An Australian man living in Liverpool has caused outrage with his thoughts on the best and worst cities in Britain.

Sebastien Butleroriginally from Sydney, bBritish cities put into four categories, from ‘I would consider moving here’ to ‘absolute s***e’.

He praised Manchester – where he has lived for six months – as “really nice” and added that he would like to move there.

‘I would say the same for Liverpool: the atmosphere is really good. The weather is a bit bad [in both cities] but that’s the whole of Britain!’ he explained in a video.

But he branded parts of Birmingham, Luton and Grimsby as ‘unsafe’ and said he would ‘never live in the south’ unless it was Bristol or London.

Sebastien Butler, known by the same name on TikTok, is an Australian exchange student currently studying at the University of Liverpool, where he has posted several clips highlighting the cultural differences between the countries

The student added that he appreciated the ‘good nights out’ in Liverpool, although he described Leeds as ‘nicer’, adding that he wants to try the ‘Otley Run’ – a 16-pub pub crawl covering Leeds- students do during Freshers’ Week.

Despite his praise for the nightlife in the north, the Australian called Bristol ‘the best night out in Britain’.

Further afield in the ‘incredible’ capital, Sébastien said he was ‘constantly overdrawn’ to the point where he ‘couldn’t afford to live the best life’ – but insisted he would take the plunge if he ‘could would live the best life’. became really rich one day’.

He added that ‘York is the most beautiful place’ in Britain – but said he found so little activity that he ‘felt like I had seen it all in an hour’.

When it came to Sheffield, the Sydney native didn’t hold back.

He added: ‘It’s a bit smaller. It’s like a worse version of all the places here’.

The student added that Birmingham was ‘reasonable to visit’.

‘I stayed inside a chic place in Birmingham [Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield].

‘TThe area he lived in was nice.’

I wasn’t going anywhere where I could get stuck in a canal, so that was okay.”

The student, who 'lived in Manchester for six months', described the city as 'really nice' and even went so far as to say he was 'really considering moving from Australia to live there' in the clip which has been viewed more than 145,000 times has been viewed

The town of Colchester in Essex made it onto the ‘fair to visit’ list because he said it was ‘a nice town’, but he also found it so boring that he almost pushed it down the list.

The content creator quickly moved to his ‘a bit boring’ category, which included Lancaster, Huddersfield and the world-famous university city of Cambridge.

The TikToker seized on the stereotype, commenting: ‘Everyone in Cambridge is just sitting inside the library and not really active anywhere [else]. It’s just a bit dry’.

The influencer was interested in Hudderfield football stadium and admitted there was ‘not much else going on’.

The towns that unfortunately ended up in the ‘absolute s******e’ category were Luton, Grimsby and Carlisle.

Sebastien admitted: ‘Grimsby is my football team, but as soon as I got here people said to me: ‘Ddon’t go out in the city after 8 p.m.’, and that’s never a good sign’.

He did grow fond of the beach, but felt he could take it or leave it, as he felt his safety at the resort could be compromised.

So traumatized by his time in Luton he said: ‘I’m never going to that airport again. I’m going to spend the extra £20 on my Ryanair flight to ensure I go somewhere other than Luton. Once again I didn’t feel safe.”

However, the ‘worst place in all of Britain’ for Sebastien was the city of Carlisle in Cumbria.

‘I was there for two hours, not by choice, but of course during a train stop.

‘It’s probably the most boring city I’ve ever been to in my life. I went to the castle.

‘I walked 20 minutes to get there, it was terrible. Absolutely nothing open in town on a Saturday afternoon – only about four shops.

‘I went to get a kebab, it looked like a deconstructed kebab. It was the worst kebab ever. They expected me to do the sauce and meat myself and wrap it on the kebab.

‘I’ll pay you to do that, it cost £5 and I hope I never have the displeasure of going there again. I wouldn’t do it against my enemies.’
