Brazilian pop star Dani Li dies at the age of 42 after complications during liposuction surgery

A Brazilian pop star died on Wednesday after complications arose during her liposuction surgery.
Dani Li, 42, went under the knife on Friday, January 19, for liposuction on her stomach and back, as well as a breast reduction, according to reports.
During the procedure performed in Pinhais, Brazil, she suffered a complication and had to be rushed to a hospital in the nearby city of Curitiba.
She tragically left behind her husband and their seven-year-old daughter.
The singer from Afuá, an island in the Amazon, is best known for her hit 'Eu sou da Amazonia' (I'm from the Amazon), which was released in 2014.

Her husband, Marcelo Mira, told local media on Thursday: “Her body will arrive in Macapá tomorrow.
'We are very shocked by all this. The funeral will take place on Saturday.'
The artist has been performing since she was five years old and even traveled to star in talent shows that took place up to four hours by boat from her home when she was 17.
In 2008, Dani Li, real name, Danielle Fonseca Machado, met the poet Osmar Júnior, who became her producer and helped her become a household name.
Her last song 'Guerra de Amor' was released on January 14.
At this stage it is unclear what led to the fatal complication.
However, it is understood she paid BRL25,000 (£4,000) for the operation.
It is believed that an investigation into her shocking and sudden death is underway.
