People are rushing to upgrade their Amazon Fire Stick as the big sale begins

AMAZON has launched a huge sale on its Fire TV Sticks.

Shoppers can get the device for just £26.99, but there's a way to bring the total down even further with a little-known trick.

Amazon Fire Sticks are among the most popular budget streaming gadgets out there, allowing users to access their favorite TV apps and even play games.

And the current deal isn't exclusive to Amazon's website – it also appears to be available from most major retailers, including Argos and John Lewis, if you prefer to pick one up straight away.

The cheapest of the bunch is the Amazon Fire Stick Lite, which goes from £34.99 to £26.99.

Other options include the main Amazon Fire Stick, the 4K version and the top 4K Max, with up to £20 off.

Which Fire Stick is right for me?

There are four versions of the Amazon Fire Stick available for purchase.

The Lite version is the most basic of the bunch and can deliver 1080p HD, with 8GB of storage and an accompanying Lite remote.

Amazon's main Fire Stick is a step up with a better remote and some minor upgrades like Dolby Atmos audio to boost your sound.

Next up is the 4K Fire Stick which – as the name suggests – supports 4K TV. The RAM has also been doubled, so everything can run a lot smoother. It also enables faster Wi-Fi connections.

And the very best of the Fire Stick group is the 4K Max, which has an improved Alexa remote and 16GB of storage to keep even more apps.

If you already own an older Amazon Fire Stick, this may be an option for you to upgrade.

Users have reported that Fire Sticks start to slow down after a few years, although there are tips to improve this.

Luckily, Amazon offers a 20 percent discount on orders if you trade in an old device.
