Owner of Amazon Fire TV Stick recommends speed upgrade you can get for ‘a bargain’

AN Amazon Fire TV Stick has revealed how you can get a speed upgrade for a bargain.

The only problem is that you have to be patient if you want to save.

The tip was revealed on the popular Reddit forum r/fireTV.

It was posted in response to a Reddit user who asked about the differences between all Fire TV Stick models.

The user wondered whether to buy a cheaper model or invest in a major upgrade.

“I want to upgrade my old second generation Fire Stick.

“It’s on a small extra TV in our bedroom, the TV is only 1080p and only has built-in stereo speakers.

“The old 2nd gen has all the features we need, but it gets slow, sometimes crashes, and sometimes struggles with x265 content,” they wrote.

The Reddit user explained how they had seen that Fire TV Sticks were on sale at the time.

It seemed like the perfect time to upgrade, but the Fire Stick fan wasn’t sure which one was best.

“Is there any reason why I shouldn’t just buy the cheapest version, the Lite?” they asked.

“Black Friday sales at Amazon are up to 4k! Almost half off. Device will easily last 4-5 years!” said one user.

“Won’t last as long as a higher tier product, aka product cycle life,” the same Redditor advised.

“Go for the max speed of 4k while it’s cheap. It’s a bargain. It doesn’t matter if you’re not running 4k, you’ll notice the speed difference,” said another.

Amazon Fire TV Sticks with 4K are not always offered and usually cost more than $30.

However, they are often on Amazon sale, so it’s worth checking their price around sale season if you want to upgrade.
