wing skidded the landing.
According to the Aviation Safety Network, the pilot escaped safely and landed with a destroyed right wing tip.
Damage to the vessel did not go unnoticed by the authorities, and the Argentine Transport and Security Council launched an investigation into the accident.
“We were in the front, a piece of plastic from the plane flew at us and it went on as if nothing had happened,” one of the spectators tells Aviation24.
“Nobody said anything, it seemed like part of the show,” he said, though the audience can be heard in the videos released.
