My four-ingredient secret makes my bathroom smell good, but plumbers warn about it

A CLEANING enthusiast has shared his trick that keeps his bathroom smelling fresh.

He said his four-ingredient cleaning hack earned him compliments from visitors who continually came to his home.

The DIY expert shows off a water bottle filled with a mysterious liquid (@easy.tips39) posted the bottle in the tank of his toilet in a TikTok video.

“Into the bottle we're going to add fabric softener. I'm using this one, but you can use whatever you have on hand and we're just going to add one capful,” he said.

“People always ask me why my bathroom is so scented. That's the secret and it is.”

He then added a spoonful of baking soda, the juice of a whole lime, and a glass of water, leaving plenty of room in the bottle.

Using a screwdriver, he turned the water bottle upside down and drilled a hole in the side.

“If we put it in the toilet tank, it only comes out when we flush and with every flush the lemon along with the bicarbonate is already cleaning your toilet,” he said.

“The fabric softener gives your toilet a wonderful scent, so it always remains fragrant.”

He placed the water bottle in the tank and put the tank lid over it to close.

While he thought it was a surefire way to get rid of bad bathroom odors at little to no cost, many disagreed.

One plumber in particular warned viewers not to try his trick.

“As a plumber, I love it when people destroy the gaskets in their tanks,” they said.

'Do not do it. You call a plumber,” another agreed.

“My brother is a plumber and he strongly encourages people to do this and then call him as soon as the toilet breaks,” a third joked.
