“FireStick will NOT reset,” the disgruntled user wrote.

“Literally keeps coming back to this screen? I registered it on Amazon and logged into my WiFi. I can’t get past that.”

The Redditor posted a short clip of a black screen showing the Fire TV Stick being configured.

Even though the user clicked through all the steps, they kept coming back to square one.

“What’s your power source?” one Reddit user asked in the comments.

“Don’t trust the power from the USB. Use the external power supply,” another user suggested.

Amazon Fire TV Sticks do not have their own power source.

They need to be plugged into your TV, but they don’t necessarily need to be plugged directly into the wall socket.

Using an external USB power cable can sometimes be a better method to connect an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

You can use the HDMI extender that comes as an accessory in the box with your Fire TV Stick purchase.

The 3-inch extender is designed to make it easier for you to connect and disconnect the USB-shaped device from the TV.

“If it is difficult to connect the Stick to the TV’s HDMI port, use the HDMI extension cable,” Amazon says advises.

You just need to plug your Fire TV Stick into the extender first and then plug the extender into the USB port.

This can reportedly help resolve some connection issues and even overheating issues.
