Animal babies rescued: In a remarkable display of quick action, Wildlife SOS successfully rescued a four-month-old baby rhesus monkey with hand and leg injuries from Saket and a cold-stressed baby bat from Vasant Kunj in separate incidents in Delhi. Both baby animals are currently being treated by the NGO’s veterinary team.

The Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Unit recently rescued a baby monkey in Saket, New Delhi, after receiving a call from concerned citizens on its 24×7 emergency helpline (+91 9871963535). The two-member rescue team, equipped with specialized equipment, safely released the baby monkey who suffered minor injuries to his left hand and right foot. The monkey, identified as a four-month-old male child, is currently under the expert medical care of the NGO.

In a parallel incident, a baby bat was unable to fly due to cold stress after entering a house in Vasant Kunj. After receiving the rescue call on the emergency helpline, a two-member rescue team from the NGO responded immediately and rescued the bat from its predicament. After a thorough on-site medical examination, the bat was kept under medical supervision by the NGO’s veterinary team.

Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, said, “Delhi’s urban wildlife is constantly grappling with the changing nature of the urban landscape. These rescues underscore the adaptive challenges animals face in urban environments, which often lead to conflict.”

Wasim Akram, deputy director of special projects at Wildlife SOS, said: “Both the baby monkey and the bat are under our care. The monkey has injuries to its left hand and right foot and is undergoing medical treatment, while the bat is receiving care due to cold stress. Our team is closely monitoring their progress and is hopeful of their recovery.”
