THIS time of year, many of us struggle to keep up with the build-up of damp in our homes.

More often than not, this problem presents itself as condensation on our windows or mold in the surrounding areas.

Aldi's window cleaner will retail for £19.99

But this problem can be easily solved if you have the right gadget.

Aldi has launched an 'amazing' new electric cleaning tool that allows you to wipe away condensation in seconds.

The electric window cleaner from Aldi € 19.99 makes windows, mirrors and smooth surfaces shine in just a few minutes thanks to the extra wide rubber lip with integrated suction nozzle.

The gadget is a motorized squeegee and works by vacuuming the window dry after a cleaning solution has been applied.

Luckily, the Aldi window cleaner comes with two microfiber cloths and a spray bottle, so you have everything you need at hand.

The rechargeable battery has a run time of up to 45 minutes and uses an LED light to indicate when your vacuum cleaner needs to be charged.

Aldi's electric window cleaner is being compared to Karcher's window vacuum cleaner, which retails for at least £40 in most stores.

Prices for the Karcher start at £44.99 on the Curry website, but if you buy it direct from the Karcher site you'll have to fork out at least £54.99.

If you want to purchase the Aldi window cleaner you'll need to head into store, but it won't be available until February 15.

You can use the Aldi store locator to find your nearest store.

It's always worth shopping around as you may be able to get a better deal elsewhere.

Argos has a Beldray cordless window vacuum cleaner for £40.

If you're working on a budget, B&M has an Addis Window Vacuum for £20, although you'll need to act quickly. The B&M site says this product is low in stock.

We tested a range of different vacuum cleaners. See which one might be right for you.

Another option to remove condensation and mold is a dehumidifier.

These work by sucking extra moisture from the air. Some are eclectic so it will cost you a run, but some won't.

Tesco has one for £1 and customers love it.

Lidl has a great dehumidifier that costs £44.99 that can help combat mold and condensation

Cheaper ways to tackle the problem

It is possible to simply wipe away condensation water when it appears on your windows.

Make sure you have a good window cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

One of the easiest ways to prevent mold buildup is to open your windows every day to let in fresh air and keep the doors open between rooms.

Ensuring that air circulates continuously throughout your home will reduce condensation so mold cannot grow.

You should also open the cabinet doors regularly to let in fresh air and ensure mold isn't growing in the cabinet.

Other things that can help include not letting your clothes dry on radiators and always cooking with ventilation.

In extreme cases of moisture and mold, it is best to keep windows open to allow airflow. Consider using an anti-fungal treatment to address the problem.

You can call in an expert and if you are renting, talk to your landlord to resolve the problem.
