Fans are always looking for a glimpse of their favorite celebrities. Waiting for hours at airports, concerts or shoots is no problem for many avid followers. But it’s not just catching a glimpse of stars that the fans crave, it’s the desire to get their hands on their belongings and have a souvenir of the moment. Imagine your favorite singer throwing sunglasses at you at a concert. What’s the first thing you’d think to do? Auction or keep as a beautiful precious memory?

Interestingly, in such an incident, a fan made a decision and it may not be what you think. It all started when American pop legend Beyonce threw on her designer sunglasses during her Renaissance World Tour. Fortunately, 20-year-old Global Valentino, who attended the concert, caught the couple. While most fans would have preferred to keep it as a precious keepsake, Valentino is doing the unthinkable, auctioning the shades for a whopping $25,000 (Rs 15 lakh) next month.

When the auction will take place

Global Valentino has offered the sunglasses for sale through the British Omega Auctions, a platform known for auctioning high-quality music memorabilia. The website describes the sunglasses as “an off-white pair of sunglasses probably custom 1/1, worn on stage by Beyonce.” during her performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London on May 29, 2023.

The auction house said live auctions will begin at 10am (UK time) on July 4. The item is expected to sell within hours, according to reports.

Who is Global Valentino?

Valentino is a TikToker and filmmaker. He was at Beyonce’s London concert when the pop sensation took off her sunglasses and threw them at him. “It was a really hard choice to make as a fan,” he told The New York Post while talking about his decision to put Beyonce’s black sunglasses up for auction.

Valentino continued, “Beyonce giving me a present twice will undoubtedly remain the fondest memories of my life to date.”

Omega Auctions manager Dan Hampson told the New York Post, “We’re totally pleased that the person who shipped them to us is the same person who captured the sunglasses in the (now viral) TikTok video.”
