THE Met Office has issued new rain warnings, prompting more than a hundred flood warnings as Britons brace for travel chaos.

Yellow rain warnings will cover South West England, South Wales and parts of the region Midlands for much of today and tomorrow.

A warning will be in force for the West Country and the south until midnight Wales.

Another warning will concern Leicestershire And Warwickshire from 2 p.m. this afternoon until 3 a.m. tomorrow.

Forecasters said heavy rain will cause bus, train and rail disruptions car travel longer.

The Environment Agency has issued fourteen 'expected' flood warnings and 109 'possible' flood warnings across England.

Flooding is expected along the lower parts River Severn today, the agency said.

The inland rivers in the yellow warning zones are also likely to overflow their banks.

There is also a risk of flooding at high tide along the coast of Northern England.
