Aldi has launched a bizarre Christmas-themed ice cream and customers say ‘it’s wrong on every level’.
The supermarket is selling Pigs in Blankets ice cream for £2.49 a tub, but the savory and sweet product is dividing shoppers.
Fortunately, there are no actual pieces of sausage in the ice cream, which will come as a relief to some customers.
Instead, the treat is pork, flavored with a salted smoked maple syrup running through it.
The festive desert was created by dairy farmers Ian and Lesley Buxton, who run Yorvale in Yorkshire.

The unusual dessert was first revealed in the Channel 4 show Aldi’s Christmas Secrets, which saw suppliers pitch their products for a place on the supermarket’s shelves in December.
Ian and Lesley landed their biggest ‘life-changing’ contract ever after winning the budget supermarket during the episode.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director Buying at Aldi UK, and Richard Thornton, Director of Communications at Aldi UK, were impressed with their quirky Pigs in Dekens ice cream.
Lesley said: ‘We experimented with different flavor profiles: Brussels sprouts, bacon and chestnut, port soaked cranberries and blue cheese, blue cheese and smoky bacon. Even a Christmas spiced ‘Cuthbert’ carrot cake.
‘But in the end we ended up at Pigs in Dekens, because this was by far the tastiest and most festive tasting of all.’
The couple’s product will be on shelves nationwide from this week and is described as the ‘unique soft, savory-sweet’ ice cream.

While others tried the ice cream and really enjoyed the flavors together.
