Aston Villa vs Chelsea example

Eight-time FA Cup winners Chelsea make the tricky journey to Villa Park for Wednesday's FA Cup fourth round replay.

And they arrive somber.

The Blues suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Wolves on Sunday, a result that saw them slip into the bottom half of the Premier League.

The result came just four days after their crushing 4-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, with manager Mauricio Pochettino admitting his position is now under threat.

There are no such concerns for hosts and seven-time winners of this competition Aston Villa.

Unai Emery's side ended a three-match winless streak with a resounding 5-0 victory over Sheffield United, scoring four goals in the space of 18 minutes in the first half.

Although Villa are favourites, they have lost each of their last FA Cup home games, and all of Chelsea have improved from eight of their last nine FA Cup replays.

Aston Villa vs Chelsea betting tips

Villans

After securing their biggest away win in the Premier League since 2018 this weekend, Aston Villa are in a good position to progress to the next round of the FA Cup.

Unai Emery's side simply have Chelsea's number, at least in recent encounters. They have won three of the last four meetings and have not conceded a single goal to their opponents in any of those matches.

Villa Park is also something of a fortress this season, with only Liverpool and Arsenal recording more competition points on their own field.

In contrast, Chelsea are struggling on the road with FIVE defeats in their last SIX games in all competitions.

What!

Ollie Watkins is enjoying another highly profitable campaign.

The 28-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided 12 assists in 32 appearances (2,533 minutes), meaning he has been involved in a goal every 90 minutes.

He has also scored in two of his last three games against Chelsea, who have kept one clean sheet in their last ten away games.

McGinn

John McGinn looks good for a shot on target on 7/5.

Only Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby have made more attempts on goal in the past four league matches, with McGinn scoring eight in the past 334 minutes.

The Scotland international scored twice on target in the reverse fixture in London, and could benefit from Chelsea perhaps switching to a deeper defender to halt their alarming recent defensive record.
