‘Wow bargain’ say B&M shoppers rushing to scan homeware for £5
SHOPPERS are rushing to B&M to get their hands on homewares that have been reduced from £30 to just £5.
A savvy shopper revealed she managed to bag a drinks trolley for five bucks after noticing it was on sale.
But after doing some research on her own, she was able to lower the price even further.
She shared her discovery in the Extreme Couponing And Bargains UK group on Facebook.
The shopper said: “It’s not often I find a bargain, but today it’s on the shelves at B&M for £30 and there’s a sign saying it’s been reduced to £10.”
“I did a quick scan through the app to be sure and it scanned for £5.”
She continued: “I went to the register and sure enough, I got a drinks cart for five dollars.”
The post racked up hundreds of likes and comments, with many group members congratulating the savvy shopper.
One user said: “Brilliant.”
Another said: “I got mine for about £16 just after lockdown. I wrap it lightly.”
“Oh, I love a bargain!!! Well done you!!” a third user cheered.
A fourth user added: “These work great as a makeup/skincare cart.”
“Wow bargain,” said someone else.
Items like this will have limited stock from store to store and some may not have it at the same discounted price.
It’s always worth shopping when you want to buy a product as you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
How can I save money at B&M?
The B&M barcode scanner app allows you to discover discounted items before the staff has even marked them down.
Shoppers should also look for products with a white discount sticker on them.
This means that a certain amount is deducted from the price stated on the label.
At the end of the season it is cheaper to buy products.
Also be friendly to the staff, they can tell you when the sale starts, or if there are any bargains – so you get the best stuff.
What is the B&M barcode scanner?
The B&M scanner allows customers to see if the price of the item is cheaper than advertised on the store shelf.
It’s completely free to obtain and use, all you need to do is download the B&M app from the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
All you have to do is scan the barcode of each item in the store and see what price appears.
Whatever price is displayed is the price that will be scanned at the cash register.
Once you have the app on your phone, click the “scan” button at the bottom of your home page.
This will bring up the camera on your smartphone, which you will need to use to scan barcodes.
Although the discounts sometimes seem a bit arbitrary, they are usually seasonal or old stock.
Products that are usually discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.
