An exhausted soldier was apprehended by colleagues after fainting at the Order of the Garter procession outside St George’s Chapel today.

A clip from the Windsor event shows one of the Household Cavalry on duty collapsed to the ground just before the royal arrivals began this afternoon.

The images show how the man lies on the ground while two others help him to his feet.

The visibly disoriented soldier struggles to get to his feet as he is helped and taken away.

It’s not clear exactly what caused the fall, but a tweet from Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English suggests it was the heat.

It comes just a week after oneAt least three overwhelmed soldiers passed out during the last Trooping the Color rehearsal earlier this month.

The blistering heat of the day had been described as ‘sauna’-like conditions by the youngest soldier who was with the Horse Guards Parade in St James’s Park.

Prince William has since thanked his soldiers for participating in such “difficult circumstances.”

“Many thanks to all the soldiers who participated in the Colonel’s Review this morning in the heat. Difficult conditions but you all did very well,” he tweeted.

‘Thank you. W.’

MailOnline has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

The historic Order of the Garter procession kicked off earlier today with Kate arriving first at St George’s Chapel – while Prince Andrew is absent for the second year in a row.

She was joined by Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh for the historic ceremony, known for her breathtaking pageantry.

It was King Charles and Queen Camilla’s turn before Princes William and Edward and Princess Anne were spotted by the delighted crowd.

Kate wore Collingwood drop pearl earrings first owned by Princess Diana that she has used on previous occasions.

She also opted for a chic black and white spotty midi dress by Alessandra Rich, which featured voluminous sleeves with ornate button details.

Her black and white hat – with feathers that perfectly matched the print of her dress – was by her well-known designer Philip Treacy.

The Order of the Garter is a 700-year-old tradition that recognizes great public service.

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair was also seen attending the prestigious ceremony.

The exclusion of the Duke of York hints at King Charles’ attitude towards his embattled brother – banned from many royal events since he stepped down as a working royal in 2019.

Andrew, the third child of the late Queen Elizabeth II, is said to be embroiled in a fight with his older brother over his £30 million Royal Lodge Windsor home.

The house has been reserved for the Prince and Princess of Wales, reports say, leaving Buckingham Palace aides desperate for Prince Andrew to move despite him having 55 years of rent left.

Last-minute interventions by the now King and Prince of Wales prevented the errant royal from taking part in last year’s ceremony – even though his name was already on the order of service alongside Prince Edward’s.

The Most Noble Order of the Garter, the oldest British order of knighthood and the oldest existing national order of knighthood, is limited to 24 Knights of Ladies Companion in addition to the King and Prince of Wales.

It also includes ‘supernumerary members’, including foreign monarchs and other royals such as Prince Andrew.

In honor of the first parade of the King’s reign, Queen Camilla has been made a Royal Knight of the Order of the Thistle, Scotland’s highest order of chivalry, joining the Princess Royal and Princess of Wales, who also have the honor .

Prince Andrew is expected to attend the inauguration at Windsor Castle and then lunch at the Waterloo Chamber, but will not be photographed with the rest of the family.

Sources told The Telegraph he had not expected a turnaround from the royals over his participation in formal events such as the Garter parade.

It is another example of the calmness of relations between the Duke of York and his extended family, despite signs that he was welcome back into the royal fold.

He appeared with the rest of the family for their Sandringham church tour on Christmas Day and also appeared in Windsor on Easter Sunday.

The prince is facing renewed questions about his relationship with serial sex abuser and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, after emails emerged suggesting he had ‘lied’ in his bombshell BBC interview with Emily Maitlis.

A post written by the late billionaire pedophile and released as part of a lawsuit in the US shows that he presented Andrew, 63, as a potential investor in 2011, despite the royal family claiming to have ended all contact in 2010.
