THE Met Office has warned of snow today as heavy rain triggers dozens of flood warnings – but sunshine is just days away.

For many Britons today will be mild and cloudy, with some showers and a chance of hills snow in the south of Scotland.

Eastern England We will enjoy a few brighter spells between showers.

Rain clouds drift towards the north Scotland tonight, but in England it will be “exceptionally mild”. Wales.

The Environment Agency has issued 24 “expected” flood warnings warnings and 156 “possible” flood warnings across England.

Clouds and drizzle are expected to return to the south next week, but northerners will still enjoy the crisp winter sunshine.
