A bargain hunter spotted the discounted item in her local store and couldn't wait to share it.

She posted the shopping cart to the Facebook groups Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

The shopper shared a photo of the item and wrote: “£3.50 in Asda in The Jewel, Edinburgh – originally £35.”

The post received 182 likes and more than 90 comments.

Fellow deal-finding professionals praised the huge discount, with one saying: “Wow, what a good price xx”

Another wrote: “Wow bargain. Got a round three years ago, reduced to £18 and love it. Wrap Christmas lights around it.”

A third simply tagged his friend and said: “Go, go, go.”

While a fourth posted: “Maybe I should buy one.”

And a fifth wrote: “This would make a really cute plant stand.”

“Omg, we gotta find one,” declared another shopper.

The drinks cart is rated 4.2 out of 5 stars on Asda's website, and customers say it's easy to assemble and spacious.

Others said it was perfect for Christmas and was “much better quality” than they expected.

It has two shelves and stands on four wheels. It is approximately 85 cm high, 38 cm wide and 67 cm deep.

Of course, please bear in mind that although the shopping cart price is being reduced in the Asda store in Edinburgh, this may not be the case at other branches.

Typically, individual stores tend to massively reduce these types of items when they want to clear out excess stock.

This means that you also have to be quick to spot and pack them.

It's always worth calling your local store before heading there to make sure you aren't disappointed.

Also remember that you should always shop around when purchasing something like this.

Just because Asda has reduced it to £3.50 doesn't mean you can't get it cheaper elsewhere.

You can use Google Shopping search or websites such as pricepy.co.uk, which allow you to compare products and their prices.

Although in this case you won't find the exact same product at other retailers as it is exclusive to George Home.

The drinks cart isn't the only item that has recently been discounted at the supermarket.

Shoppers rushed to buy a “beautiful” 12-piece dining set that scanned for £6.

As foodies rushed to buy a Ninja air fryer, it was reduced from £220 to £55.

One customer was thrilled when he saw the popular 20-gallon Dual Zone Air Fryer at the bargain store.
