bihar: In a tragic incident, at least one worker has died and more than 30 others are currently receiving treatment following a toxic gas leak at Raj Fresh Dairy in Vaishali district on Saturday night. Situation is under control
According to Ashok Kumar, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the fire department, the leak of toxic ammonia gas occurred from an ammonium cylinder at Raj Fresh Dairy. Several fire engines were deployed to bring the situation under control. He further stated that the situation is now under control and they are investigating the cause of the gas leak.
“We received information that there was an incident of gas leakage from an ammonium cylinder in Raj Fresh Dairy. Several fire engines arrived on the scene to bring the situation under control. As of now, we have information that some deliveries have been hospitalized. We are investigating the cause of the leak. The situation is now under control,” quoted ANI Kumar.

Treatment in progress
Civil surgeon Dr. Shyam Nandan Prasad of Sadar Hospital stated that patients hospitalized after coming into contact with the poisonous gas are in stable condition and are being treated.
“A worker has died and about 30-35 others are being treated at Hajipur Sadar Hospital after a toxic gas leaked from an ammonium cylinder at Raj Fresh Dairy in Vaishali district. The patients admitted are currently stable,” ANI quoted Dr Prasad as saying.
Not the first gas leak incident
In April this year, several people were affected after being exposed to ammonia gas leaking from a cold storage plant in East Champaran district. The official stated that the gas leak incident occurred at RB Cold Storage Pvt Ltd in Bariyarpur locality. The gas leak was reported after nearby residents heard a loud noise.
